  1. I guess since I see Sheldon as somewhat childish and practically infantile at times, seeing that big old poof of pit hair was shocking, particularly since lots of men clip or manscape or shave these days. He looks like he'd be the type to lock himself in the bathroom with the nose hair trimmer for hours on end trying to get that rouge flapping nose hair. Guess he forgot the pits.

Yes, Sheldon seems like such a man-child that those pits were disconcerting.   Especially since I feared that Amy was on the other side of one.  I had assumed before that BBT had manscapers on retainer but maybe not, James Earl Jones was in need of their services as well.

It is odd to focus on this- but those pits (in both episodes) really did make me jump out of the stories.

  2. I wish we knew the exact floor plan of the brownstone,  Is it 3 or 4 stories?  Does Sherlock have a bedroom?  How many bathrooms are there?  In a few episodes it seemed like everyone was fight over space in the same bathroom.  But the pressing question to me is, why hasn't Joan decorated her bedroom?

  3. He also lost out on being a surrogate father to his best friends kids.  (Which means he also suffered the death of his best friend.)  Really, in real life he would be in therapy in a basket.  Maybe it is all his early childhood trauma (implied- how great could it be growing up with that set of parents?) that makes him not see that Gabby it not good marriage material.  Love his causal good looks.  And Aussie Jesse is doing a great American accent (although he does not sound like Chicagoan to me).

  4. I've loved Eamonn Walker since "Oz." He is fantastic as Chief Boden -- tough when necessary, but fiercely protective of his house. Plus he has a great smile!

He reminds me of Captain Adam Fuller (Steven Williams) on 21 Jump Street.  Is anyone else that old?

  5. You and me both. Dude needs to trim his armpit hair.

Yeah, I didn't really think that was fair to Jim Parsons.  Don't they have full-time manscrapers on retainer for just such an occasion?

Although I was more annoyed than surprised that my ex didn't know to turn off the water to the toilet when this happened to him, shouldn't Howard know?

I bet NASA believes he knows this or they never would have sent him into space.

  6. I agree, Sherlock not knowing until after the funeral was very realistic.

Yeah, I am imagining now that Ian was in shock and Alistair's theater friends jump in and didn't contact Sherlock because they run in different circles (and didn't know he existed).

We didn't need to love Alistair like Sherlock did to be able to keenly appreciate his grief and frustration at the loss of his friend.

I agree of course. But what I would have given to have a flashback (as in Season 1: Woman) where Alistair cares for the strung-out Sherlock at his door.  However, that is mostly because I would love to see JLM playing drug-addled Sherlock- he's certainly got the acting chops for it.

  7. In the Adhesive Duck Deficiency where Sheldon (is supposed to) have his eyes closed while helping to get Penny dressed:

    P: Is that my arm?

S: It doesn't feel like an arm.

P: Then maybe you should let go of it.

First Season: Leonard sees Penny with a date.

    H: Why is Leonard sad?

S: He has been dumped by his imaginary girlfriend.

    H: Been there!

  8. Watson got married in canon with Mary and I'd be surprised if the Elementary writers don't go there, so what if eventually Joan gets married to Marcus? I mean, John/Joan, Marcus/Mary...

I would assume that if Elementary is on long enough that Watson would have to find her Mary.  But remember in canon Mary was quickly killed off and I think killing off Marcus would be a premise-killing move (meaning a shark jumping move).  I always assumed Mary Watson would be someone normal that would keep the home fires burning while Holmes and Watson are out gallivanting.  Actually, I would be fine with her marrying anyone she wants except Mycroft (and that includes Bell).

  9. Alistair had known Sherlock since he was ten so I wondered if Alistair was a father figure to him.  Great episode (at least the subplot)- I do wish that we had had a scene in a prior episode where we watched Sherlock and Alistair interact as living people (the only ones we had were of Watson and Alistair interacting).

I thought of a 12-step expression:  I (drink/eat/gamble/do drugs) because I am happy, sad, bored or busy.  Maybe Alistair used drugs again because he was so elated about the upcoming play and didn't know how to contain that happiness.

Doesn't make sense to me that Ian did not contact Sherlock about the funeral if Ian was up to contacting any people at all.  It seems like Sherlock would have been on the short list.

Now I am going to jones for Sherlock saying I love you to Watson.

  10. I think the audience probably prefers Wade but I'm not so sure about the writers.

There is definitely no chemistry between George and Zoe.  They haven't even slept together, right?  If they had had any chemistry at all, that would have already happened at least once under the stars on some hot Alabama night.  I don't think Zoe had any chemistry with Joel although I would of (meaning I think he is basically a very nice guy).  It is Zoe and Wade that could not even keep their hands off each other the first night they met.  However, I think it would be creepy for Zoe and Wade to get back together now that he has been with her cousin- although if Shelby can run off with the Lieutenant Governor I guess anything can happen.

  11. My first rule for any Ina recipe: Cut it in half.  Then cut the salt in half again.

Cut the fat down by at least a quarter and then add a squeeze of fresh lemon right before serving this makes every recipe I have tried of hers better.  My favorite recipe of hers is roasted Brussels sprouts (with the listed modifications).

Make sure you use good water.

  12. I am Mary Hedwig from the TWoF boards.  I am a psychologist studying to become a ficiton writer.  In general do not like procedurals but I love this one because of the relationship between Sherlock and "his aquaintances".  I also like how he is trying to manage his demons and fulfill (his preceived) destiny.  Also, I just love to watch JLM's facial expressions.  Not quite sure why everyone wants to murder their trusted partner in order to stick it to their ex-wife but I am  trying to catch up on that (and learn to suspend disbelief).  I am looking forward to posting here for the upcoming episode and discovering what your thoughts and insights are.

My favorite episode is Loaded Gun, Filled with Drugs from the first season.  I love how Sherlock overcomes temptation here.  My favortie scene is when he throw Rhys onto the chair.  I would be embarrassed to tell you how many times I have watched it.
