I have the ultimate Donald Sutherland/Simpson's connection. How many know the name of the character Sutherland played in the 1975 film The Day of the Locust? HOMER SIMPSON! That's right. Donald Sutherland was Homer Simpson before The Simpson's Homer Simpson. Author Nathanael West who wrote the 1939 novel the film was based on originated the name. R.I.P. to a wonderful actor.
