  1. I will say one thing that kind of amused me was this was a very weepy Final 3. Both Jordan and Lindsey constantly looked on the verge of tears.

Part of that could just be exhaustion though. Frankie in particular sounded sick. Could we get these poor people some sleep?

Keo picked up both Jordan and Lindsay when Tom announced they won. And Keo and Alan had them up on the shoulders right away. And Terrell was dancing around shirtless filming everything. Basically a fitting end to a season of Dancing with the Stars.

  2. Ahhh so happy for Lindsay and Jordan!! Through Alek, David, Jordan, etc. Lindsay Arnold has worked her butt off and deserves a Mirror Ball!

Probably for the first time I had no idea what order the Final 3 were going to go in and I would have been happy with any order.

All of the final dances were great of course. We got to see tons of dancing, especially tons of pro dancing. More of that please.

Called Drew and Emma re-doing that Jive- anything to make Jonathan have to dance again.

Holy crap Alfonso is getting shredded on Instagram. People are really pissed. Think maybe he'll decide to have a little slice of pie himself now?

    Twitter too.

I think he is the ringerest ringer who ever ringed.

Nah, still Heather Morris. Jordan is a better performer though.

Who were some of the dancers in Julianne's thing (other than Robert Roldan who is starting to seem extremely schmarmy to me now, having been a massive fan of his in his season)?

Mainly the troupe- I know I saw at least Jenna, Hailey, Britt, and Brandon. Don't know who the big guy was who was pulling off all of those impressive spins though.

  5. Emma: "If Drew and I win I'm going to take my mirror ball from this year and one from last season and make them dance, make them kiss. I'll take them and put them on my mantel and make Sasha walk past it every day."

She's so cute. It was the "MWAH" on the kiss that really sold it.

Lindsay: "This is what I do at night. I go home and write down all my notes!"

She's such a dance dork and I love her.

Pretty sure it's the Junior version being announced, as that's what intended from the press releases back in May.

Tom announced today on Twitter that it won't be the Junior version (thank goodness) but some kind of shorten season. My guess is either All-Stars or some kind of "Redemption" season (runners-up, shock eliminations, etc.)

  7. Drew went 4th as expected. Classy exit as always.

I really didn't think Julianne added much as a judge but always love to see her dance.

The only reason to put Maks and Val in Drew's freestyle for 10 seconds is Emma is smaaart and was hoping to capitalize on their fan base. Guess we won't know if it worked. I am glad they went for something a bit different in the freestyle.

Jordan's freestyle was amazing but I actually found it too similar in style to his Charleston. I also thought he was over-dancing at times, especially in the Charleston.

Lindsay is such a dance dork and I love her. "This is what I do at night, I go home and write down notes!"

I see they let Brittany Cherry out of the attic. Hi Brittany!

I've never been the biggest fan of Lindsey but that may be one of my favorite freestyles ever. Mark was so smart. I don't know that I've ever seen a freestyle suit someone so well.

So I want Jordan and Lindsay to win the Mirrorball but I need Mark Ballas to win that Emmy for his incredible choreography this season.

I would be completely fine with this scenario.

  8. Well the cast is always kind of the Walking Wounded by this point in the season. Some of those injuries looked painful.

Sorry for Victoria. Did Val not tell her that it pretty much had to be her or Drew tonight due to last week's scores? When Drew was called safe I knew they were goners. Regardless, she is amazing and should be so proud of herself.

Emma and Drew's lift has to be the scariest lift I've ever seen on the show. Please don't do that again.

So much Jenna in Victoria's first dance. At least for once she didn't eye-sex the camera. I'll bet anything that was Val's idea for trio week and when the show threw a Laurie surprise at them last week Val thought screw it, we're doing it anyway.

Of course Maks appears as soon as his name is said. He's like Beetlejuice. I do like Erin's way of dealing with him now- she's very much the exasperated sister who loves him but is over it.

That Proud Mary jive is one of my favorites on the show and I think Jordan and Lindsay did it justice. So freaking fast.

  9. Gymnasts tend to gain weight really oddly when their not in heavy training mode. Somthing about all their muscle mass can make them look strange. Also, Laurie is tiny. Like less than 5'. Gaining just a few pounds is going to be much more obvious on her frame.

I am all about the C bros (and therefore their partners) being coddled by the show but I'm willing to give them a pass on the black Kinesio tape. It's probably what medical had on hand and they are the last people to care about scoring and placements. They just don't want the girl collapsing on live tv.

  10. Cheryl totally knew it was them. Cheryl Burke can read and work this show like no other.

YAMAGUCHI! I’ve been waiting for Kristi to return since they passed over her for All Stars. Man, Mark was a baby when he started on this show.

Loved the old celebs returning but showcasing Drew next to Rashad just showed Drew's lack of swagger.

I missed Terrell and Cheryl with Kelly- I was explaining to my roommate what a quarter is- but it sounds like it was hilarious.

Victoria was always going to have an issue with the Jive and having her do it next to Laurie just highlighted the problem. Her spasm looked scary and I hope she is feeling alright.

Jordan’s two dances were so fast tonight. He looked amazing out there. The amount of energy he and Corbin put into that Salsa probably could have powered the building.

The other argument I want to make to some extent is that acting and performance are a big part of dance.  You can be the best technical dancer in the world, but if you can't sell a performance what good is all the technique.  You need to be both a technician as well as be able to play various roles.  What Frankie is more skilled at than his other competitors is he knows how to act and sell a performance, with the exception of the troll number.  I guess it's expected to some degree since he's an actor by trade, but so is Jordan and I'd actually argue that while obviously Jordan is a more talented dancer, Frankie is better at disappearing into parts/roles.  Both skill sets are necessary so I don't exactly think it's fair to totally right off what Frankie is doing. What Frankie needs is for his technical side to catch up to his performance side, but it's still all a part of dance and self expression.

Yup. This actually reminded me a lot of Heather Morris who was the best technical dancer to ever be on the show (as she was, you know, a DANCER) but often danced completely blank-faced and did little to sell the dance for me. Frankie is the opposite- his technique could improve but he can really sell the dance.

Exactly. She seems very childish and acts more like a 12 year old than a grown woman. That is weird to me. She is a lovely dancer, though.

I feel bad because I'm only a few years younger and am often quirky/childish myself but I really can't connect with Lindsey because of this. I really have no idea who she is besides the quirks.

Jordan is in a lose-lose situation. He is like Corbin and all the other Disney kids that their answers come off as faux humble and disingenuous. But if he were to say something that implied he was the best dancer he would be crucified for it.

If you are a camera, Jenna Johnson will KNOW where you are and will eye-fuck you.

Was that Keo in the clown costume for the beginning of Super Freak?  He looked very American all of a sudden - I'd like to see him krump.  I don't imagine good things.

Yup, he was in the bumper before the commercial in it to throwing candy. He looked like he was having a ball.

  13. Okay Artem looked HOT in that leather jacket and glasses.

Keo's clown outfit deserves a mention. He was loving that thing.

I don't care how many times they do it, I still love Sasha scaring everyone.

Mark, maybe don't collapse on top of the girl with the hurt rib. Gentlemanly move with the knee seat though.  I think my problem connecting with Lindsey is the same problem that I've had with some of Mark's partners in the past- he's so creative and good at coming up with wacky ideas and costuming that his partner's can get lost in the characters a bit. For instance, even though Frankie is a good actor when I see him dancing I never forget that it's Frankie dancing. With Lindsay I remember the costume/concept/cheoregraphy more than I ever remember her.

Frankie and Witney's dance was great but the guy outside in the black hoodie watching the girl through a window might have been a little too realistic.

Having Sasha officiate Emma's wedding and them bop around in the background like a bobblehead was cute.

It's just mean to make them dance right after telling half of the team they are in jeopardy. I love Team Monster Mash's concept but I think all the corn meant most of the time they couldn't see each other. It made the dance feel disjointed and I think led to some of the synchronicity issues.  And while I'll agree that Team Phantom was definitely better than the other, having the underdogs get perfect 10s while the other team got 8s seemed a little scripted. I though Team Phantom had  some syn issues, most notably from Victoria and Vanessa.  Also, no way was that the best team dance of all time- off the top of my head both Hayes's team Halloween dance and Brooke Burke/Warren Sapp's team dance were better.

Saw the double elimination coming but it didn't look like the couples did. Artem looked like he had no idea what just happened.

  14. Tom: "To those of you at home, please don't play a drinking game with Halloween-related puns tonight. You won't make it."

David Ross (to Jordan): "Don't assume just because you're the best dancer, you'll win. After all, I got second."

David knows what's up.  (Just to clarify, David was pointing out that it was amazing he even got second, not that he should have won.)

Terrell: "I'm probably the weak link here." Cheryl: "Yup."

    Cheryl is brutal.

I was surprised by "Rocket Bob" since he lives not that far from me, yet I've never heard of him and have never seen him highlighted on any local tv channel, even though we get news reports on locals being on The Voice, American Idol and other shows. Go figure. I did like the hovercraft best, though. And thank goodness that obnoxious wannabe child "star" wasn't on. Is that Noah? He's just too cool for school ... in his opinion.

I'm from RI and I didn't watch any of the local news but it was on the front page of the business section of the Sunday Dispatch.

  16. Oh man, I only watched this week cause I actually knew of Rocket Bob. So glad his hovercraft won.  He does shows and demonstrations at schools, fairs, etc. around the area. He also has a book called 'Yep, it's Rocket Science '. And to my knowledge he's never been married or had bio kids but he's been fostering kids since at least the 70s. Just an awesome guy.

I just want to watch Artem dance all the standard dances. Usually I watch the make pros in the standard dances and think "yeah, that looks nice", but there's something about the way he moves that makes me think "wow, that's really pretty please do more" and I can't figure it out.

I actually look forward to his ballroom dances whereas most of the others tend to lose my attention. I'm not sure why.

I agree. Artem somehow comes off as more elegant (?, not sure that is the word I want to use but it's as close as I can get) than some of the other male pros. In fact, due to the way he moves, I often think he's one of the tallest male pros but I believe Gleb, Keo, Maks, and possibly even Val are all taller than him.

We've been having the male vs female debate since literally season one. Men have to lead (or at least "lead") but the argument is that the female pros can just dance around them. The women have to be the pretty picture but the argument is that the male pros can often just move/manhandle them into place.
