Does Mirai have bandages on her back?
Yes, tape there and her thigh.
This costume is fine but I like the one from the team comp better.
That's a lot of yellow boxes for Mirai.

I am 100% here for anyone skating to "Back in Black."
I was thinking about it today and I decided this would be my music if I was in the Olympics. Glad to see someone took my advice ?.

Wow, US and Canada, bit of homerism going on there?? (Not talking about the top teams, look further down.)

Frankly I don't know how any of these guys are still walking. I think they had Gus Kenworthy held together with roll of scotch tape and a couple of paperclips by his final run.
I honestly thought big air seemed kind of pointless. One of the announcers mentioned that the jump was smaller than some of the jumps on the slopestyle course. Since both slopestyle and aerials already exist it just seems repetitive.

Russia* is really doing everyone a solid here. Lots of medals but no golds yet so we haven't had to deal with the whole Olympic flag/anthem instead of the Russian one yet.
Ladies' figure skating is almost certain to change that though.

I'm sorry to my untrained eye Virtue and Moir are so superior.

Shibs get a medal!
Well the crowd already like Virtue and Moir better

Their lifts are very nice, and definitely more complicated than the Shibs. Didn’t enjoy it as much but still lovely.
Are they? Not trying to be glib, I really don't know. They have one lift where he glides spread eagle while she kneels on his thighs and twirls her hands. That seems much easier than the lifts everyone else is doing.

Maia scares the hell out of me when she goes down on one knee. I always think she has fallen.

Shibs, imma need you to pull the equivalent of Nathan Chen's six quads. Please and thank you. <3
What's the ice dance equivalence of this? 20 twizzles?!
It feels like the Italians do a ton of lifts, like twice as many as other teams.
Maia just doesn't seem like Maia without a perky ponytail.

Cizeron is wearing the lowest...I don't even want to call it a V-neck because that doesn't do it justice. WHY?????
I kind-of understood all of these looks last night, cause Latin, but tonight there is really no excuse.
The Italians are so cute! I want to put them in my pocket!

I've never been a fan of Evan Bates but I hate to seem them fall like that. Chock looked just devestated.
"Imagine" still turns me into a sap. There, I admitted it.
I hate the Not!Russian lady's earrings but I actually think her dress is quite pretty.

Oh, I once knew a Russian man who told me that he remembered going through something like that when he was about seven years old to see whether he'd be a fit for gymnastics. Apparently, though, the Soviet government didn't think he had what it took.
Don't the Chinese still do this? Evaluate kids for different sports and take them off to schools when they are very young?

With these types of methods to keep off the weight i.e. poor eating habits, I’ve always wondered how these skaters (and gymnasts) keep up their endurance when competing in such high performance sports where endurance is a huge part of being successful? Protein smoothies and drugs?
Because proper food provides energy and can help build the appropriate muscle mass etc., to have the strenghth and endurance to compete. Of course practice is key as well. But I’m just curious how they’re not collapsing on the ice after a 2-4 minute skate full of jumps and spins if they’re barely eating.
Some of them are. I remember an interview with Tanith where she was eating like a handful of almonds a day to try and keep her weight down. But then she realized that Ben was having to literally drag her around out on the ice because she just didn't have the energy. She said she got much better when she started eating healthier.

So I just talked to my mom - Bob (inventor of the hovercraft) died today. I'm glad he got to see his toy so widely praised before he went.

I don't know but I was shocked Maks and Vanessa actually danced together. They could have easily had her do a girl's number or something with Nikki.

I saw Cheryl dancing with Brandon in one of the numbers which surprised me because he's one of the newest kids on the block.

I don't think anyone had to publicize Heather Morris's dance background - that's what she was known for. She was Beyonce's backup dancer and showcased her dancing on Glee for seasons.
Calling her a cheater is quite harsh though. I blame the show for her inclusion not Heather herself.

I don't know about the others but after GMA tomorrow (and any other required interviews) Lindsey and Mark will resume their tour and will have to fly down to Atlanta for a show Wednesday night. Where they get the energy, I don't know.
Ugh, why do these poor people do this to themselves. Why not schedule the tour so the next show was on Friday? Everybody get some rest!
QuoteThey need to have a redemption series and bring back some of the old celebs that should've/could've won their season.
That was my favorite idea for the Mini Season. I'm assuming their making it all athletes so they can't get athletes who normally wouldn't be able to commit to 3 months of DWTS because of the season/training.

I know in the last few seasons the show has started the "Look Back" song for the Finalists as kind of their version of One Shining Moment but they need to cut it-it's not working. It just takes time away that we could actually see the reactions/celebrations and maybe even sneak an interview in. Plus, it seems as though the finalists can't see the monitors as the audience can so it's just an awkward 2 minutes for them as they sway while a bunch of people stare at them.
QuoteAs soon as it was leaked that Jordan was going on the tour, I knew he had it in the bag.
I don't know if you are alluding to this or not but I believe the DWTS TBTB can't actually rig the show. They can (and do) manipulate it all to heck by giving some people better running order, better dances, more screen time but they can't actually change the outcome.

Gleb like literally stood in front of her and Keo. From the way they were laughing though that could have been an accident.
The female pro outfits with the giant bow on the butts were...odd. I kept wondering why everyone was dressed as squirrels.
No blooper reel?! C'mon show, you already took DanceCenter away from us. Remember your cheesy, goofy roots. I need Erin's bi-annual potshot at Keo.

Figure Skating
in 2018 Winter Olympics [Read-Only]
Brian Orser must be like the ice dancing coach. Five different countries jackets in his bag and he just switches them out.
