  1. SpoilerTV has a video of Amy Acker at DenverCon where she did a panel entitled "Women of Whedon" and had a few things to say about POI writers, Sarah, and her take on Root's feelings for Shaw*: http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/05/the-spoilertv-daily-newsreel-25th-may.html *Hint: she likes her a lil' bit.
  2. aquarian1: I wish I had corresponding data for the show's promotion and when CBS aired consecutive episodes because that has to be an influence on the ratings. I rarely look for commercials but I actively searched for some sign of promos/TV spots for Person of Interest this season and it was easier to find a unicorn. Since the end of 2014 it's felt as if CBS had decided to write this show off and the lack of viewership followed suit.
  3. I miss her terribly. The second half of Season Four suffered mightily in her absence, though it was delightful to see Vengeance Root in action.
  4. When it comes to renewal, things appear to be bit more uncertain than I'd initially suspected, if the comments by J.J. Abrams are anything to go by: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2015/05/03/usa-today-save-our-shows-2015-results/26659499/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=DTN+USA:
  5. Felix: It's Delphine. God, she looks good. Delphine: I warned you this was personal.
  6. Root: Want to really blow his mind? Tell him there are two of these things.
  7. Well, hello there Detective Carter: http://tvline.com/2015/04/06/person-of-interest-season-5-taraji-p-henson-returns-carter-flashback/ (super spoilery so don't click if you don't wanna know and/or somehow avoided the news elsewhere.)
  8. Here's a clip from Season 3 of Orphan Black via Canada's Space Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yalYs4bXCU4
  9. kwnyc, you get mad props for Shawdition. I suspect we'll all be using it for the rest of the season, or at least if/until Ms. Shahi returns. Harper as the latest Shawdition was pretty good, better than last week's and, though I'm sure to be in the minority on this, better in terms of acting than Dani Silva. I'd like to see her given a more engaging development should she return, though at this point the writers have set up a bunch of former Irrelevants for possible returns as well as Control, Grice, and Brooks so it could get kinda crowded were they all to come back around the same time. But, overall, I think Harper has potential and I very much liked the actress. Though, I suspect my favorite upcoming Shawdition will be . Dominic bothered me less this episode than in the ones prior and I thought he had a good point when he prodded Reese about why does Elias get a pass when he doesn't. I, too, was not satisfied by Reese's answer. And then a part of me started to wonder if it would be possible for Team Dominic to join forces with Team Machine if it came time to go against Samaritan. I think we all know Root's point about recruiting is spot on; our guys need more bodies for this upcoming war. Speaking of Root, I love it when she goes rogue and I simply don't believe at this point that she's working with The Machine, no matter what she's said at this point. I have a sneaking suspicion she's in full-Hacker Root mode and our having yet to see the black and yellow Interface box around her since her departure at the conclusion of "M.I.A." is only adding fuel to my mental fire. I'm sure Harold would not approve, but I bet Reese would. Or at least he'd understand. Man oh man do I still hope we get more Reese and Root moments in upcoming episodes. These two are strikingly similar despite their seeming differences. Plus, they're very efficient together. **crosses fingers** And, because it cannot be said enough, I miss Shaw and if I were Bear I, too, would be acting out my grief on expensive shoes.
  10. Claire is basically Root without the charm and good acting. I am not a fan. Nor was I much of a fan of this episode, either, given that I fell asleep twice while watching, something I've never done with this show. Whoever pointed out that the writer of this one is the same as the one who put together the mediocre "Last Call" from Season 3, thank you. Now I know which ones to avoid, or at leas put off until later, when I see his name again. Especially when it comes to Episode 15. The "twist" of Claire setting a trap for Harold was far too obvious to the point I was certain it had to be a misdirect, that her intentions and fears were genuine but Samaritan had set her up as unwitting bait for Harold. But, no. And as far as the Fetch and Retrieve plot went, it was barely developed and the actor who played the "big bad" executive - not to be confused with the "big bad" executive from 'Guilty' - did everything but twirl his moustache at the end. Anna Mueller was fine but she had zero chemistry with Reese, which was glaring after his big chemistry-with-the-ladies ep from last week, and I'm not talking romantic as much as just interactive. Root has no romantic chemistry with Reese but their twenty second exchange at the conclusion of the show was a highlight. I did like the way he was almost (for him) eager with his, "Hey, Root. You comin' back?" and she was essentially, "Peace out, Big Guy. Gotta grab this computer and do some mysterious work. See ya soon." I do want more interplay between them, it's like finding an untapped vein of gold. It was nice to see Bear again, however briefly. Bear makes everything better. As far as the past two Shaw-free and (mostly) Rootless episodes go, 'Guilty' was light-years better in that it was actually quite good. This one? Not so much.
  11. FYI, Katheryn Winnick from THE VIKINGS is headed to PERSON OF INTEREST for an episode: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/02/12/person-of-interest-casts-vikings-katheryn-winnick
  12. I think Control-Alt-Delete is going to be one of those episodes I appreciate more and more with distance. Upon first watch, I was still so emotionally raw after the brilliance of If-Then-Else that I found myself a little removed from this ep, particularly when the first half took that "hard left" that Nolan and Plageman warned us about. But, the more I think about it, the more I both appreciate it and love it and I suspect as the season progresses it will become the linchpin for the events that culminate in the final. Control and the Relevant team (I'd love to see more of Grice; he's interesting) are by all accounts being primed for bigger roles down the line and ultimately transitioning into some much needed allies for our team who were too few to begin with and now even more vulnerable with Shaw's absence. We need bodies to take Samaritan's bullets and I for one don't want any more of our people to be the ones to take them. Gah. Watching Root's anguish is brutal enough! Also, I must've listened to Moby's "The Violent Bare It Away" a dozen times since last Tuesday. This show does so many things well and its selection of music is yet another example of excellence.
  13. Finally, we get some Person of Interest talk in the media about "If-Then-Else." It bugs the shit outta me when I watch NFL games and ever other ad on CBS is for CSI's and NCIS shows. I saw one - one - for POI last Sunday and I lost count on how many I saw for the lettered shows. Anyhow, here's some interviews. The TV Line has a featurette that's pretty cool but, IMO, spoilery for the next ep. 14. The lack of anyone mentioning Marion Bowels/Michelle Forbes give me pause because she seems pretty integral to the plot at the end of Season 2. Has anyone heard if Forbes is coming back for Season 3?
  15. There's a lot of talk about Ari Millen and the male clones and that gives me serious pause - the one thing I was afraid of coming into the new season was a shift to the "new toy" for the writers at the expense of the female clones. Hope I'm wrong, but this doesn't help, tbh.
