  1. Sure they could have found one if someone had made the suggestion ... Alexandria is in the middle of a major metropolitan area.
  2. My service went out while walkers were going into the lake of fire. Anyone willing to fill me in on the last 3 minutes? Daryl ... why didn't you suggest the oil fire, I don't know ... while they were all in a huge contained pit?!?!
  3. So now they set them on fire ... would have been better in a controlled area, like, I don't know ... a BIG GIANT PIT?!?!
  4. the kids is dead, right? ... I mean ... bullet through the brain? Or did it graze the eye going by and just look really bad?
  5. Why is it that every group is strong, organized, and somewhat isolated until CDB comes along, and then conflict ensues and everything blows up? Why haven't the wolfs and Degan's group had it out with each other long before our merry group arrives ... and why hasn't either group had conflict with the Alexandrian's until CDB arrives? It's lazy writing. It seem like it would be more realistic for CDB to arrive in Alexandria with the feuds between these different "clans" already existing, and then having them affect the dynamic by their presence.
  6. For that tower to fall the way it did, a lot of the rotting wood would have to be in the bottom half. I'm not convinced that a tower of rotting wood would take out a steel wall with steel supports like that. Ron (name?) following cowboy hat did not bode well for Rick's family. I'm not sure if it's visceral or simply "You killed my dad, I'll kill your son."
  7. Interesting that among all the posts of stupid Alexandrians are birth control ads? I still can't believe that they thought letting the walkers out of the pit was a good idea. Yes, once the truck fell, they had to move ahead with the plan ... but I can't see why the bonfire would not have been better.

    S06.E02: JSS

Did I miss something or was Morgan the only one at both scenes, the zombie herding and the wolf defense? How was Morgan able to get back so quickly while everyone else was still away? Also, from the looks of the aftermath, Morgan didn't look too worried that the zombies might be headed their way? I would think he would rally the troops to get ready for the impending wave.
  9. Paradoxically, I think that an even slower build would have meant more chaos, and is something I would have liked to see. Remember, they skipped 9 days between the community first being sectioned off and the world outside going to hell. That would have been ripe for zombie events in a way that TWD never covered. Right now, they've caught up to where TWD started and they'll have to differentiate themselves from that show based on unique writing and characters, not based on a different set of events. I'm not sure if they're up to it? Regardless, I enjoyed the show much more than others on here.
  10. I think she is over-compensating for being duped by her mother ... like "If I can't trust my own mom, then I'm going to hold everyone outside this crew to the highest standards possible so I don't let my crew down again."
  11. I think his wound was through his eye. Travis: Please sir, let us in so I can protect my family? Barber: Come in. Travis: So what's back here, huh ... what are you hiding ... and what's upstairs ... who's up there ... why are you being such pricks and not letting us back there ... what's wrong with you ... you have any food ...yada yada yada. Dude you have to earn some trust before going guns-a-blazing on the questions. And no sincere thanks and not one mention of a zombie??? (as others have noted).
  12. OK, I'm in the minority in that I liked this A LOT. First of all, we never got to see the build up in TWD ... Rick woke up and everything had already gone to hell. I'm looking forward to seeing the progression of a few walkers, to 10%, to 25%, to a majority, etc., etc. At what point does each individual realize that nothing will be the same and get out of dodge vs. sticking around and hoping to "ride it out." There's a lot of good story-telling there. Once they get to the point of TWD level of zombies that Rick saw, then the two shows will have to work very hard to differentiate themselves from each other. I also like that we see the ramp-up coming mostly from the dead, meaning that the disease has been spreading for a while. I was wondering how walkers would ever take over given how slow they are, but the fact that everyone who dies wakes up a walker finally hit home. Society has to develop a whole new culture (sleeping in individual rooms with locks, etc) to control the epidemic.
  13. While Vanessa may be playing a pretty good game each week, she is playing a terrible game from the game theory standpoint for the final prize. She has managed to come off as the biggest threat of her alliance, so she'll probably be the first to go. If she does make it to the final 4 with her alliance, then there is absolutely no one who will take her to the F3 or F2 (never ally with someone in a showmance with a twin). The fact that floaters don't see the need to break up that trio is not surprising. The fact that Vanessa, a supposed game theorist, does not see that need is incredible.
  14. Once the Nathan James found the cure and then dealt with the emergency situation in Baltimore, shouldn't they have attempted to reestablish the chain of command by finding the person next in line for the presidency? They just took off on some new unknown mission without protecting and defending the constitution? Also, no way a HUD secretary would work through this group, and not claim the presidency legitimately, unless they have something on him. I'm thinking one of his kids is immune and they have the kid hostage. But I still love this show for some unknown reason, even with all the inconsistencies.
  15. Am I the only one who would want my potential spouse to choose NOT to sleep with other people while considering me for marriage. And then for her to tell Shawn ... "You have to trust me." ?!?! Shawn dude, have some self-respect and leave.
  16. This ending made me want to create a Razzies for TV (maybe the Sharkies) and nominate this series for worst writing. The number of times they changed the fundamental aspects of each character in order to force fit relationships and moods into plot twists made me dizzy. A few points: (1) Emanda went from spy-like, Jack Bauer status in season 1 to Get Smart status here, having to depend on a red-headed ditz to show up and tell them Victoria's location. (2) The ultimate revenge is not murder, but public shaming ... having one's sins and murders revealed before the world like they did with Conrad. They should really have saved that kind of unveiling for Victoria. (3) So many of the plot twists depended on people not simply stating single sentences about who killed who. Like, "Hey Margeaux, Conrad killed your dad." "An assassin killed Daniel." "And who knows who killed you baby." "Oh, and by the way, Victoria killed Emily's fiance ... that's why she's pissed." But when these simple words are covered by vague statements like "There are some lines that shouldn't be crossed," it shows a lack of creative writing that cannot create complex story-lines without Three's Company type confusion. Conclusion on Finale: big fat yawn.
  17. I was thinking Star Wars throughout the end, especially given their posture face-front out on the stoop instead of recessed into the alcove. I love this show, but one little nitpick: Why would Samaritan start on the West Coast allowing the machine to be cornered in a city so close to its human helpers. Why not start in the east and corner it in San Diego or Seattle? Anyway, I wish more viewers appreciated the depth of writing on this show and stopped watching Waltzing with the Celebrities or whatever those shows are called.
  18. One of the few/only shows I want to applaud after many of the episodes. How this has not even been nominated for a writing emmy, I'll never know. (I think sound-mixing is the only emmy received.) Too many good parts of this episode to mention them all ... so I'll just say well done!
  19. Does the main actress even get to push back on the writers on this show. Like "Hey, how come I was some kind of meta, all-knowing ninja in season 1, and now I can't even think that my main antagonist who is unbalanced might try to exact revenge on me when her life is shattered." The only saving grace will be if Amanda reveals that she psychologically guided Victoria into suicide, and all the sordid details of her sordid life (murder, terrorism, cover-up of terrorism) come out in the trial. Otherwise, if Amanda didn't see this coming, it shows extremely weak writing around her character. Also, the redhead: Do I side with the man and woman who got me off of psychotic drugs and saved me from the slavery that was my mother at their own risk ... or ... do I side with the women who blew up planes and tried to have Amanda committed just like my mom tried to essentially do to me. Her backing of Victoria makes absolutely no sense ?!?!?!
  20. The writing continues to deteriorate. Why hasn't Victoria been arrested for conspiracy to commit murder in the airline disaster and for murder in Aiden's demise. If Emanda's revelations are correct, they have enough to keep the court system busy for years. As least with Emanda, they tried to explain her not being arrested for fraud as a kind of "Get out of jail free card" as payback for unjustly incarcerating her father. It's weak but at least an attempt to explain why she wasn't arrested. But why not Victoria? I really hoped the writers would write a revenge story in which Victoria is socially cornered with all the truths coming out in full for her to be shamed by public opinion. It seems that the revelations on the talk show were vague at best, and I don't think such complicated writing is within the capabilities of the authors.

CDB needs to get the concept of "least bad alternative." Do these people have faults ... ya. Are they a crazy governor who would mow down his own people, or a cannibalistic tribe of gardeners ... no. Try to toughen them up, train them, and make it work, but don't go and kill the first abusive husband you come across. I think I read somewhere in a corporate training manual that committing murder will cause you to lose at least 50% of the audience in any training event (and more if you forget to serve snacks).

Even zombies hate Chris (somebody had to say it).

Why does this community have no procedures for sleeping, so that if someone dies in their sleep, they don't turn everyone else into a zombie? I mean CDB can't afford that luxury, but certainly this walled off community could, no?
  24. I don't like how they run into groups that are hyper-competent and then incompetent. Mapping a 53 mile radius semi-circle is a lot of ground to cover, and those two Alexandrians who tracked Rick's group for weeks is no small accomplishment. Plus, they have had to make frequent runs to provide food for all in that community, including elderly members they have not left to die. Yet, when they arrive we find Laurel and Hardy out making runs. They better explain that inconsistency at some point.
  25. I would be asking questions like: "In a suburban center with so many people, how did you have enough living people to fight back the walkers and build a wall? Also, how do you farm a suburban area? and gather sufficient food, especially with a growing population?" Too many unasked questions for me to have gone into that place.
