  1. I feel so awful for her: https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/2880330/the-talk-carrie-ann-inaba-split-boyfriend-fabien-viteri/. According to this article, TPTB are interested in hiring Jerry, but Sheryl and Elaine aren't for it: https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/2872585/the-talk-replace-sharon-osbourne-jerry-oconnell/. Not sure if any of that is true, but there it is. Jerry's still not my fave and I'm not on board with hiring a permanent male host, but I'll admit that he makes the atmosphere less dry. Sheryl seems to vibe off of him too (which lightens her load a bit), but I'm still holding out for a female host who can bring personality, smarts and humor without any OTT antics. If said candidate can't be found or talked into joining and TPTB had to choose between Jerry and Jenna Dewan, I'd have to go with Jerry. At least he's not boring.
  2. Sounds like a plan. 😉 I hope we get an update on how Carrie Ann's doing soon. I miss her. 😔
  3. According to the schedule Justin Baldoni's (aka I'm Hellbound for thinking of him as Hot Jesus) will be guest hosting the rest of the week.
  4. How I wish she'd come on to guest host. *sad sigh* Jerry was less annoying today, but Jay Pharoah's Wheel of Impressions (as spot-on as they are) is wearing thin. I like it when Sheryl shares stories about her dad. Like the one today about him basically telling Sheryl and her husband to get to steppin' and find a place of their own. He sounded like a loving but firm man.
  5. It'd be nice if they hired someone with teenagers or young adult children to give the mom perspective from a different angle.
  6. They better not be eyeing him (or any man) as a replacement. Jay Pharaoh wasn't as manic as Jerry, but he was a meh guest host. Is it really that hard for them to find better people to fill in? 🙄
  7. According to this article "many production companies are keen to have an updated version of their reality show" and interest in Sharon "remains sky high" after her Talk exit (Sure, Jan 🙄): https://popculture.com/reality-tv/news/sharon-osbourne-reportedly-considering-osbournes-reality-show-revival/. 🤢
  8. Co-sign! 😁 That was so cute when Elvis was more focused on his toy truck than the Sesame Street characters. Lol. Yesterday was the first time I saw a pic of Sheryl's birth mother. I remember her talking about how much she loved her and tried to do for her as an adult despite the physical abuse she suffered as a child. It's fortunate that Sheryl had the love from her father and stepmother. New schedule and it looks like Jerry's back but no more hot Jesu- I mean, Justin Baldoni. 😔 Monday - Actor Tom Everett Scott; Jerry O'Connell guest co-hosts. Tuesday - Actor Andrew McCarthy; Jerry O'Connell guest co-hosts. Wednesday - Actor Dean Norris; Jerry O'Connell guest co-hosts. Thursday - Television personality Barbara Corcoran; Jerry O'Connell guest co-hosts. Friday - Actress Bridget Moynahan; actress Bitsie Tulloch; Jerry O'Connell guest co-hosts.
  9. I didn't pay too much attention to Elaine's outfit today (which is rare since I usually notice and like her fashions, but maybe it was that bad and I blocked it out?), but I rolled my eyes when Justin tried playing devil's advocate (or maybe that was his personal belief) by saying the teacher may have been trying to protect the student. Like the girl said herself, stop sexualizing underage girls and don't punish them for being more developed than their female classmates. Then I started feeling guilty because Justin was giving me "Jesus" vibes with his hair down and I was also having not so Christian thoughts about him. I couldn't tell if I was burning with desire or the flames of Hell were threatening to consume me. 😉 I can't wait to see adorable little Elvis on tomorrow's show. 🥰
  10. Sweet moment between Amanda and (sexy as hell) Justin about how he helped her through her grief over her husband's death. Today's show was slightly less bad than the last two, but nothing special.
  11. You're very welcome, @RealHousewife. 🙂
  12. True, but on the other hand you can't openly insult another show for modeling itself after yours and having behind the scenes drama and not expect them to have something to say when you later fall on hard times yourself. Like I said before, the "vs" battle between both shows is/was tired and it's disappointing seeing women feed into the sexist "catfight" mess. You notice the media never speculates on whether or not late night talk show hosts like Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert like each or not despite having the exact same set-up/format. But they'll swear up and down that the women of The View, The Talk and The Real all hate each other because (in their minds) it's impossible for women to work together or compete against each other without wanting to pull each other's hair or gouge each other's eyes out. Unfortunately there were women who did backstab and trash each other, but they weren't the majority thankfully. I remember when Loni clapped back and I'm glad she did so in a classy way (hope the link works @RealHousewife): https://www.bet.com/celebrities/news/2018/05/04/the-real-loni-love-throws-throws-shade-whoopi-goldberg-diss.html. I understood Whoopi, Joy and Meghan's points, but it came off as sour grapes to me because both of their rivals won awards over them. I'd feel some type of way too, but I personally wouldn't speak on it publicly. Of course neither show would exist without Barbara's idea for and execution of The View, but neither The Talk or The Real should have to constantly announce that since we already know that. I noticed they didn't talk about the Duggars yet again, @catlover79. As disgusting as that story is, it's much more interesting than the topics they've been discussing the past two days. Just as I suspected the link didn't work. Lol. Here's a functional link to a video about what was said: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSno1H0r1cI.
  13. The show had a last minute Zoom set-up at the start of the year due to another stay-at-home order and the connections were even worse than the prior summer. Loss of ratings definitely bit into the budget, I'm afraid. I watch The Real and they've come a long way with their Zoom shows. The connections weren't pretty bad and Jeannie Mai had issues with her audio. A year has gone by and they've gotten it together, thank goodness. Unless there's a miracle happening behind the scenes we're not privy to, I don't think Aisha will be back. She hasn't even been back as a guest in over a year. 🙁 I remember when Julie said that and I found it tacky. I never liked when hosts on either show shaded the other since it's hard enough out there as women in TV and it's better to lift each other up. Plus, it's never a good move taking potshots because the world of TV is fickle and nothing's guaranteed. The View hosts openly mocked The Talk after the Holly and Leah firing and bragged about keeping the same panel before beginning the merry-go-round of co-hosts. And then The Talk (Sharon and Julie really) took glee in The View's issues only to lose both their jobs and the show is now on the brink of cancellation. Moral of the story: what you put out there is what you get back. Justin Baldoni didn't add too much to today's show, but he sat there looking damn good (man buns aren't usually my thing, but it works on him) so that's good enough. And I hope they quit with the skits and Jerry shaking his ass.
  14. The sad part is that many of us thought returning to the studio as opposed to the Zoom "at-home" shows last summer would improve things, but it didn't. I wasn't crazy about the Zoom shows at first, but it got better to me because they didn't have the pressure of being "on" and they felt more at home in their own homes. Being back in-studio is another story.
  15. No problem, @catlover79. If Jerry doesn't cool it with the antics I hope this will be his last week. Sheryl's definitely carrying the burden of keeping the show together, but I don't think she's phoning it in. Her enthusiasm is forced at times (same with Elaine and Amanda), but she's doing her best with what she has to work with. She really needs someone to match her energy and take some of the pressure off of her. Who that person is, I don't know.
  16. That's certainly good news for this viewer. Nice lady, but a boring host. They're having male guest co-hosts all month, but hopefully they're working something out with better potential (and female) replacements. They don't have the luxury of letting too much time pass by before they make their next move. No and today's show wouldn't have been worth checking out On Demand anyway. Hopefully they talk about it tomorrow. And Jerry takes some Ritalin.
  17. Today's show didn't have as many awkward silences and transitions, but it was still pretty boring. Jerry, please put your clothes on (the body's nothing to poo poo, but that bit was lame) and simmer down. 😩
  18. Hosts and guests you might find dull as dishwater could be interesting to someone else. Different strokes for different folks. I also find Amanda a boring host (sweet but still boring) and the chemistry is still off, but I like Sheryl and Elaine and tune in for them. Me personally, I have to like at least one or two people on a panel show in order to keeping watching. If I don't like any of them or the show itself, I'm out. I like to snark on shows (and fortunately this site is a snarker's paradise), but once a show crosses over from "love to hate snark material" to full-on "this is a steaming pile of shit I despise" (which doesn't happen very often for me), I ain't wastin' my time and energy on it! Lol. Don't even get me started on the Josh Duggar story, @catlover79. I never watched more than a minute or two of the family's reality show, but I got a sense there was something screwed up about them. I couldn't quite put my finger on it though. I wasn't surprised when it was revealed he'd molested two of his sisters (and a few other girls outside the family, if I'm not mistaken) and the family tried covering it up. Now he's getting busted for kiddie porn. Sick bastard.
  19. I'll have to check out Matthew Hussey. Thanks for recommending him to me, @RealHousewife. 🙂 Hopefully Jerry and Jamie can give the male perspective on it during the Tarana Burke and Brene Brown interview Monday. The MeToo movement has encouraged victims, male and female, to expose many predators who would've continued getting away with their crimes (including a certain Mr. Moonves) otherwise and I'm 100% behind that, but it's also had a downside with people making false claims and irrevocably damaging the lives of the falsely accused. With both the pros and the cons, keeping the dialogue over the issue of sexual harassment/abuse is vital. I'd say they're in good company since most of the guests Wendy Williams gets are either Z-list or ratchet reality show wannabe "celebs", but she puts little to no effort in her show. How that mess is still on the air is beyond me, but enough about her. Anyway, I have to be interested enough in the guest to stick around for the interview, regardless of their celebrity status. A-list doesn't always mean entertaining or interesting.
  20. Thanks for the link, @Jaded. 🙂 There was a guy (at least I think he was a guy) who had a channel full of 80's and 90's talk shows and it was a nice trip down memory lane, but somebody must've reported him since his account was deleted. I forgot about Where Are They Now and Deion Sanders's show. Those were some good ones. I wonder why they take off for so long. At first I suspected that's how Fox runs their daytime shows, but Wendy Williams's show is also on Fox and she usually takes off around late July or early August. Hopefully they'll air a few pre-taped shows.
  21. The week's barely over and already they've got next week's schedule ready: Monday - Founder of the #MeToo movement Tarana Burke and New York Times bestselling author Brene Brown discuss their book You Are Your Best Thing; actors Olivia Liang and Tzi Ma; actors Jerry O'Connell and Jamie Camil guest co-host. Tuesday - Actor Toni Trucks; actors Jerry O'Connell and Justin Baldoni guest co-host. Wednesday - Actor Brian Tyree Henry; actors Jerry O'Connell and Justin Baldoni guest co-host. Thursday - Actors Jerry O'Connell and Justin Baldoni guest co-host. Friday - Actor David Oyelowo; actors Jerry O'Connell and Justin Baldoni guest co-host. I hope they're not seriously considering hiring a male co-host full-time, but I don't mind having them every now and again. Hopefully Jerry can remain tolerable instead of annoying, but at least Justin can provide some eye candy. 🥰
  22. The only show I watch on OWN now is Iyanla's show and that's wrapping up soon. I used to watch Welcome to Sweetie Pie's and Kym Whitley's show. I don't know why she hasn't done this, but I'd love to see old episodes of Oprah's talk show. She has 25 years worth of shows and they're just sitting in the vault. Bring back some 80's Oprah with the "caller, you say what?" or 90's Oprah with the Patti LaBelle theme song. Lol. Back to The Real, next week's full of reruns so I guess they're on their summer hiatus. I hate having to wait until September for them to come back since they miss certain Girl Chat topics while they're still hot.
  23. I didn't know either of them prior to Nick's passing and the Trump video either, but I came across this article from last October where a "source" said that Amanda didn't "rate" during her first appearance, but nothing was really rating at the time so they kept asking her back anyway and most likely chose to hire her over the more suitable choice imo Rumer for the PR: https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/1703552/the-talk-fans-battle-over-rumer-willis-amanda-kloots-hiring-marie-osmond-replacement/. According to the article above the ratings when they returned to the studio were the same as the Zoom shows, but of course shooting in the studio was much more expensive. If CBS had sense they'd be listening to the viewers the show has left here and everywhere on else online and on social media and follow our suggestions. I know they're in crisis mode, but think and put your plans into action, people! I'd never heard of her before today (I don't really follow cooking shows), but she was good. I'd have to see more of her to determine if she'd be a good fit (to me anyway), but it helps that she has hosting experience.
  24. @UsernameFatigue, thanks for posting the pic for me. 🙂 Sad but true. 😔 All of the other issues you listed aside, the absence of an audience definitely hurt the show since they played a big part in enhancing the energy. A friend of mine used to call the show "The Clap" because of the constant applause. Lol. I suggested a few days ago that they should have a virtual audience and/or staff members like Wendy's, but that alone won't solve their problems. Trust me, Brandi would get the show canceled before the first commercial break. She's exhibited racist behavior on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and is an all-around asshole with no filter. It would be like hiring the even sloppier American version of Sharon. I wonder if TPTB are worried they'd receive backlash if they fired Amanda seeing as she's a widow who lost her husband only a year ago and also a single mom. They might fear that her fans will find it cruel letting her go and they'd lose more viewers. Like I said, she seems like a sweet woman and I empathize with her situation, but she's not an interesting host.
  25. The article about the feud? I was the one who posted it over the weekend. I don't know why the new link didn't work so I quoted my original post's link instead. Links tend to be hit or miss with me. Lol. Thanks for answering. I wanted to be totally sure of what Sheryl said so I went over to YouTube to watch the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T08qf2kMyYs. Amanda and Elaine were the first to say they love Carrie Ann, but Sheryl had just finished reading the statement from the teleprompter and she joined in after that. Yeah, I can't pretend to know everything that's going on behind the scenes, but if Carrie Ann and Sheryl despise each other off camera, they're good actresses on camera. I found the article you mentioned about Sharon sending Carrie Ann flowers: https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/talks-carrie-ann-inaba-thinking-23914103. If someone who's more technically savvy than me could post a pic of the flowers on the board, that'd be nice. Lol. I think TPTB thought Amanda would bring in more viewers because of her strong social media support following her video to Trump, but she wasn't really bringing anything when she auditioned either. That's why hiring Jenna Dewan based solely on her large social media audience would be a bad idea. They may bring in extra eyeballs, but they need to bring something that'll keep them there. And fast. As optimistic as I'd like to be about the show's survival, this is looking more and more bleak.
