  1. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the current hosts ended up leaving during the middle of next season (and if the ratings improve enough for them to have another season), but I don't think it would be Sheryl either. She's technically not an original since she joined the show in season 2, but she's been there for a decade and I think she and Carrie Ann are the best hosts personally. I noticed Jerry's been calmer since returning as guest co-host so hopefully he keeps that up when his hiring is officially confirmed.
  2. He wouldn't. Unless he's a masochist. I saw his interview on Wendy's show from last week and I posted about it on the previous page, but he actually said he had a good time co-hosting and although the residue from the March fiasco was still in the air, he didn't let it effect/affect (I always get those two confused) him because it had nothing to do with him. He was just there to have fun and he did. If he hates being there then he's doing a good job of hiding it, but I doubt it. BTW rumors about him joining the show started in May when he'd been filling in for a few weeks. I posted an article or two about it at the time and I'll try to link them tomorrow. He talks about his time on The Talk at around 7:24: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAvJdACbf70. Now that Jerry's inching closer to joining the show, I think they should just have him, Sheryl, Elaine and Amanda. Mark McGrath was ok, but didn't add very much. Elvis looked so adorable for his first day of school. 🥰
  3. I just hope he doesn't go ham with the all that jumping around if he gets the gig. A bounce here and there is fine. Lol.
  4. Speaking of Jerry, he's reportedly finishing a deal to join the show full-time: https://okmagazine.com/p/jerry-oconnell-host-deal-fill-sharon-osbourne-spot-the-talk/. Still not totally sold on a permanent male host (if he really is going to join the show), but out of the men they've had guest hosting over the last few months, he's certainly not the worst. Who knows? Maybe they'll announce Carrie Ann's return along with the news about Jerry (possibly) becoming a full-time host.
  5. The show usually goes on hiatus at the beginning of August so it looks like Carrie Ann won't be back until September at this point. If that's the case, I wish they'd just confirm it already. I think she/CBS would've confirmed if she wasn't coming back by now, but TPTB have been making strange decisions all season so who knows. They definitely need a more stable set of co-hosts and stick with the ones that get the most positive feedback from viewers. Jerry was good today. Not too OTT as usual and I thought he and Akbar were a nice "man duo". I hope they don't ask Jay Pharoah back anytime soon with his tired "wheel of celebrity impressions". Lol. She reminded me a bit of Holly and Aisha clutching her mug while talking.
  6. Next week's schedule (Jerry's back as guest co-host): Monday - Actor Martin Henderson; Jerry O'Connell and Akbar Gbajabiamila guest co-host. Tuesday - Singer Jason Mraz; Jerry O'Connell and Mark McGrath guest co-host. Wednesday - Actress Sonequa Martin-Green; Jerry O'Connell guest co-hosts. Thursday - Actress Yara Shahidi; Jerry O'Connell and Victor Cruz guest co-host. Friday - Actor Tom Cavanagh; Jerry O'Connell and Victor Cruz guest co-host. I also came across this: https://deadline.com/2021/07/nick-cordero-amanda-kloots-tribute-anniversary-death-1234786555/. 😔
  7. Well said, RealHousewife! Especially your last sentence. And bursting the "paying for dinner and getting sex in return" expectation some men have. I may be a Pretty Woman, but a hooker I am not. 😄
  8. I don't think there's anything wrong with embracing traditional gender roles if both parties consent to it, but I've never been too hung up on men having to pay for dinner. It's nice and appreciated, but I'm fine with splitting the check or paying all of it myself if I asked the guy out. Justin Baldoni aka Hot Jesus wouldn't have to worry about paying for a thing. His mere presence would be payment enough. Damn, why does he have to be married and not to me?! 😪
  9. I think I've seen some version of it now that I think about it. It usually airs right before they go to break, but it has Sheryl laughing and making noises while the others list the show's social media platforms. I guess they decided to have the others join in for some weird reason. I like Jerry when he dials down the OTT antics and he helped bring some much needed life into the show.
  10. Found some catch up interviews with Olivia Clare Friedman (Kelly) and Shari Dyon Perry (the original young Rene) on Start TV's website: https://www.starttv.com/catching-up-with-olivia-clare-friedman-from-any-day-now. https://www.starttv.com/catching-up-with-shari-dyon-perry-from-any-day-now. I'd like to see what Mae Middleton aka the original M.E. has been up to. Her last role was in 2003's The Fighting Temptations with Beyonce and Cuba Gooding Jr.
  11. Hope everybody had a great 4th of July! 🥳 @RealHousewife and @Pearson80, I didn't see the whole thing since I don't have HBO, but I was glad to see the clip of Janet and Will finally resolve their issues. It was obvious that Janet just wanted to be heard and her pain acknowledged by Will and although she might not have always gone about it the right way, it finally happened. New commercial? The one about "discussing heavy issues" (just saw that one for the first time the other day, but a friend told me it's been airing since spring) or is there a new one? Forget the promo. They need to focus on making the show itself better imo. I saw Jerry O'Connell on Wendy Williams show (blame it on the BBQ hangover 😉) and I thought she was going to ask him if he was ever seriously considered for the vacant seat, but he just said he had a good time and didn't pay attention to the all that mess that happened before they came back in April. As the saying goes "my name ain't Bennett and I ain't in it".
  12. I'd almost forgotten about that dance scene, @Pearson80. She not only checked those two snooty girls, she even showed up the choreographer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB25Nb24vdM. 😄 Next week's (most likely pre-taped) schedule: Monday - Actor Noah Wyle; singer Brett Young; Marcela Valladolid and Steven Weber guest co-host. Tuesday - Musician Richard Marx; actor Sam Richardson; Akbar Gbajabiamila and Mark Sanchez guest co-host. Wednesday - Actor Jamie Camil; TV host Arielle Vandenberg; Debbie Matenopolous and Mark Sanchez guest co-host. Thursday - Actor Grant Show; TV host Nischelle Turner; Bill Bellamy and Bobby Bones guest co-host. Friday - Comedian and actress Michelle Buteau; Rabbi Steve Leder; Deborah Norville and Bobby Bones guest co-host.
  13. Some students and alumni at Howard University want her fired as a dean: https://news.yahoo.com/howard-students-alumni-furious-phylicia-191315944.html. Exactly. I guess they're so used to living in their little bubble that they think they're above criticism. How quickly they learn when they step in it. I preferred Janet as the OG Aunt Viv too, @RealHousewife. Daphne Reid tried her best, but Janet owned that role.
  14. Same here. I get that she wants to support her friend and all, but that tweet was so unnecessary. Privately call him up on the phone and say it if you're not prepared for the justified backlash your comment will no doubt recieve. I like Janet's honesty too. Plus her ability to own her mistakes and apologize. Like this incident with Aisha Tyler back in 2013: https://madamenoire.com/276881/yo-weave-woman-angry-aunt-viv-goes-off-on-another-talk-show-host/. Janet sent Aisha flowers along with an apology not too long after which was nice.
  15. I knew they'd have to talk about Bill Cosby and I'm glad Deborah Norville was there to break down exactly why he was released. Sheryl was playing devil's advocate (which is used rarely most of the time), but I know it had to be hard for her since she's a survivor of rape/sexual abuse herself. Much props to Janet Hubert aka the original Aunt Viv on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air for calling out Phylicia Rashad's moronic tweet yesterday: https://news.yahoo.com/janet-hubert-slams-phylicia-rashad-145313994.html.
  16. Judging from this latest pic from her Instagram Carrie Ann seems to be feeling better: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQq3MrWho_s/. I'm hoping we finally get confirmation of her return after the 4th. Girl, maybe they could make a new show and hire some of us here. 😁 I know what you mean about the "chatting like girlfriends" appeal. That's what drew me to the first season of The Talk (little did we know about the toxicity behind the scenes at the time) and The Real. The latter is similar to how I am with my friends. Still no talk about Derek Chauvin, but they'd better not avoid this Bill Cosby story. Talk about some bullshit. 😡
  17. I don't know if I fully agree with that since the "she who shall not be named nor missed" drama was a major doozy (to put it lightly), but I don't think hiring a permanent male host is a step in the right direction of saving the show from "crisis mode" either. One thing's for sure, Carrie Ann needs to come back ASAP. I took a look at her Instagram earlier today and she tweeted about The Talk's season renewal so it seems like she will return and it won't be too soon. The next thing would be choosing better topics and figuring out what kind of show they want to be. This has never been a deep or political show (nor has it ever claimed to be), but they had a better balance of fluffy and slightly serious stories in the past. I'm still disappointed that they haven't talked about Derek Chauvin's sentencing yet. Yes, we're going to hear about the celebs and what they're saying or doing (or who they're rumored to be "doing"), but there are more important issues that can still be touched on. I don't want them to "flip the script" and start fighting and calling each other out of their names in a desperate attempt to "make sparks" or anything (I'd flip the channel and never go back if they pulled that), but they need to do something to turn things around for the better. It seems fairly easy yet they're making it so hard.
  18. I hope they talk about Derek Chauvin's sentencing tomorrow. I was surprised they didn't talk about it today, but maybe they chose to wait until Elaine's return.
  19. You can say that again, @RealHousewife. Just choosing to take the hard road. 🙄 You nailed it about Loose Women's vibe. I first heard about them about 10 years ago when I used to watch The View and Whoopi talked about her experience being a guest on their show. I've been watching them on YouTube ever since and wish it aired here. It's so good.
  20. They seem determined to make this happen no matter how much of a bad move it would be: https://www.etonline.com/media/videos/sheryl-underwood-talks-possibly-adding-some-testosterone-to-the-talk-panel-exclusive.
  21. Thanks. I haven't watched DWTS in years so I missed his season. Keeping the worst dancers for laughs while the better contestants were sent packing got old fast for me. If it continues down this road next season then I agree that it'll need to go. I have to say that I'm shocked Wendy Williams still has a show. With all the mess going on at The Talk at least they're trying to get better (though they need to try harder). Same with the other daytime talk shows. That steaming pile of garbage Wendy "hosts", on the other hand... 🤢
  22. Yep. They seem to have reconnected since her leave of absence from the show. Not sure what caused them to split before, but hopefully they can make it this time. She seems more relaxed and in a positive headspace so I guess he's doing something right. 🙂
  23. Next week's schedule: Monday - Actress Fran Drescher; actor and comedian Bill Bellamy and radio and TV personality Bobby Bones guest co-host. Tuesday - Actor Tony Hale; Bill Bellamy and Bobby Bones guest co-host. Wednesday - Reality TV home improvement personalities Drew and Jonathan Scott; Inside Edition host Deborah Norville and Bobby Bones guest co-host. Thursday - Singer-songwriter Michael Bolton; actor Bill Fagerbakke; Deborah Norville and former NFL player Akbar Gbajabiamila guest co-host. Friday - Actor Mike Colter; chef Antonia Lofaso; Deborah Norville and Akbar Gbajabiamila guest co-host. No idea who Bobby Bones is (name sounds familiar though) and Bill Bellamy was ok guest hosting before, but I like Deborah Norville. *shrug*
  24. Another lil' "R&R" update: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/entertainment/a36814271/the-talk-carrie-ann-inaba-nature-instagram-reaction/.
  25. I couldn't remember Sheryl's wig today (along with most of today's show aside from Mark McGrath getting emotional about his dad), but I remember years ago when Aisha was still a host Sheryl once wore a wig that (bless her heart and soul cus I love her, but) looked like Mo's hair from the Three Stooges. 😔 I don't know what in the world she was thinking, but thankfully she got it together and left said wig wherever she found it. Lol. I think Kaley Cuoco is set to play Doris Day in a biopic, but I don't see much of a resemblance. I can't speak on Amanda's acting skills, but she's definitely got the look.
