  1. I don't know why this tickled me so. Your last sentence sent chai through my nose. That really burns, btw...
  2. I'm glad I'm not the only one who breathed a sigh of relief that Printz was spared. At the beginning when Printz was first shown, I honestly almost turned it off. I cannot watch ANYTHING in which animals are harmed. Before my daughter & I watch a movie we like to consult that Does the Dog Die website to see if we will be able to sit through it. Not only was I afraid of him being hurt or worse by AC, but when AC put him in his cage, I thought they would leave him in there when they fled & we would be subjected to a scene in which someone came in to check on David for having been missing for several days, only to see that Printz had starved/died of thirst in his cage. :( I am in agreement with the poster who is choosing to believe that Printz happily lived out his remaining days being overindulged on the sprawling land of David's parents.
  3. People are entitled to like or dislike what they will, and encourage their children to emulate whomever they like, but I would never have held Jojo up as a gold standard to my children (nor did I push Spears/Aguilera while my oldest was growing up). What I was referring to in regard to the creepiness of the Jojo persona was the clownish parody of a younger child she gives off. I personally find it more than a little creepy. I never watched Glee, but I never heard of or saw Lea Michelle or the others using speech impediments and over the top babyish clothes to emote their characters. If they did, then I think they were creepy, too. Of course no rational adult wants to see a young teen gyrating on Youtube, but I think there is a happy medium which isn't being met here. Maybe Jojo dolls are selling like hotcakes, but that doesn't make them good, as far as I'm concerned, and I know that there are other offensive celebrity personalities. That still doesn't make Jojo or Jess seem wholesome or worth giving my admiration or money to. Obviously others feel differently. I'm sure I wouldn't change their minds any more than they would change mine. This show is mindless entertainment for me. I really don't take it that seriously...
  4. I have often thought of Baby Jane in relation to Jojo. Right down to the doll and the big stupid bow. It's a little bit creepy for an almost 15 year old to still try to act and dress as if they are 7, IMO. I guess the $$$ is worth it to Jess. Someone upthread mentioned that Holly had deleted or unfollowed the others. It doesn't seem like she would have done that if it were simply a case of Nia doing something else (which I agree would be a lousy thing to do).
  5. As much as I liked the Nasty Woman comment, this finale fell flat to me. It was all very predictable & IMO not very exciting.
  6. Didn't that just mean that Beverly had told Kai that Winter had given her the ticket and suggested she escape? I'm not understanding how that means that Winter lied to Beverly.
  7. I SO wish they had repeated that to her as well! Does anyone know if Gov Brown is going to deny Leslie VanHouten's release again? I hope so - NONE of them should ever see the light of day, IMO. (I know she was not at Cielo Dr, but the LaBiancas also suffered a horrible end)
  8. I have heard that there were always a lot of people in & out visiting the house, so no one thought it was unusual for people to just drop in. Frequent guests were said to have been members of the Mamas & the Papas, Eric Clapton & Warren Beatty among others.
  9. I had never heard that they told their victims to squeal like little piggies. I knew about the pig references, but Deliverance was the first I had ever heard of someone being told to squeal - and the awfulness of that movie is disturbing on another level... I agree, I was surprised when Kai was quoting Abigail Folger's last words that he didn't include the "I'm already dead". Chilling. I would never have the nerve to go to Cielo Dr, even though I understand it is completely different now.
  10. Are you saying there was mediocrity in my late 80's Tiger Beat issues?! I beg your pardon!!! ;)
  11. Evan Peters was amazing as Charles Manson. The voice, mannerisms & crazy eyes were spot on. I also loved Sarah, Leslie, Billie & Billy as the family members. Sarah sold the crazy as Susan Atkins, but the "squeal like a pig" line kind of took me out of the moment. Wasn't that a quote from Deliverance circa 1972? That being the case, it didn't seem to fit to me - I know, I'm being too picky, but that just took away from things, I thought. Other than that - wow! Sarah jumping up & down as poor Jay Sebring was finished off seemed eerily real & Leslie with her spaced out grin was the perfect Patricia Krenwinkle. I don't think I have ever seen Billy Eichner in anything other than comedy, so that was an interesting deviation. He was almost unrecognizable as Tex Watson. I would love to know who played Sharon Tate, as I agree with others that that definitely did not appear to be Lily Rabe. No matter how many times I hear what happened that night, I am never desensitized as to how horrific it was.
  12. At the risk of sounding very "Get Off My Lawn", I have to say that I think it's very sad that mediocrity is so richly rewarded. Some may find Jojo to be entertaining, but I see her as a depressing sign of the times. I remember Jess professing Jojo's aspirations of being the next Kim Kardashian... God help us all.
  13. I keep hearing about all that Jojo is doing (I don't have little ones anymore, so I honestly haven't seen or heard anything myself, but I will take the words of everyone else), but I can't for the life of me see her appeal. She has always been like nails on a chalkboard to me - hyper, annoying & not particularly nice. And her mother is an absolute nightmare. Maybe she has staying power, but it is sure lost on me!
  14. Everyone keeps talking about Cheryl putting the moms in their places, and what she said was great, but at the end of the day, she gave Kendall a solo like Jill wanted, so *shrug*
  15. Having recently rewatched season 1, I was surprised at how tolerable Cathy was in the first few episodes. She was kind of over the top in trying to show out at how great her studio was, only to have it shown as the moderately shabby looking cinder block building that it is, and she certainly overinflated Vivi's capabilities, but other than making too big of a deal in not letting Brooke use a costume, I actually didn't mind her & even chuckled at things she said a few times. At one point in the dressing room Abby had a blow up with someone - either Christi or Kelly - and Cathy looked at the camera & said "What did I get myself in to???". I didn't remember her being that comparatively sane. Much better than the 5 year old she devolved into later on.
