  1. I'm loving Witney as well. I liked her when she was on SYTYCD, so I'm glad to see her doing well on this show. Her choreography has been on point and has been really fun to watch. She and Alfonso are adorable together. I'm really rooting for them to take the title. If they win, will Witney be the youngest pro to win the show? I haven't seen every season and don't pay attention to the pros ages, so I don't know. But I do know that Witney's about 20 years old or so. I'd like to see her paired up with Tommy. I don't know why. I think they'd be hilarious together maybe. Johnathan would be my second choice though.
  2. I wish Jaleel had the same attitude as Alfonso when he was on the show. I mean, Alfonso admitted that he had a love/hate relationship with the Carlton character, but he understands how much people love the character and how much it means to people and how happy it makes them when he does that dance. Nostalgia is a very powerful thing for people. I wished Jaleel had realized that and had a much better attitude about it because he probably would've last much longer and even made the finals if he had.
  3. That's what I'm seeing too. Sadie seems like such a sweet girl and she's a natural performer. Alfonso is just so infectious, a delight to watch. I loved his dance tonight. I wasn't expecting him to get a 10 from America. I guess it just goes to show how much people were really wanting to see The Carlton dance. I also have to mention how impressed I am with Witney's choreography this season. These past two weeks, she and Alfonso have been saddled with some really inappropriate songs for their dances. But I thought she managed to choreograph a routine that made both dances work with the song. Tonight, her choreography was excellent, imo. It was really fun, happy, alot of jazz content, and just enough of The Carlton dance to give the fans what they wanted but not overtake the dance. I really want them in the finals cause I'm excited to see what they're going to do for their freestyle. I had a feeling Betsey was a goner when Julianne said "Thank you for being here..." after her dance. I don't know if the judges know who's going home beforehand or not, but that comment sounded like a send-off to me. I fear for Johnathan next week. I think he could be in the bottom. That samba was not good. What was worse was that Allison didn't look that great either. I love Allison. I'm a fan of hers from SYTYCD, but I just don't think she's working out on DWTS.
  4. I'm gonna be completely shallow and say I want John Martin to make the live shows. That guy is good eye candy. He kinda reminds me of Kris Allen too.
  5. Wow. The scores were just crazy tonight. Janel and Bethany getting perfect scores already? I didn't think either of those dances deserved 10s across the board. Alfonso and Sadie were underscored, imo. I thought both of their dances deserved at a 9. I'm trying not to think that the show is purposefully underscoring Alfonso to dampen his momentum and keep him from winning or reaching the finals. Because I really want him to be there. Maybe this will all work out in the long run. He can get a nice redemption arc as the season progresses and get those 10s when it really matters. I hope. I'm really impressed with Tommy and what Peta has been able to bring out of him. I don't think the show expected him to be so good. I know I didn't. It makes me wonder how many votes he's getting. I want him to stick around for a long time, even make the finals if he can, but I'm already preparing myself for the judges to start lowballing his scores. I think they like him but they probably don't want him in the finals. Heck, even Michael was okay tonight. I knew he wasn't really in the bottom last week. I wonder how big his NASCAR fanbase is, because I wonder how long he's gonna stick around. He didn't bother me tonight at all though.
  6. Betsey's scores were crazy. A 9 and a 6? One was too high and the other was too low. I really think Julianne gave her a 6 to offset Kevin's 9.
  7. I don't find Michael to be funny, really. Maybe it's just his personality, but I feel like he's trying way too hard to get some lol's. I'm also tired of his oogling and hot women jokes. It's just very annoying to me. He didn't do that great tonight, so I'm expecting him to land in the bottom 2. Tavis did okay, but he's just kind of there. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up going home this week either.
  8. When Adam said he'd been on the show for 3 years, I swear I got confused for a second. Gosh, this show's only been on for 3 years. It feels like it's been on alot longer. I was looking forward to how Gwen and Pharrell would do. I liked Gwen very much. There were times when I got a Christina "all about me" vibe from her with her jumping up on the stage and whatnot, but overall I liked her enthusiasm. I really liked Pharrell's vibe. He had a quiet confidence and didn't feel the need to go over the top with the theatrics like Adam always does and he came off more genuine that way. Really his credentials speak for itself though.
  9. I like Lea alot, but I really didn't think she deserved those 9s. I can only assume that she needs some extra help in the votes department and that was the reason for her score. Her posture looked off to me and her kicks weren't sharp enough. But I guess that didn't matter to the judges. The dance was really fun at least, and she had a blast dancing it. From all the drama in their intro package, I thought Alfonso and Witney were going to stink up the joint. But they ended up doing really good. I think Witney's putting a lot of pressure on herself because she has someone with potential to win it, and she doesn't want to blow it. I get it. But I wish they would both just relax and have fun. Allison probably feels insecure being on this show, but she really didn't help herself at all tonight. Her lack of ballroom experience really showed tonight with that Cha Cha - or lack thereof, and she came off too serious and a bit obnoxious in her interview with Erin. Girl needs to chill.
  10. Poor Keo. I really liked him. I hope he comes back as a pro next season. Johnathan really needs to tone down the eyes. It's hilarious but can look crazy after a while.
  11. If Lolo doesn't go this week, I have a weird feeling Tavis might. No one is talking about him, which is not good.
  12. Yeah. I was seriously cringing at Lolo while she was at the judges table. That was really awkward. Doesn't she know you don't talk over the judges? And she kept doing it over and over. I don't think she smiled once during the whole show. I get she was upset that she messed up and all, but she looked whiny and not very humble imo. I don't think she came off well at all. I really liked Keo, though. I haven't heard of him prior to this show. But from what I saw of him tonight, he seemed really nice and gracious. I was hoping to see more of him. Even if he and Lolo make it through tomorrow, it'll be a real struggle for them to last beyond a couple of weeks.
  13. Someone needs to make a meme of Lolo's bitchface while the judges were praising Sadie. I seriously lol'd when I saw that. Speaking of Sadie, did not agree with the two 9s. I thought she did great for someone who hadn't danced before, but it wasn't 9-worthy to me. I loved Chong! He's hilarious. I was surprised by how well he did. I want him to stick around. I have a soft spot in my heart for Alfonso, so I'm really rooting for him. I don't care if he's a "ringer." His dance was easily the best of the night. Witney must be super thrilled she got him as her partner.
  14. But don't their favorites usually have an easier road to the finale? You know, like being paired up with a popular or highly-skilled dancer, given the best choreography, slathered with praise, stuff like that. I feel like they pick their favorites during Vegas week and then pave the way accordingly to get the results that they want. Sometimes it works (i.e Melanie and Marko, Amy and Fik-Shun) and sometimes they backfire (i.e Mollee and Nathan from Season 6. They obviously intended for them to be a power couple but things just didn't work out. Didn't they call them the Dream Team?) In the beginning, I too thought Jessica (along with Ricky) was someone they wanted to win, but then she got the West Coast Swing, a terrible Tyce Jazz, and I thought the Foxtrot was nice but the judges didn't like it at all. Not to mention she kept getting saddled with partners that I knew were either not popular enough or skilled enough to last that long. For a while I thought the judges had given up on her because they kept criticizing her, especially when it came to her facial expressions (but that was mainly Misty making that critique). But then she gets a Travis contemporary with Casey and the praise starts up again and it's all about her growth and finally living up to her potential. Maybe their intent all along was to give her some kind of growth arc, I don't know. But it just seems odd to me that they would do that. Good thing for Jessica her fanbase was big enough to keep her out of the bottom those first few weeks.
  15. I wasn't a Rudy fan, and I didn't really care for his showmance with Jacque. But as he was crying his eyes out after his elimination, I couldn't help but find it a little odd that Jacque didn't look like she seemed to care much at all.
  16. It did feel like it had some House elements to it. It kinda reminded me of the House routine on SYTYCD Canada with Tara-Jean and Everett, though with less footwork. I liked Jessica/Twitch routine. It may not have been really hip hop. But I did like the humor she and Twitch brought to the performance and their movements were in sync.
