  1. No problem. I'm at least glad they are opening up the voting at the very start of the show. I had been anticipating the vote would only last minutes and be opened up sometime buried in the middle of the EST broadcast and we'd have to find some live stream or live blog to figure out when voting would start. I wonder if DWTSLiveVote.com is actually a different site or it just redirects back to the usual dwtsvote.abc.go.com?
  2. Disney Press Release for the DWTS Finale is out (take particular note of the info in BOLD):
  3. I don't remember ever feeling "I would also be fine if so-and-so won," even if I do enjoy other couples. Whenever I have a favorite, I get so invested that it's all-or-nothing for me. Unfortunately, I keep getting a lot of nothing from this show. With all the Evanna love I am seeing everywhere online, I am expecting to get nothing again this season, which is depressing as heck for me since it started out so promising for Milo. Also, in past seasons, after the final full period of voting, the results would be confirmed the next day. This time, we have to stew in it for a week. That's why I restarted discussion in this thread...to hopefully find some other Milo supporters to ride it out with. I think that the freestyles, whether good or bad for any of the couples, are not going to have any bearing at all on the winner this season. Much like the Athletes mini-season. The winner was decided by this past Monday night's voting. Did anyone other than Juan Pablo really have a stellar (outstanding or memorable) night, though? With his perfect 60 and elimination, it was Juan Pablo Night at DWTS. And I think Milo was definitely hurt by performing his AT on the same night as Juan Pablo's...I watched Milo's AT online first before any of the other dances and I loved it and thought it was very strong.
  4. Is there anyone still Team Milo/Witney for the WIN (not just final 2)? I've rooted for so many female celebs over the years, only to be repeatedly disappointed when they lost out to a charming male. This season, it was the charming male (Milo) who surprised me and quickly became my favorite. I thought, finally I might be safe for once! But of course, the demographic chooses this season to rally behind the female contender for the win. On top of that, this is the first season where we won't have a night of full voting after the freestyles, which I think Milo/Witney could have excelled. Now, you know the judges will just score them all 30 (except Bobby's maybe), meaning the winner was already decided last night.
  5. I think he quite possibly would have had a higher score, but that score would still only go towards last night's elimination. And as we have learned, Milo was safe anyways. The only difference now is the voters' perception of Milo's AT, and I think it unfortunately suffers (even though I loved it) regardless if he went before or after Juan Pablo.
  6. Last night's scores only counted towards last night's elimination. The voting after last night's show + freestyle scores next Monday will determine winner.
  7. I loved both of Milo's dances tonight, so his scores were disappointing to me as well. The judges' especially seemed to score Milo's AT as a direct ranking to Juan Pablo's, even though they had nothing negative to say, and Milo's had a different style and modern song. And even if he and Witney do a great freestyle next Monday, it won't even matter, because there will barely be any time to vote and the judges will probably score all of them 30.
  8. That was Brian Fortuna in Season 4. He was paired with former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey (who coincidentally looked like a Barbie doll herself). Tyne is memorable for being the first contemporary dancer to be hired as a pro. If you had issues with Allison Holker's ballroom dancing and teaching, it was worse with Tyne.
  9. There was a small window (5 minutes?) of online voting after the freestyles. I suspect it will be the same this season finale.
  10. So it looks like the judges' choice dances are actually the couples' Week 1 Night 2 dances that they (except Alexis/Alan) didn't get to dance by virtue of not being in bottom 6.
  11. You are correct...this season, starting after the second week, the results have been previous Monday's votes + judges' scores from the current Monday show. This is the first season they have ever used this format (probably to eventually end up accommodating the rumored one-night finale) and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, it seems more fair to combine the scores and votes from the same night's performance, even if the result is revealed a week later. On the other hand, if you are the eliminated couple, at least your current Monday's performance counted for something (whereas in the other format, your current performance is just an exhibition number). On the third hand, if there is only a one-night finale, I don't like that we would not be getting a full final voting period to determine the winner. What do you all think?
  12. I think that audience expectations play a big part in how a contestant is received on DWTS... Does anyone think that if Milo were a little older, say in his twenties, expectations (both dance-wise and personality-wise) would be different for him and he might not be doing as well in the competition?
  13. Voting (both phone and online) is open from the start of the East Coast broadcast (8pm EST/ 5pm PST) until 4am EST/1am PST Tuesday.
  14. I know that this season has been frustrating for obvious reasons, but I still think it hasn't been a bust because we had a high number of good dancers, one of them being Milo. He's been a real exciting surprise for me and, it seems, to a lot of other people as well (which has made it nice not having to defend my favorite so ardently this season LOL).
  15. The same for me. The only number I could really get into tonight was Team HayNow, with "9 to 5" being such a classic and catchy song. If Milo had been a team captain, he likely would have chosen Alexis/Alan first. I think, so far, this has been Witney's best season. Perhaps being the older one in the partnership has matured her as a teacher and choreographer. I even think her own dancing and the content she's been putting in Milo's routines have, as a whole, been better than her season with Alfonso, who is a much more seasoned and experienced dancer, performer and individual than Milo.
  16. I also do not wish to start an argument over whether the female or male pros have it harder. However, since you presented the challenges for the female pros, I would like to point out on the male pros' behalf that the expectations (both quantity and quality of dancing) put on the female celebs are at least 2x that for the male celebs in order to even get a somewhat equally favorable response. The responsibility of meeting those expectations are put on the male pros' shoulders. Milo is my favorite and I like Juan Pablo's dancing, but I must admit that if they were female, Milo's technical imperfections and the lack of proper content in a few of Juan Pablo's dances would have earned lower scores and perhaps gotten them eliminated by now.
  17. That would be a nice way to look at it, except I don't think the DWTS fandom has ever been as passionate for any of the female pros as they have been for the male pros.
  18. Yeah, this string of female celeb eliminations is a bad look for the show. However, once again to clarify, the show usually says the two couples up for elimination are "in jeopardy"... they are not necessarily the couples at the bottom with the two lowest totals.

  20. Dance order for tonight's Halloween dances, per George P: Milo, John, Demarcus, Evanna, Bobby, Mary Lou, Alexis, Joe, Juan Pablo
  21. There will be a couple of guest performances this Monday (I heard Jabbawockeez and Twitch+crew) to fill up the time. Nine couples are too many for team dances; in the past it's been 6-8 couples. If they had gone through with the elimination on Disney night or had done the double elimination in Week 2 as planned, I think we would most likely have had the Halloween Team Dances.
  22. Yes, this has become more and more obvious the past few seasons and I hate it. If you aren't going on the tour, don't expect to win. In general, I hate all the ways the show tries to manipulate the results on the show. And because of it, we hardly get any surprises anymore. No Donald Driver over Katherine and William, no Shawn Johnson beating out Gilles by less than one percent of the vote, no Rob Kardashian coming in second place, etc.
  23. For me, the pros have always been the "stars" in "Dancing with the Stars" and the celebs are the guests for each season. The pros do at least three times the work as the celebs - not only dancing themselves, but teaching, choreographing, making artistic decisions, and serving as the rock of support for their partners. Unless they are consistently doing a poor job, IMO it would be a bit disrespectful to consider the pros expendable and replaceable. I don't think the show would be as successful as it is or generate as much discussion throughout the years if they changed the pro roster every season. Fans get invested in and get passionate over what is familiar. We get to know these pros, we know their histories, their track records, and we see them evolve. I think it is inevitable that many of us will get attached and look forward to seeing our favorite pros each season. And when our favorites don't win, at least there is the consolation and hope for the next new season.
  24. Dances/Songs for Week 6 Halloween Night: Alexis & Alan – Jazz (Song: “Candyman” by Christina Aguilera ) Juan Pablo & Cheryl – Jive (Song: “Dead Man’s Party” by Atwater Men’s Club) DeMarcus & Lindsay – Salsa (Song: “Under Your Spell” by Leo Soul) Evanna & Keo – Tango (Song: “Disturbia” by Rihanna) Joe & Jenna – Argentine Tango (Song: “El Tango de Roxanne” from “Moulin Rouge”) Mary Lou & Sasha – Tango (Song: “Shame” by Elle King) John & Emma – Paso Doblé (Song: “Main Titles” from “Beetlejuice,” by Ray Chew Live) Bobby & Sharna – Argentine Tango (Song: “Mr. Sandman” by SYM) Milo & Witney – Contemporary (Song: “Toxic” by 2WEI)
