This filmed about a month after the scandal, so we're watching something from several months ago that we have moved on from awhile ago. I am questioning their decision to use 'stale" footage for the new season.

While I agree it's not recent, Sandoval's birthday is in July. That's four months after the story broke.

He's not remorseful and doesn't know how to be/act contrite. IMHO, he's trying to curry public favor with this suicidal talk, It's a means to generate some sympathy.  The way he acted on stage throughout the Summer and on that infamous podcast is the true Tom Sandoval. Complete narcissist. Heck, he can't even manage to hide the smirk during his convo with LVP.

Speaking of opportunities, does he realize that his appearance on the Special Forces show (and Schwartz invitation to Stars on Mars) also came as a result of this scandal?

Fraser must deal with escalating tension between two of his stews that threatens to ruin his season. Jared makes a big mistake, causing Ben and Fraser to feel that they can’t rely on the new bosun. Capt. Kerry docks St. David for the first time, but the deck team’s lack of communication could lead to a disastrous end to the first charter.

    Aired 2/12/2024

A bosun with untreated ADHD, what could go wrong?

Unable to pick a side with Barbie/Cat, they both have valid points. Not sure why Fraser initially wanted them to talk it out as a team but then got frustrated as they did so. I think he was nervous that he'd be outed for talking about situation at the beach within earshot of Ben.

Ben quickly running to Barbie to tell her reminded me of his role in last season's drama between Camille and the one who's name I can't remember. Good on Fraser to telling him to stay out of it. Curious if he'll abide or if that's his MO to get laid.

It feels like the show is way more interested in who killed Annie than what happened to the scientists, I guess they wanted the big creepy pile of dead guys to be their marketing hook but really wanted to do a more conventional murder mystery with an evil business conspiracy vs a kind young activist woman who was tragically murdered.

I agree, and the without the tongue there's no way these cases would've been linked. Curious who kept the tongue for six years and then left it at the lab, because it's the only reason they've got this far in the investigation.

If the mine has been poisoning the water for six years and the natives have continued to protest, why did it take this long for there to be additional murders?

  4. I felt like this twist came out of nowhere just to save precious Peter, who us annoying as hell at this point. He's the very definition of smug.

I loved Sandra showing everyone the numbers using billard balls. I had such high hopes for the plan. Damn you, CT.

Loved the challenge. More like that one, please.

Oddly, I find myself rooting for Parvati. If she could recruit Kate, it would be my dream team.

  5. While I was never an Ariana fan before the scandal, I was sympathetic to how she was blindsided by the betrayal. It wasn't that Sandoval cheated, she really should've expected that! Rather, it was Raquel's involvement as her close friend and the fact that they carried on for months right under her nose.

That said, not sure how she can be faulted for the public reaction and her ensuing popularity. Was she supposed to turn down opportunities to maintain their sympathies?

She's always been smug and holier than thou, just far less so than Tom. He demands utter loyalty & devotion from his partners, anything less and he thinks it's OK to cheat. 40+ years old and he still can't man up and end a relationship when he's not happy. Heck, even Jax was capable of that.

  6. Even with a strong dislike of Angelina, I still misted up watching her meet her family. The aunt/sister/cousin were all cool but her dad was walking red flag. All he saw was dollar signs. I really hope that's not why she's crying in the previews.

Not looking forward to Ron drama.

  7. Finally caught up (Peacock schedule, no VPN yet for me) and I couldn't agree more on Messy Mitch. He's such a petulant man child. I applauded Anton for calling him out.

Speaking of Anton, why doesn't he garner more interest? Guessing it's a height thing.

I really hope Liberty eventually finds a decent man. Kaz too. I'm also rooting for Molly, Arabella & Hannah.

Chris is also on my shit list. Just because he was honest about being a douche to Arabella doesn't mean he wasn't a douche. His refusal to accept any blame is not attractive IMHO. I mean, we already have Toby for that!

I know the show was filmed last year not long after Scandoval but it’s been almost a year of Scandoval stuff so this episode was a bit boring to me.

Same. It's hard to comment on the episode content when so much has happened since it was filmed and social media if full of more recent news. My comments earlier in the thread on the house situation took into account things that have happened more recently, like Tom's publicized offer amount on the house. My bad.

Scheana's OCD seems like a chosen storyline to me. Summer's nearly 3 so this is either the 2nd or 3rd season since her birth. Scheana seemingly had no issue traveling without her to WWHL multiple times. IMHO, she will do or say anything for attention.

James commentary on the birthday party attendees was the highlight of the episode for me. As was watching famewhore Billie Lee chase the cameraman around!

  9. Ariana's lost me with her position on the house. I fully get not wanting lose her investment but if he's willing & able to buy her out at fair market value, she should take the money & run. The emotional war is not healthy & I can't imagine living in that environment.

Scheana's never looked better, that hair cut & color are perfection. But, the neverending need to make EVERY SINGLE THING about her & her feelings is utterly unbearable.

  10. After hate watching my way through BDM, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this episode. Yes the cast will be a hot mess but I like Kerry & Fraser and I actually found some of the crew background stories a bit interesting.

The guests on the other hand were tasteless and obnoxious. I'm all for be vocal about your sexuality and be a crass as any sailor in the right situation. However, screaming about sucking dick at dinner isn't that situation.

Early bets: Jared & Barbie are definite short timers.

I love Kate, but I don't see why she was brought back

Didn't they bring in people mid-season last year too, or was that only on the UK version?  I'm guessing they did it to help the faithful both with strategy and with an extra body.

If so many people suspect Parvati, why is she never mentioned in the roundtable? Unfortunately, most of them can't seem to get out of their own way, letting petty grievances and slights sway voting. They were so close to getting Dan, then Janelle blew it by fighting with Sandra.

The missions are the most enjoyable aspect of this show yet I feel like they've been minimized this season, at least in editing.

  12. Was the humming/chanting we heard at Iñupiat rally real or just in Leia's head? I feel like we also heard it at another point in the episode but I can't remember where.

My logical brain trying to weed through all the “voodoo, E.T., cosmic, choompa-loompa bullshit” brings me to who would want the scientists dead? What did they uncover? Combining that with who wanted Annie dead, I'm lead to the mine. Have I missed background info on who runs/owns it?

I didn't get this either. I guess maybe she knows he'd say he didn't have it and she'd have to get a search warrant or something, so it was just faster to ask Peter to steal it for her.

She did ask him directly for the file and he denied having it, which is why she asked Pete to get it for her.

I suffered through S1 (not my cup of tea) and decidedly skipped S2/3. Here for Jodie Foster and the interesting locale. Enjoying it thus far, and excited that it's a mini-series with an already shot ending. I don't mind supernatural, outerworldy, open to interpretation dramas when they're well written. I just don't have the patience for the making up shit to keep the seasons coming writing they did/are doing for Lost, Yelllowjackets, etc.

So happy to see Jodie back acting and this role seems like it was written just for her.

Fave character is the Navarro's hookup, the bartender, and his spongbob toothbrush and beautiful alaskan malamutes. Please don't let anything bad happen to him or the doggies.

  15. ^to be fair, the exact same sentiment applies to Ariana with Tom. Golden Nugget anyone?

The real difference is Raquel's betrayal of Ariana, how she pretended to be such a good friend, all the while actively banging her man.

We've known Tom was a snake since since S2 :)

  16. London, UK: why did it have a murphy bed?  The apartment wasn't a studio. Although odd, it had a full living room/lounge upstairs with the kitchen. I'd replace it with an actual bed.

It was nice to see them choose the location that worked best for their lifestyle rather than complain about the lack of a second bedroom for all their visitors.

I found it interesting that Erika knew all the correct answers to Sutton's questions vs. the others. I wasn't sure how to take that: did Erika know all those things because she was gathering intel about Sutton, or do they have more of an offline friendship than I had given them credit for?

I couldn't decide when watching that scene.

Some people are better at remembering details. I also think Erika is more observant that most and feels a certain kinship with Sutton because they're both from the South.

Annmarie is obnoxious and annoying as hell but I hope everyone remembers who directed her to go after Sutton/Crystal.

Dorit looks like a tweaking meth head in her interviews.

he actual production is outsourced and it's about branding, which comes from mass media exposure of the show.

99% of brands outsource all or part of their manufacturing production. That's how they scale/grow. Is he supposed to be hand sewing 100,000 pillows in his garage?

The brand isn't doing $10M+ in annual revenue and operating a bricks & mortar retail store based solely on fan support. National retailers like Home Goods and Kroger/Ralphs aren't carrying the brand because Craig's name. Most outside of this forum have no idea who he is or his relation to Sewing Down South. The retailers see a product that will sell, and customers see a cute pillow at the store and buy it.

Heck, I'm anti-Kardashian yet I love my Skims bralettes and buy them (on sale) in spite of them because just they're fantastically comfortable. A good product will sell while a crap product isn't going to gain market share year over year, even with a celebrity tie-in.

IMHO, Craig should be applauded for successfully turning his creative outlet of sewing into a potentially long lasting career he seemingly enjoys. Especially in contrast with the majority of the cast who seem quite content to live off their family money or bravo paycheck.

  19. Craig's not a paid spokesman for Sewing Down South, nor is he merely a celebrity endorser. He's co-owner. The company was founded by him & college friend, Jerry. They brought on Amanda to help with branding.

Launching a business and growing it from nothing to  $10M+ revenue in ~3 years is impressive in any industry. Not sure why he would be criticized for partnering with people to turn his idea into reality.

Should he have sat around living off Bravo money instead?

  20. Monica represents what the whole Housewives franchise has become. The casts are full of women (and their husbands) who want to be famous. She's just the most egregious example, with all the stalking & strategic angling to get on the show. NJ has at least two housewives who run (or have family members running) burner instagram accounts/finstas to promote their "side" and bash the "other".

That said, I completely understand why the SLC ladies would never trust her. Plus, who even knows what's real or fake with her and her story. I still think the Mom drama was (at least partly) concocted/amplified for the show. Hope they saved some of that Bravo money!!

I still don't understand black eye gate and the coverup. Heather's acting like an abused spouse. Was Jen really that powerful/dangerous?  Is that the reason why they're all kissing Mary's ring and trying to buddy up with her now?  Is she the new SLC scion?  Make it make sense.
