S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
As far as RHOBH goes, I think the HW who best maintained control of her emotions while taking others to task for being shits (like Brandi & Kim) is Eileen Davidson. I know people thought she was boring, but she was so even keel during arguments. Truly a sight to behold. Eileen's brand of conflict management is goals for me. 😂- 243 replies

I'm wondering if it's about the baby storyline too. Not that I blame her given her past miscarriages and difficult pregnancies.

Apparently, within the past 24 hours, Boz posted a IG Story that's supposed to read as cryptic (but it's likely a misdirect) and as if she might not come back for a second season. The text of her IG Story reads in full as: The link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEk9Vd3PJlf/?igsh=YWRmeHhoMDk5Ym5z

S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I have a mild conspiracy theory floating around my head, based off what we've been saying here. *puts on tinfoil hat* I'm starting to wonder if producers wanted to go after Kyle (and drive her off the show), but through Garcelle, and that's why Garcelle was harping on the Morgan crap. But . . . Maybe producers were also setting up Garcelle for a fall as well in having her be "their voice" on the show. Look at drama it did stir up! I know there are fans who swear that some HWs are producer/Andy favorites, and they'll never be fired from the show, but I'm not so sure about that. They literally got rid of all the OG RHONY women and rebooted that franchise. A lot of those OGs are still fan favorites for their messiness onscreen, and yet they're out there peddling their having been on a HWs show so that they can still make money off their notoriety. RHOBH has, basically, in my opinion, hit a wall at this point. I'm not sure what's left for the current HWs. They're all kind of boring now, and the only thing keeping this franchise chugging along are the staged bullshit fights that get even nastier with each passing season. Generally speaking, I think most fans are tired of the argument retreads that never die, let alone get anywhere close to a resolution. I can see producers mulling the possibility of rebooting this franchise too. They'll start by driving HWs off the show, instead of outright firing them. *removes tinfoil hat* -
S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I'm highlighting this because (and don't judge me) on Rinna and Harry Hamlin's podcast, Harry addresses the issue of spouses (i.e. significant others in general) on the show. Harry brought up the fact that he was grateful to production for letting him have a clause in his contract, in which he only needed to show up for a handful of episodes. Harry said he had no interest in becoming an actual cast member, but that plenty of the other husbands were more than happy to have as much camera time as possible. He didn't name names, though. 😂 This is kind of similar to the shit the FFF pulled by bringing Brandi back on so that she could claim a sexual relationship with Denise, and then the FFF could use that to take her down. -
Garcelle Beauvais: Coming to Beverly Hills
Surrealist replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Exactly. I think it's smart of Garcelle to leave while she still has a ton of goodwill from fans, and is still a fan favorite. She's got a ton of professional stuff happening in her life, and this show has served its purpose for her. -
S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I can't believe you missed that moment in your first watch. I clocked it right away. 😂 I understand where Garcelle is coming from, and it's super frustrating that Kyle gets to decide what she will, and will not, show on camera. But everyone else is expected to be entirely open and honest about their lives. If I were Garcelle, I would've directed my anger at Andy and the producers for letting Kyle get away with whatever she wants on the show. Sutton isn't responsible for what Kyle does. Neither are any of the other ladies. Garcelle would have had an argument if the ladies randomly decided to pile on her during the Reunion, for any reason. However, this was about Garcelle being annoyed that Sutton wouldn't stick out her neck again over the Kyle/Morgan relationship. No friend is obligated to get involved with someone else's takedown. Something like that can have a lot of unnecessary and unforeseen consequences for everyone involved. Sutton hammered Kyle over that shit last season, so it's not as if she's been cowering in a corner over this the entire time. Sutton took a lot of shit for doing that. I also remember Garcelle chiming in about it. Others have mentioned past details in this thread, so I won't belabor that stuff again. I'll keep that for discussing tomorrow's second Reunion episode after it's aired. 😉 I'm not going to fully blame Garcelle for bringing up the Kyle/Morgan relationship again this season. Clearly she's frustrated with the hypocrisy when it comes to Kyle. And frankly, I'm not sure how much the producers were in Garcelle's ear telling her to keep bringing up the matter. I think that's something we're all forgetting is how much producers are involved with pushing the narrative. So that's another reason I'm not fully side eyeing Garcelle. I don't think it was entirely her idea to bring up Kyle and Morgan, and it almost seems like the producers were kind of gunning for Kyle this season. But maybe I'm imagining that. Kyle is a woman who paraded around a much younger woman who's close to her daughters' ages and admitted to stalking Morgan on IG. She's kept Mau at bay with her midlife crisis and now that he's over it and moved on to dating younger women (and seemingly loving his life), she seems to have some regret. He wasn't going to wait around forever for her to get her shit together, but none of the ladies were allowed to openly address what was going on? Morgan chose to be on last season. I don't know. That whole thing is weird to me, but it's none of my business, and it seems that, ultimately Sutton felt the same way, which is why she opted not to bring it up again at the Reunion. I don't think it's because she wants Kyle to be her BFF. At this point, Sutton's heard Kyle say TWICE that she doesn't give a shit about her, so I imagine Sutton's got other ideas. I wasn't cool with Garcelle outing Sutton onstage over the Morgan shit. That has nothing to do with her, and Kyle isn't going to budge any further with talking about Morgan on camera, so it seems like a waste of energy to keep picking at it. Personally, I think Kyle needs to move on from the show and go live her life. Technically, she doesn't need the money either, and she's been an actress for decades. So, I imagine she can get more acting jobs.- 243 replies

I don't follow the subs anymore, but one of them still pops up in my Reddit front page feed. There was a thread about Boz and Garcelle meeting up to discuss things. The one where Boz asked for tea on the other ladies, but Garcelle kept quiet and said she wanted Boz to draw her own conclusions, basically. One of the commenters pointed out that Boz admitted to having watched the show, and therefore would've seen the seasons where Dorit and Erika were shit toward Garcelle, and to Garcelle's son, and yet, she still rides for them anyway. I think that sums up why I've been on the fence about Boz because, while she is definitely a boss, I don't understand why she's riding for Dorit and Erika (who are both terrible people).

S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I can't believe we have two more Reunion episodes to slog through. This forum is going to be a mess. 🤣 -
So yesterday, I listened to a couple of episodes each of both Crystal & Cynthia's podcast, and Rinna & Harry Hamlin's. Just to get a feel of what those were like, and surprisingly I enjoyed them equally. I listened to the episode where Crystal talks about the "14 friends" b.s. (more like 7). I walked away with a better understanding of what happened, and how that affected how she projected herself on the first season of RHOBH. She started to cry a bit at the end. Also, I've never watched Atlanta, but Cynthia seems really cool and she's a joy to listen to as well. I listened to Rinna and Harry's episode where Lisa talked about Lois's run-in with that serial killer. Holy shit. The details were brutal, and even Harry didn't know every little detail about what happened. Lois had metal plates put into her head and lost her sense of smell. She didn't tell Lisa why she had metal plates put into her head until Lisa was 18. But anyway, Harry brought up the fact that everyone thinks she's a villain because of how she played it on the show, but that the real life Lisa isn't anywhere near that same person. Rinna seemed far more normal and subdued on the podcast. I mean, she's still Rinna, but isn't acting nuts. She didn't call anyone out by name on the show, but used their first initial instead. A listener asked what her RHOBH dream cast would be, and Lisa said the FFF, Eileen, Yolanda, and even LVP and BRANDI (which blew my mind), but she was thinking in terms of a cast who would really bring it, and she's not wrong with them.

I also think that, initially, people were on Brandi's side because of how public her divorce was and because the HWs were always ganging up on her for every little thing. Brandi's flame out is probably the show's worst because she went all the way down to the gutter toward the end of her run, especially with regard to her feuding with Joyce (which turned full-blown racist). I have no idea why the hell Brandi thought no one would care she went there. Now she's pretty much universally hated by the show's fans.

S14.E18: Reunion Part 1

This had me cracking up. 🤣 I agree with you about Sutton's lack of composure in confrontation, and in defending herself. It's something she desperately needs to work on. She needs to learn to take emotion out of arguing, as difficult as that sometimes is to do. -
Ah, I watched that dinner party clip of Dorinda telling Candace "Wanna know how I'm doing? Not well bitch." But I didn't know the full backstory on why Dorinda was being hostile toward her. Wasn't Candace a friend of Sonja's? Sometime I should watch those seasons, maybe. Lol ETA: This is what I just found:

S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I wish Bravo would leave them in! -
I apologize! I assumed grief was part of it. I've only seen a handful of episodes from the earlier seasons she wasn't on, so I don't know every facet of their backstories. 😬 I should ask my cousin, who's responsible for me tuning into RHOBH (because I recognized who some of the ladies were from the jump), and ask if she knows more about the Dorinda stuff to get her take on it. 🤔 I trust her observations.
-
For what it's worth, I realize Dorinda's problems are fueled by her alcoholism and grief over her second husband's death. These aren't problems that Rinna had, although I suspect Brandi might be an alcoholic.
-
Exactly! What's hilarious is that I remember the one Reunion where Rinna said to Brandi, "Whatever happened to you as a child to make you this way?" And Brandi responded that she had a great childhood. Brandi's main issue was that she never got over Eddie cheating on her with Leann Rimes, and then they eventually married (still married too!). She took her anger out on everyone else because of that, and not because she had a shitty childhood. Rinna stepped way over the line, and even Andy was done with her by the end of Lisa's run. I get the impression it's similar to how he felt with Dorinda (who had become increasingly nasty and cruel toward her castmates). I saw this on IG, and it's a recent interview. It's just a couple of screenshots, but seems clear that Boz isn't Kyle's biggest fan, even though this season has ended. We mentioned at the same time! 😂

S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
One thing I really like about Boz is the way she confronted Dorit about Dorit's fight with Sutton. She pointed out how Sutton apologized and that she needs to accept that and move forward. Boz also held Dorit accountable for her role in her spat with Sutton. Boz also spent time with Sutton alone to hear her side. Boz didn't need to walk away from that exchange as Sutton's friend, but that's how I think you best manage interpersonal conflict. Boz made Dorit feel heard and respected, while also pointing out where she might be in the wrong without insulting/yelling at her, or trashing her in THs. A lot of the fights on this show skew passive aggressive, so I respected that Boz acted maturely and tried to handle things in the proper manner. I'm kind of on the fence about Boz, but I do like how she handles conflict resolution. The other ladies could learn from her. -
Rinna had one of the worst pivots on the show. Initially, she was ridiculous because she played it as if this were another soap opera job, but then she decided to turn mean. I wish I kind of understood what her strategy was in doing that. I don't think it had (entirely) to do with Lois dying either. That became a convenient excuse for her meanness, however.

S14.E18: Reunion Part 1
Surrealist replied to Salacious Kitty's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I agree with @Yours Truly in that Garcelle has been trying to develop a relationship with the others. Despite the fact she'll point out the ways in which Sutton puts her foot in her mouth (or whatever), it's not going to be enough for them. They wanted Garcelle fully on their side against Sutton. They've been trying to drive Sutton off the show pretty much from the time Sutton showed up. They were never going to be happy with Garcelle being friendly with Sutton and with them. Obviously all these ladies come onto the show to promote themselves, their brand, and their new projects (Garcelle, Boz, Sutton, Erika, and Dorit). I think Kyle did this as a way to re-ignite her acting career, which I suppose puts her in that previous category I mentioned. I think they've been pretty strategic about what they're doing on the show, but Sutton, Erika, and Dorit have faltered a lot for various reasons. Out of the three, I don't think Erika and Dorit were mainly on this show looking for new friends, as where I think Sutton kind of was (in addition to the fashion line, etc.). I'm confident Sutton was the one who said Dorit approached her to remind Sutton that they were doing a job. In hindsight, a lot of Sutton's reactions and this season's flame out makes sense when you keep that in mind. I think that's why it might seem I'm defending her. I can see that reading my previous responses in this thread. I have had my issues with her this season. For sure. I'm just tired of seeing people act like the FFF have never done wrong, and if anyone reacts to them, then that person's the real evil on the show. This is what's pissing me off the most. Not that Sutton is always right or innocent, but that she takes a lot of shit that should also be directed at a lot of the other HWs who've done worse shit. No one on this show is an innocent little lamb. I want to see the vitriol applied evenly across the board with all the HWs. So that's where I'm at right now. 😂 "The eyes are poppin'." I've watched a handful of the OG RHONY eps on the HWs Pluto TV channel. Those women are off-the-chain, but Ramona is WOW. 🤣
