Turandot. The ultimate figure skating warhorse. If you don't hear Nessun Dorma, it ain't a real skating event. That lawsuit is petty as fuck. We have child abuse allegations, doping, and THIS is what brings Figure Skating to court?

Maybe they're making another Plushenko Platinum medal for her?

Or they drugged her. If Eteri herself dragged her ass out of the arena at 3:00 AM, there was probably verbal abuse and threats to put on a good face.
-
In other words, Hubbell and Donohue using it last year were perfectly suited to it? Fake horny, but you know....

For me, they're a breath of fresh air. And a change from the same old, same old, classic Russian style of Pairs, which usually puts me to sleep. And what was the first thing I heard when I turned on the teevy this morning. Hallelujah. The same version as Mariah used last night (k.d. lang, right?) I like that version, but come ON. I notice that Carmen has been given a rest (for now), can we add Hallelujah and Bolero to the cease and desist list?

Sui and Han are simply amazing. Cheering for them to get that OGM! UGH. I never cared for Tarasova and Morozov, but now seeing who their coach is? Fuck no. I did notice that Eteri was behind the boards during the warm up, but she did not sit with them in the Kiss and Cry as their scores came in. I wonder if she purposely stayed out of the Kiss and Cry due to the bad press she's getting after yesterday? Not that she's ever shown that kind of self-awareness. Eteri seems more like a "fuck you all" kind of person. NBC showed her behind the boards and then cut to Thomas Bach's presser and comments about her. LOL. Nicely done, NBC. Do you think that Tamara Moskvina wants to knee cap Eteri? "Stay out of my lane, bitch." And HELL YEAH to Knerim/Frazier (6th) and Cain-Gribble/LeDuc (7th). Great skates! I can't remember, is the pairs final group the Top Five or Top Six. Knerim/Frazier being sixth would be amazing accomplishment to be in the final group, but if memory serves, it's the Top Five.

Mike Tirico hit the sweet spot in closing tonight's NBC coverage. I cannot remember it verbatim, but he burned the Sambo 70 house down. Eloquently, of course. He mentioned there being a IOC (?) press conference tonight in which they addressed the Ladies Event and ripped into Team Tutberidze's cold blooded conduct in the aftermath. GOOD. FINALLY. “Guilt by association is often unfair but it’s called for here…a failed drug test has tarnished one of the most marquee events of the games and taken away from every skaters moment but now it’s time for the IOC to stand up…if swift action from the Olympic movement does not happen quickly the very future of the games could be in jeopardy.” "Tremendous coldness," indeed! ETA: From an AP article: BEIJING (AP) — The Latest on the Beijing Winter Olympics: International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach has criticized Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva’s entourage for their “tremendous coldness” toward the 15-year-old skater after her mistake-filled free skate at the Beijing Olympics. Bach says it was “chilling” to see on television. Valieva, who has been at the center of a controversy over a positive doping test, finished fourth overall despite placing first in the women’s short program earlier in the week. The IOC president did not name Valieva’s coach, Eteri Tutberidze, who was seen on camera telling a visibly upset Valieva “Why did you let it go? Why did you stop fighting?” Bach says “you could feel this chilling atmosphere, this distance.” Tutberidze and other members of Valieva’s entourage will be investigated over the teenager’s positive test for a heart medication ahead of the Olympics. Bach says the pressure on Valieva was “beyond my imagination.”

New angles from this morning's show. It is cut back a little for Prime time. Anyone who just watched NBC's evening broadcast got about half the drama. Very little of Sasha's rages. I saw the full meltdown on Peacock. I don't know if they removed it or edited it since. I also DVR'd the morning live broadcast. Full meltdown mode, there, too.

Skating While Russian Adjacent? I just rewatched my DVR of this morning's live shit show. And what completely burned me was Eteri's heartlessness. The woman is a monster. Not only did she berate Kamila as soon as she got off the ice, reducing her to hysterics, but then walked away from her and stomped toward the kiss and cry. Daniil had his arm around Kamila and led her over to get her scores. That heinous bitch couldn't be bothered. Then the woman in the aqua vest (a Russian coach?) comforted Kamila after she got her scores, pointed out her Russian teammates cheering for her in the stands. Rubbed her back. Eteri? Nowhere to be seen. THEN we have Anna. Standing alone. Looking lost. No coach to comfort or congratulate her. She just won an Olympic Gold Medal and stood there as if the vet was putting her dog to sleep. Finally after about fifteen fucking minutes, Eteri came over and hugged her. It looked about as warm and fuzzy as a root canal. Anna seems like a very sweet girl. She didn't deserve that. And Sasha. Angry tears. I didn't care for her before, but after watching her angrily shake Eteri's arm off her shoulders and basically telling everyone around her that they were motherfuckers, I kinda like her. The daggers she shot at Anna on the podium makes me worry for Anna's safety. But, honey...quads aren't everything. Jesus christ.

I flipped over to the US hockey game on USA when the dopers all skated. I know the other two haven't been caught, but the likelihood of Constant Bitch Face only drugging ONE of her skaters and not the others, seems awfully slim. I can't say anything that hasn't been already said about the bullshit scoring. I wish the Japanese would stop being so damned polite and speak up for their skaters. Sic the Fanyu's on the Russians and especially Sambo 70.

Loud applause for the cheater. Eff off, assholes.

I think skating BEFORE her would be more preferable to skating after her, though. Jesus. Seeing Constant Bitch Face out there with her trio of dopers for the warm up makes my blood boil. A Russian Twitter account tried putting me in a group called "Child Haters." LOL. BLOCK. Yeah, right, Sergei. You support putting drugs in teenager's bodies, and I'M the child hater. Take an abundance of seats.

I think we know what "the look" is code for. So, yeah. They want a Zach Donohue. Tall, decent looking, and douchetastically straight (basically willing to wear a "I bang chicks" t-shirt to the practice rink).

I about fell off the couch when Johnny declared the ruling wrong, staing that Kamila should NOT be allowed to skate, and backed up Tara. I also noticed that Johnny and Tara were dressed in a rather subdued manner (well, for them), which I can only assume was to convey the seriousness of the situation. Ice Dance comment: Who's idea was it to have the third Russian team (you know who's daughter) skate to Moulin Rouge? Oh yeah, let's have a very young team, who still skate like the ice is made of oatmeal, and have them perform to a piece of music that has your mind immediately go to Virtue and Moir, of all people. Jesus. Dumb.

You have got to be shitting me. Oh, FFS. The chutzpah of the ROC. Yeah, let's blame Grandpa instead of her coaches. The evil runs deep. Another fangirly moment. Jean-Luc Baker liked one of my tweets!

That article linked about, regarding the accents was really interesting to me. According to his assessment, Driver has some work to do before he takes on Enzo Ferrari.

The Fanyu's on Twitter. Lord have mercy. One poster claims to be a skating judge, and declared, "I have re-watched and re-scored the top four of the Men's Event and these are the scores that they SHOULD have been given," and the Fanyu's were all over it. Thanking him, and asking if they can now call their Precioussssss a "three time OGM." (shades of Plushenko in 2010, with his "Platinum Medal") Of course, in this "reworking of the scores," it's a Japanese medals sweep and Nathan comes in fourth. Good god. Pooh Boy fell. TWICE. The placements of the top four are pretty proper, as far as most can see. The problem being is that these delusional Pooh-worshipping crackpots, send their "findings" to the ISU. I know Hanyu is a brilliant skater and seems to be a sweet guy. I actually feel sorry for him. But his fans make me want to see him retire. Give me the good old days of the Virtue and Moir basement children. If only Hanyu had skated in the Team event. They'd be allll over this Russian doping scandal and making a ton of noise about it. Meagan Duhamel "liked" my Tweet!!!! Fangirling!

So, they're going to keep delaying the Team medal ceremony until possibly after the Olympics end, according to articles that I've seen. So, basically, it's the U.S., Japanese and Canadian skaters who are being punished. No medals to pose with. No ceremony, and no watching their flags being raised. No photo/video with all the rest of the medalists. And they will sit by powerless while Constant Bitch Face reigns over the ladies event and her skaters that she feeds drugs to, sweep the podium. Thanks to the ROC and their always willing accomplices at the ISU and IOC. Most of the Team medalists will ONLY medal in that event. It was their moment. Now, they're not getting it. They'll get their medal in a box delivered by the Fed Ex guy. Fuck you, ROC. Rooting for C/B on that podium. And even H/D if it means keeping Vikki and Nikki off of it.

I think we can safely assume that a 15 year old kid was just doing what she was ordered to do, and the real villains are her coaching team. Especially in THAT environment. Do what the evil bitch says or there are a dozen girls behind you that can take your place and get the preferential treatment and good ice times. Kamila will take the fall for either not knowing what she was being given, or too scared to tell them NO when ordered to take it. NBC strangely silent on everything, and we know they've never met a storyline that they couldn't blow the fuck out of proportion. The U.S. team possibly moving up to Gold Medal position? They need the juicy story to up the ratings. They must be chomping at the bit to release the hounds. Or they're busy talking Johnny off of the nearest ledge.

Isn't a "heart medication" what Russia got popped for in the past? Gee, how will they be punished now? Not be able to call themselves Russia....oh wait. Not be able to use their flag and anthem....oh, wait. Those "punishments" certainly taught them a lesson. Oh, I know. Give them their team Gold and slap them upside the heads with them and say, "Naughty, naughty cheaters. Carry on."

Pills don't have calories, right? She's a 15 year old kid. Someone either dropped the ball in getting her ADHD meds approved (if she was legally prescribed them), or that heinous bitch is giving her skaters drugs. There are reasons that students who get caught with their ADHD meds in their lockers are suspended. They can sell them. If you don't need ADHD meds, it acts as an upper, and an APPETITE SUPPRESSANT. I had actual an ADULT ask if they could buy my son's Concerta when the doctors changed his dosage and I had a full bottle of the old. They keep you alert and make you feel full for HOURS. I tried one. It worked. So I flushed them before my former eating disorder could pop in and voice its opinion. If it's weed, that's just plain STUPID.

Nice that Eteri puts a self portrait on her skater's costumes, in case they forget that she's standing and watching across the rink.

Woah! Seriously? Perhaps Tara and Johnny should have mentioned it....snark. Seriously, those two have the unique ability to make me root against 15 year old children, usually Russian ones, by drooling, fawning and over-annunciating their names (just Johnny on that one). Well, my thought are that if Nathan had skated the long, we wouldn't have been sweating the silver, but no harm, no foul, in the end. Upsetting the Russians for gold would have been a "do you believe in miracles" level kind of miracle. But it was sure nice to see them sweat and bitch about their scores. Chock and Bates beating Vikki and Nikki? NICE!!! Fist pumping moment. I'm sure if H/D had been the only ones to do it, the ice would have cracked under the weight of all that sanctimony. Glad to see C/B also get the 10 points. I hope this bodes well for both teams in the Dance event. And how funny for G/P to go from Tangerine Terror to classic beauty. As pretty as they were, that disco outfit and Todd Parker/Boogie Nights porn 'stache were still was in the back of my mind. I wonder if Kamila was so upset about her fall because she knew that Darth Tutberidze would withhold her nightly cheese cube meal (reference: Emily, Devil Wears Prada)
