  1. I wasn't all that crazy about the CO either, but Chloe T certainly gave it her all with confidence, mad respect to her. I've been very impressed with her since she joined the show. Adam is a great host, and on the shallow side, he was looking good last night.
  2. That's not fair disparaging Chloe in comparison to Cass. Cass has always been one of my favorites from that era. Chloe has a great voice and is her own person.
  3. I own the Rudolph DVD so I will watch several times. Santa Claus with Jessica's Acid Trip is best watched while drinking wine.
  4. With respect, I don't see a physical resemblance between Pete and Devon. They both have nice smiles. And the cue card comment? Unfair.
  5. I'm not sure if this belongs here but Dana Carvey's son Dex has died due to a drug overdose. So very sad.
  6. I just got around to watching tonight. Aside from the musical guest, for which I hit the scan button on the DVR, I thought it was a fairly solid opener. Random thoughts: Pete's remarks during the cold open set just the right tone. Someone upthread mentioned a soft spot for Pete. I'm the same. I've liked him from his first appearance as SNL's "resident young person".I want him to succeed and be healthy. I liked the NFL sketch, loved Mikey and Damon's bracelets. Heidi's fall onto the desk? I laughed out loud. Very Chevy-like. Kenan is very funny. He is the heart and soul of SNL. Jost and Che make me happy. Laughed and cringed at Glamgina, my spell check is confused. I'm so over Taylor. Everyone else can enjoy themselves.
  7. Not surprised, but still unfortunate.Hope an agreement can be reached shortly.
  8. Agree totally on the parody idea.almost 50 years later and I giggle when I think of Chevy and his Ford.."give me the ball, Liberty!" It was the idea of Ford being a well meaning doofus that was funny, not an on point imitation. For the other side of the coin..Phil Hartman's scary accurate Phil Donahue.
  9. Based on some posts here,I'm wondering if I watched the same show. Because I enjoyed it. I liked the CO because..no politics.i liked the school game show, especially Kenan trying so hard not to break at Mikey's yelling. The Waffle House pretape had me rolling. WU is my highlight every week. Jost and Che have such a rapport that when their era ends, I'll be sad. Ego was the highlight of the Exorcist sketch. She is very talented. Even the jingle sketch had a joyful silliness. My only comment..why is Molly only seeming to be there to fill a "Addy Bryant dressed like a guy" space? Brendon Frazier and Governor Randy? In the same show. Was this the only reason they were hired! Ending on the positive, Devon Walker has a joyful smile and appears to really be loving what he's doing. Hoping for more from him.
  10. I don't think the sketch was attacking Austin Butler at ALL. I saw it as more of an attack on "method" actors. Besides..no one better be picking on Austin. Yes, I have a bit of a crush. I thought the highlight of the prison sketch was Kenan and Chloe talking to each other at the same time. That has to be so difficult to do without losing the train of thought or laughing. I couldn't do it. The Gym sketch was so off the wall, loved it. "A large piano, sir."..I LOL'd. A meh show with highlights.
  11. I had no idea who Kelsea Ballerini was She's big in country music, on the Opry regularly.
  12. I guess I'll be at my table all alone, because I like Sarah. She has a unique style.
  13. I enjoyed the show a bit more than last week's. Michael B brought a lot of energy and talent. And introduced us to Pop and Lock. Mercy. Regarding the CO..an example of SNL, as Lorne said decades ago, of "taking the moment to comment on the moment". Of course, SNL has often done this, notably after 9-11 and the Sandy Hook shooting. Last night set just the right tone with Kenan's comment. Tears here in Ohio.
  14. Just watched the cold open and the monologue..and all I can say is: Akira Yoshimura is still at SNL! COOL! He's a legend.
  15. I had seen AB in Elvis so I knew he was talented. What I didn't know was how charming and humble he was. I teared up during his monologue, my Mom passed away 3 years ago so my heart went out to him. He was fully engaged in every sketch and was obviously having a great time. Blue Christmas was absolutely the best way to say goodbye to Cecily. I have to give props to Kenan. He is the heart, soul, and face of SNL and the right guy to lead the goodbye last night. He made me tear up, as did Colin.Poor Colin. Now..have to comment on Casual Elvis's jeans, t-shirt, and leather jacket. Mercy. *fans self*
  16. I thought the show was consistently funny throughout. When icons host, the current cast steps it up a notch. And I have to share some Sarah Silverman love. I think she is a unique voice and she caught my attention the first time she appeared. And I was secretly wishing for some Steve banjo.
  17. I WANTED to like the show, but Kristen rubbed off on me,and I was bored.Such a contrast to last week's high energy show with the charisma of Chance The Rapper.
  18. over Baldwin(of course way over trump).Chance The Rapper is charming, and very talented. That's the episode in a nutshell for me
  19. Always liked Jenny, glad for her success, love how she ignored Gillis, but don't believe for one moment she doesn't know who's on the show now,she worked with Kenan, for one.As I say, love her,so not attacking.
  20. nice interview. I wouldn't say she's most beloved,but I do like Kate.
  21. Absolutely.I know that Lorne (and probably others) are trying to help him,but I'm concerned too. I like Pete, always have, and I wish him nothing but good health and happiness.
  22. I just love that it was Mikeys son..another reason to love Mikey.
