  1. I don’t have an issue with the Batwoman casting. I’ve never seen her in anything so I can’t make a judgement on her acting or ability to play the character. My only hope is that her introduction is a one and done for the crossover and they don’t carry her over to any other episodes of Arrow. I’m at my limit for Arrow losing story focus to launch other shows. So an introduction is okay, but then leave everything else to be explored in the pilot.
  2. It actually would not surprise me at all if JH was overly excited about a GA/BC storyline and team up. Maybe she hopes to finally get an opportunity to play out that deep “connection” Dinah has with Oliver that she frequently talks about in interviews, but has never actually appeared onscreen. For my part, an Oliver/Dinah “hard travelling heroes” road trip provokes a very real and deep level of apathy. I simply do not care about Dinah as character in the story in any way.
  3. Blurry script pages that give me Felicity spoilers will draw me back in to Arrow every.single.time. I was kind of meh about the return of Agent Watson because it felt like they were piling on to some of the more poorly thought out parts of S6 (more Dragon, more NTA, more BS), but giving her a connection to Felicity has sparked my interest.
  4. Sydelle Noel appears to be back in Vancouver. Maybe Agent Watson is making a return appearance?
  5. Considering that none of these guys complained that the show was “Laurel and Friends” when they were on their fourth consecutive season of Lance family drama and did a father/not his actual daughter Lance family plot in season 6, I’m going to go with no, they wouldn’t think it was soapy if Laurel had a pivotal role in Oliver’s married life/kid story.
  6. After a season that left a lot of people hoping NTA would leave town, I think it would be a risky to start off with minimal Felicity and a lot of Dinah and Rene. If they want people to give the new season a chance, it doesn’t seem like the best move to give more time to characters that aren’t popular, especially as some fans judge the first episode as an indicator of how they season will play out. I think if there isn’t a clear indicator of a story plan being set up for Felicity and Diggle, but one for Dinah and Rene is set up by the end of 701, it may not go over well.
  7. I wonder if the new approach in issuing redacted scripts is also an effort to hamper the paparazzi guys in Vancouver from spoiling storylines and scenes that aren’t filmed on location.
  8. I think Marc almost always overplayed what was coming which inevitably led to disappointment when what he teased never made it to screen. But Beth had gone too far the other way and isn’t releasing enough teases to get people suitably interested after an unbelievably frustrating season. They don’t even need to give away that much because most people are happy with snippets that they can theorise over until the premiere. It really shouldn’t be that hard to find a comfortable middle ground between too much information and too little.
  9. The thing for me with SDCC, and the interviews in general, is that it’s supposed to generate excitement amongst your audience / fanbase after a long hiatus, and in the case of Arrow, a less than satisfying season. If some of the cast don’t really seem to be interested in doing that, then they can’t be surprised if the audience don’t show up after they’ve been given very little or nothing to be curious about seeing. I’m the most disappointed in Emily and Echo at the round table interviews. In one post I saw they didn’t even give the reporters an opportunity to ask a single question. It was just off tangent jokes the entire time. If I was a reporter in that group, I’d be annoyed that they completely wasted my time, because everyone at that table is there to do job, including the actors.
  10. Oh, yay! Another season of misery! Beth may enjoy that aspect of the show creatively, but as a viewer it’s a chore to get through after six seasons.
  11. I’m a little apathetic about it and just crossing my fingers that they don’t do a variation of the “everyone is dead” mantra with the prison arc because they might not want to spoil how long it runs. I can’t imagine that they’ll tell us when Oliver might be released from prison or whether Felicity is still living under ARGUS protection, and hearing about what’s coming up for NTA and BS (seeing as they’re probably living consequence free ?) isn’t high on my list of “things I need to know about S7”.
  12. The TV Guide article hasn’t done anything to get me excited for S7. I’m particularly annoyed that it seems like they’re just going to sweep away all of the awful things that NTA did and go on like nothing happened. Having them get away completely free of any consequences for their actions during the team war is making me dislike them even more, which I didn’t even know was possible. I know they probably think all was forgiven by the characters in 623, but as a viewer, I haven’t forgotten the storyline and it didn’t do anything towards redeeming them for me. Continuing on with E2 Laurel’s “redemption” makes killing off original Laurel seem entirely pointless, and with Quentin gone which character is going to be hit with the stupid stick in an attempt to fit her into a show where she has no actual familial or friendship ties to any of Team Arrow? I hope Beth surprises me and manages to pull together a good season, but my expectations have been set to as low as possible.
  13. I might be misremembering but wasn’t S6 promoted as being a “lighter” season and then we got a nonsensical team war and Oliver ending up in prison? It makes me wonder how miserable this season might be if they’re promoting it as “fun”. ? And I don’t know how they “return to the roots of the series” while they have an enormous team of masks, one of whom as a meta-power, because early seasons of the show didn’t have super powers as a part of the show’s DNA. I hope it just means a return to being more grounded and less mystical/fantastical (looking at you magical super villain!). I remain cautiously optimistic for the season, even though Marc still being in the writer’s room makes me nervous.
  14. I think what makes it noticeable that Stephen hasn’t said anything about the play is that by comparison he posted about Carina getting her show pickup, the movie Aisha directed and the wrestling stuff with Cody Rhodes. I can’t really judge whether it means anything because I don’t know them, it just looks a little weird after all the wine promotion and friendship posts that nothing gets mentioned at all. It could also be that Emily prefers to not have any of them promoting things on her behalf.
  15. Whatever contract he has might mean Beth is stuck with him for the season. At the very least I hope she can minimise him or, as suggested above, stick him in scenes with BS for ease of fast forwarding. I still can’t quite believe that of all the villains they’ve had, they chose the underwhelming Diaz as the one that Oliver couldn’t defeat and to carry over for another season. ?
  16. If Stephen’s referring to Rene, Curtis and Dinah with this comment then I don’t think I’d classify what the writers did to them to as a “great job” when in came to weaving them into the show. They basically took three characters that fans were kind of okay with and turned them into characters a lot of fans now want off the show. I still don’t completely understand how MG and WM ended up veering so far off track in thinking they were telling an even handed story and completely misjudging where audience loyalties would lie with the team split.
  17. For me, having them expressing some remorse won’t make me love them, but I could maybe tolerate them being with the team in some capacity (preferably in the background) if they’re keeping them on the show. The way they left it, Dinah and Rene barely apologised, while Curtis never apologised at all, they suffered no consequences for anything they did and walked away free and clear. I need to see them at least acknowledge the role they played in everything that happened.
  18. He certainly has an inflated opinion of his importance to the show and his relevance to the Olicity fandom. I can’t say I’ve seen that many Olicity fans tweeting or tagging him directly. It sounds more like he’s playing up to the Reddit crowd than anything else. All I can say is that my Olicity loving self is just waiting for him to leave so that we can get a better villain, or at least one I can understand without closed captioning.
  19. I’m crossing my fingers that at least one of the fan “I would love to see” things we get is Felicity building Smoak Tech without Curtis trampling all over it. At the very least, I hope the new tech entrepreneur character is there mostly in support of Felicity’s story arc and not Curtis. Realistically, I know it’s probably not going happen but I can still have hope for it. As for the Olicity baby, David’s been dangling that spoiler since (I think) Nashville, spoiled it again in London and then confirmed / not confirmed it in Melbourne. Has he ever wavered on spoilers like that before?
  20. What I want to know is that if that fan has a history of trash talking his wife then why not call them out on any of their previous posts. If he thought he was on the moral high ground and justified in “clapping back”, then why did he hide behind his wife’s FB page to do so when he could just post from his own page. Do you think he sees the irony in this statement? The initial Instagram post may have been the starting point but I think it really snowballed out of control when he “dished it out” by calling someone an idiot and now he doesn’t seem to be enjoying the push back he’s getting. I think this is the best advice he gave in the whole video. I was following his SM but had gradually started to turn off notifications or mute but I’ve now unfollowed. I don’t usually have a problem separating character from actor, but he’s making it difficult at the moment so I think knowing a minimal amount about him personally is the best option for watching the show.
  21. I understand they have to have new characters to play against, but the last time they added so many new characters all at once we ended up with the newbies. If they are there to support stories for the core characters, then great. But if they end up being the shiny new toys that get more focus than the core characters, as we’ve seen happen before, then I have some concerns**. **I blame MG & WM for my continuing scepticism on how the show might handle new characters.
  22. Eight episodes would be a long time to leave Oliver in prison and isolated from the rest of the main cast. It’s one-third of the season. This is the one time I’d be more than happy for them to take a few story shortcuts so they can get Oliver out of prison, wrap up the lingering threads of season 6, and move on to something (hopefully) better.
  23. I know Reddit aren’t always the most reliable narrators but it sounds like Kirk is being his usual delightful self.
  24. I’m mildly curious to see how the writers deal with Curtis in S7. He doesn’t seem to have much fan support and nobody seems to want him in the company with Felicity and there wasn’t a great deal of interest in his vigilante life or his love life in S6. So what do they do with him and where do the put him that would cause the least amount of fan resistance if he’s staying on the show?
  25. Are they going to just brush over and hope that the audience forgets the whole Dinah seeks revenge on Laurel for the murder of her boyfriend, because that’s probably going to annoy me because they spent so much time on it as a plot point. At least putting Dinah and Laurel together will make it easier to fast forward through their scenes.
