One of the boys performed surgery on his sons face and viserys didnt give a fuck. He was more worried about the fact that people were talking shit about his grandkids. Otto's a piece of shit who's looking ahead to war, what's viserys's excuse? The fact that the only thing hes been shown to do with either daughter is teach one valeryian tells me that he doesnt give a shit about either one other than what they can do for him politically. Alicent 's considered the worst mother on the show and not even shes been that absent in her kids lives. I imagine that they had no choice in regards to Baela since it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that they killed Rhaenys's kid and likely had to try to make it up to her somehow. Since Baela was the oldest she was the one eligible for training and future rhaenys plots (which vaemond screwed up).

Thats another problem with the writing right there. The show briefly goes over this but without the necessary book knowledge, one would think that this show basically implies that she went there cuz she didnt want to be bothered by the political bullshit. Also, not knowing the going ons in kings landing is unacceptable for the heir. Even if Alicent and Otto were determined to keep them in the dark, either she shouldve had connections or Damon shouldve used his gold cloak connections to learn things. Honestly, the more I go through this show the more I see there are no good choices for king/queen. Just lesser evil choices. I hope whoever wins out at the end has a helluva hand, cuz they're gonna need it.

Other than that one scene of his teaching Baela Valeryian, hes done jackshit with his daughters. No comforting them over their lost mother, no bonding period. I find it a bit eye-opening that Rhae's asking rhaenys for permission to marry rhaenys's granddaughter to her sons when she lives with their father.

This also bugs me. Younger rhaenyra would not have put up with being called a whore. Older rhae is an entirely different story.

Can we talk about how most of these parents suck at training. viserys was bad at it. Jace just now learning Valarian doesn't speak well for Rhaenyra as does Lukes lack of driftmark training. I guess Baela got some training but that speaks more of Rhaenys then it does her parents. Lets not even get started on Alicent, other than Aemond who seems to have been motivated to get himself some training, her kids have just been left to their own devices.

Im not sure if showing that he holds a grudge was worth it to have people concentrating on who put the pig in front of him. Especially when previous scenes already established him as the biggest threat on the green side. I'll withhold further judgement pending the outcome of future meetings with the strong boys, (especially Luke).

Helena basically has the mind of a child, I doubt shed be better off marrying anybody. That being said theres been nothing that indicates that aemond's anger issues are so bad that hed take them out on his wife. The fact that he talked with reverence of her with his brother, tells me hed respect her.

Caring or family loyalty? They'd likely do what rhaenyss wants regardless of whether or not Baela wanted it. That being said, Aemond is greens only valuable piece ( can marry for an alliance), I doubt they'd waste their time trying to marry Aemond to either girl since neither side would get anything out of that arrangement.

I think the pig was coincidental. Joke doesnt even make sense at the moment. Honestly wish the show didnt even put that part in cuz it brings attention to something thats not even important in the grand scheme of things

Dont imagine Aemond would be too happy with the girls either. Only real dynamic i noticed is between aegon and baela and I hope they're not going down the sa path i think theyre going down

Yea he mightve escaped with exile and loss of a tongue if he wouldve just stuck with bastard, but once he called the crown princess a whore, it was pretty much over. He likely knew it was over too, he just didnt want to work somewhere for a bastard that didnt really earn it so he went all out.

Yea they failed twice with that. Once with Rhae not being in kings landing. I get that she cant be in kings landing for the story to move forward but still, is he expecting Rhae to just know how to rule and command respect from the council cuz he said so. Couldve been a bit more creative. Second time with driftmark. If she's expecting Luke to inherit it, why wouldnt she at least ask for Luke to be a ward of Rhaenys, Rhaenys is openly plotting to steal it right from under luke and she apparently didnt even notice. Dont know if thats a character flaw on her part or a flaw on the part of the writers

Other than Aegon, none of the kids are bad. Only thing Aemonds guilty of is being pissed at kids who poked his eye out for talking and defending his brother. Im sure in the future he might be bad, but at the moment, Ive yet to see anything that hes done thats been particularly heinous

So when the author himself says that nonsense that happened in season 8 was not his message, we should just tell him to stfu and stop lying cuz it was indeed his message since he has a producers credit, got it.

Except its literally not the author who did that last season its the showrunners. We dont know what the author is planning

Did she really follow her husband's wishes though? It seems like she was training Baela to take over Driftmark until her hand was forced. I get the feeling if Vaemond wouldn't have stepped forward, she'd be doing her damndest to make Baela the heir. She only acquiesced after it became obvious that was her only option. She's a veleron before a targ, I imagine that she loves him like family even if he was an idiot.

I'll be in the minority but I'll say it, Rhae's kids and damon's kids are boring as shit. Only kid of note from the four is Jace and thats only cuz hes about to be king. While we're at it, shouldn't Luke be a rhaenys ward since he's going to be ruling Drift mark. Why do you have the one person trained in running Drift mark by her grandmother as the queen on the iron throne. Should've swapped the girls. Aemond's that dude you want having your back. Everybody else preparing to rule or whatever else and this dude is prepared to go to war. I get the feeling if he catches luke or jace alone in an alley, it'll be curtains for them. Aegon on the other hand is gonna be the epitome of a bad king, drunk lustful, no filter. This civil war, green will go as far as aemond can carry them. Beware the beast beneath the boards wonder what that means. So it sounds like rhaenys and corlys have gone through the westeros version of a divorce. Six years seems a long time to be gone without returning home. I reckon laenors death really did break him. If he does survive I dont imagine that he can let the death of his son and his brother stand. Especially since its from the same people. Removing all the shades of grey from Daemons character is ruining the character. I know the beheading of Vaemond was supposed to show that hes still an anti-hero, but it seemed more try hard than anything. Rhaenyras a good mother, but Im gonna need more from her. I love that Alicent already seems in over her head. Nice final supper for Viserys, you will be missed.

Alicents actions with Larys are definitely sleazy, but huge difference between being sleazy and being a part of a murder. To make matters worse, her and daemon pretty much screwed over a staunch ally of theirs in following through on this action. Her actions are judged different than others cuz of the team shes on but that laenor business is really messed up
