  1. That kid from "Conscience" was pure evil. The minute he gave the fake apology to Crazy Cal, I was kind of hoping he'd get killed. I mean, killing kids is awful, but seeing as how he was a serial killer in training, it was kind of justified.

Oh, yeah.  And something I forgot to note.  You could see hints that he was hiding a smile, which was even more of a sign of his sociopathy.

On another note, what's with Kyle playing characters who lose their children?  His two different SVU characters each lose a son, and then, Cal loses Daisy?  Can't be a coincidence!

  2. I definitely agree with you about the circumstances surrounding why the son falsely accused his step-father. He was 11 years old and he was scared and confused so I can understand why he blamed his step-father. Having said that, I do think that he did deserve what his mother said to him because while I sympathize with the 11 year old, I don't with the 21 year old he was. He knew his step-father was in prison and wasn't going to get out. From what I saw, the son just decided to let him stay in prison for a horrible crime he didn't commit. That is heartless and cruel. I also saw no evidence that the son cared or even thought about what a hellish existence his step-father was enduring. He just went on living his life without any apparent remorse or concern for his actions. The only thing he actually cared about was his mom finding out what he had done. That's cowardly and heartless and I think it was the 21 year old man that the mom was talking to and not the scared 11 year old he had been. Given the fact that the son was obviously never going to speak up and tell the truth, I think what his mom told him wasn't harsh at all but well deserved.

Exactly, and when you add in the petty, childish reason why he never came clean -- that he wanted his mother all to himself and his brother, basically, and didn't want her to start a new family with his stepfather -- it only makes him come off even more heartless.  I actually took great pleasure in his crestfallen expression after his mother said what she said.

Anyway, this seems to not be gaining the traction I'd hoped, so I'll offer up a few more.

I cannot forget Missy Kurtz in "Damaged."  Gets her own little sister, Rebecca, of whom she's jealous is her adoptive parents' actual, biological child while she is not, molested by her boyfriend, Joey (and even by Missy herself at least once, which gave her gonorrhea!), and then, after she wakes up and threatens to tell their parents, arranges her murder and then has Joey off the one who commits the murder after, Eric, as well as accidentally killing an innocent man who happens to be on the scene at the time.  She does her best to make sure Joey goes down from the crime, but when all evidence is finally brought against her to make her go down, she pretty much states that she's not sorry at all for anything she did, like the sociopath she is.  Even when facing the death penalty (which I'm fairly sure she got, as Alex said she would).

And adult children count, too.  I'm also gonna add Charlie in "Dominance."  Rapes his younger brother, Billy, and beats up his own father and threatens Billy's girlfriend to keep them both quiet about it.  In addition to the other crimes he commits in the episode, he was just plain sick and monstrous.

Next comes another sociopath -- Jake from "Conscience."  Kills his neighbor because he accidentally killed another neighbor's cat and was too afraid of being told on, and then tries to deflect his actions as a result of abuse he suffered at a camp, only for Casey and Huang to find out that he was the one committing all of the abuse there!  Once he was exposed, he offered up the most insincere apology ever.  I'm not normally for kids dying, but if he would've killed again, I can sort of see why the victim's father (played by the amazing Kyle MacLachlan, whom I just saw end an amazing stint of playing the spectacular Crazy Cal on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this past May) felt like he had to die and thus killed him.

Speaking of Kyle MacLachlan, he also played the father of another pretty awful kid -- vile Trip from "Blood Brothers."  He rapes a girl his own age and threatens her into keeping quiet, and that came after convincing her that they would be together in a fairy-tale romance when he had no intention of doing so.  I was more than relieved when Arturo offed him.

Got a couple more, but I'll wait and see what everyone else can offer up first.

  3. So the Hawaii episode.  I was amused by the ring diving.  That was actually a fun challenge.  I was impressed by Stephanie fending off the shark that attacked her and Kitty.  Very Courtney-like of her.  Too bad it cost her the ring.

Jay & Mickey are even allergic to orchids?  Oy.

MacArthur truly is a guy's girl.  She likes to belch and fart, while Sanders wants no part of either.

So Kelly finally tells Taylor that she's not the special snowflake her father's let her think she is all her life, and she's ready to fall apart.

Junior has great strength to carry his father across hot coals.  Now, that's a strong kid!

Jacques & Josee are faltering now that Josee's lost her lucky rabbit's foot.  Instead, they're getting bad luck from a Hawaiian lava rock.

Noah & Owen are racing harder now, and Noah's fallen for Emma, which Kitty has noticed.

Kitty has also noticed that Carrie likes Devin!  But Carrie fails epically in confessing her feelings to him.

Ennui & Crimson have to have everything dark, don't they?

And Ryan & Stephanie's honeymoon phase is over . . . just as they get saved by a non-elimination point.

    The Dubai episode:

So Owen and Kitty want to try and get Noah and Emma together.  So far, they seem well on their way.

Dwayne wants to align with Kelly & Taylor . . . but Junior, after observing them the whole race, is like, "Hell no!"  And Dwayne experiences why not firsthand when, after rightly telling Kelly that she gives Taylor no boundaries or discipline, she splashes him in the face and smacks him.  Dwayne backs off the alliance idea, and Junior is thrilled.

Ryan & Stephanie are now falling apart.  I knew they would at one point when their entire intro was about how in love they supposedly were.

Jay & Mickey actually do well, by accident, at a task.

Lorenzo & Chet continue fighting like babies, even to the point where everyone else is now noticing.  Also, Chet's kind of a bully toward other teams.

Carrie struggles with playing tennis with a robot while Devin at least does decently.

And Kelly finally has it out with how Taylor treats her.  But they finally come to an agreement that as long as Kelly doesn't embarrass Taylor, she'll let her mother hang out with her.  That's enough for Kelly.

And Emma & Kitty finish first, with Owen & Noah right behind!  Jay & Mickey come in third, with Jacques & Josee (especially Josee) spazzing out over coming in fourth, for the first time not finishing in the top three!  (Can you all believe it took until episode nine for them to finish out of the top three?!)

After other teams trickle into the Chill Zone, it all comes down to Carrie & Devin and Kelly & Taylor, and despite Kelly & Taylor arriving at the Gold Souk first, they take the time to go shopping, allowing Carrie & Devin to finish ahead of them.  Kelly & Taylor are then eliminated.

The all-female teams are kind dropping like flies.  Just like the real show.  We had five, and now there are only two left -- Sanders & MacArthur and Emma & Kitty.  Meanwhile, the all-male teams still have yet to take any hits but one.  There are still six of them left.  Writers, it's time for one or two to go.  My vote is Rock & Spud since they barely show up and thus have no storyline.

So, @Lantern7, you've never said anything yet.  Who do you like?  And don't like?

  4. Well, we do agree there.  :-)

And "To The Bone" will never be creepy, which is starting now. I think that was one of CI's goriest crime scenes.

It won't?  It's creepy to me.

I've always wondered if Logan and Barek ever eventually got Whoopi's character.  They mentioned gathering more evidence at the end of the episode and trying to pursue the case further, so I wonder if they did more that we didn't see off-screen, possibly during Goren and Eames's on-screen events in "On Fire?"

  5. I've only just caught up with Monday's episode.  So sorry to see Tom & Jen go.  But fighting over who should get credit for their blog really distracted them too much.  Even worse, it kept Ryan & Stephanie in, and while I like Ryan, Stephanie is starting to get to be too much.

ETA2: Didn't realize that CN was airing the episodes at 7:30 until tonight. I got the second ep on DVR. Saw a little bit of it. I can imagine Bert or Elise looking at the LARPers and screaming, "SONOFABITCH!!!!! I knew we were forgetting a key demographic!!!"

I'd imagine any LARPers brought on to the real show would be smart enough to know that magic doesn't really exist.  Unlike Leonard & Tammy.

  6. Eh, I still blame Becky for putting Shelli and not telling her to cut deals with James and Meg to stay.

I guess I have a hard time blaming James and Meg for that when A) Shelli was still targeting him immediately and Vanessa wasn't, and B) Shelli made absolutely no effort to even get their votes until it was too late. Not only that but Shelli was openly plotting future weeks with the Austwins while acknowledging they were voting against her. That week was so stupid, I don't think it's fair putting it all on James.

True, but once again, Shelli had shot the wad with the other Sixth Sense members due to her behavior toward them when she and Clay were on the block.  They wanted very little to do with her after that.  She had no one.  I'd still rather take my chances with someone who's after me, but is alone in doing so, than with someone who may not be immediately coming after me, but still has the allies to come after me eventually.  That I do blame James for.

  7. For those of you who are frightened and disgusted by the possibility of Vanessa winning . . . well . . . shouldn't you all be angry at James over this?  She could've been as good as gone during Becky's HoH, but James fucked it up royally because he had to get Shelli out right then.  Shelli, who no longer had no allies, over Vanessa, who had minions ready to rally around her.  Vanessa gets evicted instead, no way she wins the returning juror competition.

But oh, no, James.  You just had to get Shelli out then instead of the obvious alliance ringleader.

So yeah.  I actually don't mind Vanessa still being here.  I just blame James for why she is here.

  8. I always thought it was because they were too narcissistic to care about her -- that if it didn't concern themselves, neither was interested. She was an afterthought to them every time we saw her, and if I recall correctly, we never saw either of them really paying attention to her...I wouldn't see why that would change just because she was arrested.

    But maybe I'm too cynical.

Could be, but I don't know.  They both seemed pretty horrified when they realized she was a killer, so I figured at least one would've gone down to see her.

  9. The astronaut driven to murder from being drugged in "Rocket Man."  She was a normal, harmless woman until the perp got through with her.  Hope she got a lesser, lighter sentence when it was discovered that she'd been normal until then.

Or the daughter in "Shrink-Wrapped" with her messed up parents.

Even today, I'm wondering if neither parent went down to the station with her simply because they didn't want to deal with each other.  I hope to God it wasn't because they didn't care a bit about her.  Honestly asking here, right now, which one everyone else thinks/thought it was at the time.

  10. Daniel's going to be going in a few months!  YES!  I don't hate him, per se, the way most of you do, but I've had it out for him since he busted up Nick and Chelsea, so I'm glad to hear that he's not only leaving, but will be dying in the process!  I'm glad the propping will finally stop!

Though I doubt he'll be called out for anything.  Very few people ever do.

Shocked, but also not shocked, about Eve leaving.  Now that she was out of the Deverauxes' storyline, all that she would've had was trying out something new with Justin.  And now that Justin is going back to Adrienne instead and Paige is dead, there's nothing else for her to do.

  11. I like your list actually the only thing I would change is the reason why Skye/Daisy would kill him. He betrayed her by flirting with her which turned out to be using her to get her trust. He attempted to kill two of her friends into the ocean resulting in Fitz being brain damaged. She has already shot him several times and didn't kill him because she was in a hurry. And mainly he feels no guilt about what he did, which makes her feel sick.

I'll give you the shooting and will add that in.  But I didn't add the flirting because his feelings for her were genuine.

  12. Cartoon Network finally agreed that I could watch this On Demand. It was almost as frustrating as watching Amazing Race online, but with much less annoying commercials, that want to play every time you push pause.

I really enjoyed it. It seemed to nail The Amazing Race as far as the team reactions, tasks, locations, etc. I laughed several times, and rewound to rewatch Don's reaction to the Goth's coming in first so that I could laugh again. The script is just great, the voice actors are great, and the animation is great.  This show is great!

Right now I'm rooting for Sanders and McArthur (the Police Cadets) to come in number one, because I love those two together, followed by the Adversity Twins, Mickey and Jay. They will probably be gone next, but I'd love to see them go far, like Brent and Sean Sweeney in this years TAR Canada. Those two have really embodied the spirit of the race, and I would enjoy it if they went that way with Mickey and Jay.

@Christina, would you say this is better or worse than the original series?  Because I think it's on the road to being substantially better. :)

  13. I'm hoping either Fitz or Simmons gets to do the actual kill. And it should be at the end of this season.

In terms of who'd have the right to kill Ward (if he does get killed), that is, which he should, then I think all killing rights are ranked as follows:

    1. Fitz: He's mainly responsible for his brain damage and unquestionably felt the most betrayed by him.

    2. Simmons: She's already promised him that she will do it, and after their drop in the ocean and resulting near-death experience, combined with her protectiveness over Fitz and Daisy, she's got a right to want to do it.

    3. May: Seems to be the one he's most obsessed with beating, and she's just as much chomping at the bit to kill him.  She also kicked his ass once and was the main one responsible for Kara dying.  They're each other's main rivals in terms of combat and strength, too, so I imagine she has pretty high priority to take him out.

    4. Bobbi: Kidnapped and tortured her, beat her up when she attempted to escape, broke her leg, and used her as bait to get Hunter killed.  I think she shot up the list with that one incident alone.

    5. Daisy: Might possibly return to being his main object of obsession with Kara dead, and she might suspect that.  A lot of the damage he did was in her name, and I don't think she's too thrilled with that.  Plus, she's already shot him four times, so what's a few more?

    6. Hunter: See everything I said about Bobbi, but he has a lesser degree since those acts weren't actually done to him.

    7. Coulson: The only one willing to see any good in him, but also knows that he can't be allowed to live without going through T.A.H.I.T.I.  He probably won't mind taking him out if there are no other options.

    8. Mack: Barely mentions him, but I think he'd be pissed on Bobbi's behalf, too.

    9. Lincoln: Doesn't know him, though he could possibly take him out if he does something to Daisy.  Other than that, he's probably got the least right of all of the main characters to take him out, unless Ward does something to him personally this season.

My rankings, at least.  Anyone else can offer up one, too, if he or she wants.

Either way, it's gonna be interesting to see, if he finally goes down, who shuffles him off the mortal coil.

  14. I don't watch this show for couples (and I assume they'll be boring anyway, like Skye and bland Lincoln), but we'll see.

Disagree completely.  I find Skye and Lincoln a lot more interesting than she was when the show tried building her up with Ward.  Lincoln may not be the most dynamic of characters, but things with him feel a hell of lot more natural and unforced than things with Ward did.

I would be ok with Fitz Simmons together, I think they are cool and I will always love Hunter with Bobbi.

Agreed about Fitz and Simmons.  But I'd rather see Bobbi with Mack since they, too, feel unforced while she and Hunter feel totally forced.

  15. I had a much better cast for TAR11 on the TWOP boards at some point.  Which got Ken (of & Gerard) to friend me on Facebook.  Think I ended up with:

    Guido (TAR1)

    Kevin and Drew (TAR1)

Momily (TAR1) (I think Nancy hadn't become ill by this point, anyway, but we're also wishing away health issues)

    Cha Cha Cha (TAR2)

    Bald Snark (TAR3)

    Wonder Twins (TAR3)

    Bowling Moms (TAR5)

    Kris and Jon (TAR6)

Rob and Amber (TAR7) (Sue me, I enjoy his schtick in 5 of his 6 seasons)

    Bill and Tammy Gaghan (TAR8)

    The BQs (TAR10)

    3 F/F, 4 M/M, 3 couples

    That's actually . . . five men's teams, @enlightenedbum.  Way too many.
