Brienne's story with Jaime should have ended with her knighthood or after the battle against the WW. He helped, as he said he would and he should have said goodbye right then. I wish I had been given more Ser Brienne, instead of the horrifying and rushed one bam thank you ma'am, that left her in tears, because that would have made her last scene with her writing Jaime's chapter more palatable. That said, I took her last scene literally: she closed the Jaime chapter and was ready to move on. She will be fine.

I agree with this. There was no reason for Margaery to seek Sansa's company, after the plans for a union between Sansa and Loras were dropped, if she didn't feel any genuine affection. Maybe it wasn't a friendship between equals, since Margaery was so much more sophisticated and cunning back then, but she was exactly, what Sansa needed in KL, someone fun, older and wiser, to open up to a little and to learn from. No matter how skittish and traumatized Sansa was, she didn't stand a chance against Margaery's charisma. She was also as anti-Cersei in character as anyone could be, so that was a bonus for Sansa. Would have I liked for them to spend more time together or for Sansa to mention her friend, after she escaped KL? Of course! But for that, we would have needed better showrunners than D&D.

Oh, I think Olenna knew to some extent, what she was capable of and yes, she was very sold on the idea of destroying Cersei, no matter what. "Be a dragon" comes with devastating consequences. which she understood very well, but she didn't care. Her family had been wiped out and she only lived for vengeance. Sansa might not have been as knowledgeable as Olenna, but she had been living with evil for too long, to be blind to what a ruler like that could mean for the North. I don't know if she suspected she'd turn into a bigger monster than Cersei, though.

When it comes to feminism, I'm too old to trust any show, that doesn't have a sizable number of women producing and writing it. In this case, let's say GOT has never been promising. D&D have never been the best examples of feminist writing (or good writing for that matter). In Sansa's case, I have to go with the idea that 1) Tyrion knew Sansa would reject the crown or 2) Sansa would have spoken up, like her uncle did, if she wanted the crown. But yeah, that's me bending over backwards to explain away, why Tyrion didn't even look at her with a questioning eyebrow. In Dany's case, I'm not so sure, the punishment came from not listening to men, since they had been giving her terrible advice for a while and she lost a dragon for it. My biggest problem with her story has been her love story with Wet Blanket Jon and how they framed her "going mad", after he rejected her, before the massacre in KL. As if sexing her up would have prevented it all. It was repugnant. Brienne and Arya having their consensual sex was fan service at its worst. More so in the case of Brienne, because it made no sense for her to be embarrassed about her virginity and to be in a hurry to lose it to a man she respected. Brienne, as a high born lady in the Middle Ages, would logically consider her virginity an asset, but D&D's dudebro mentality took over and wrote a pity fuck for the ugly girl on campus. Their romance was never about sex, it was about one of the best scenes in the show: the moment she was knighted. But then they had to go and ruin it. I didn't have a problem with Arya's sex scene, but as you said, they can respect a "manly girl", so they gave her a one night stand without getting tied down.

This. How old is Sansa now? 21 or 22? I say, let her live a little (and by that I mean work hard on her country and take care of her people). Also, finding the right partner takes time, so I expect her to take a few years, before she takes that step. Thanks for the link! That was a really gorgeous dress. Sansa and Rickon, now that's an idea! I'm trying to imagine Sansa struggling to tame that unruly child.

Littlefinger in S1. Every single scene with Lady Olenna. The conversation between Robert and Cersei about their marriage. Sansa & Theon's scenes. My favorite villain's (Joffrey's) wedding and death. Melisandre giving birth to Shadow Renly. The knighting of Ser Brienne of Tarth. Sansa's coronation. The dragons and the direwolves. Arya & Tywin scenes.

Nothing about the finale implies that Sansa will remain unmarried. I am sure she'll form her own pack in the near future.

I actually like the idea of a lover. I don't know if Sansa would do that, but sure, why not? I also imagine her marrying some acceptable Lord from a minor noble house and make her husband take the Stark name.
-
Exactly, Sansa is well aware, that she can't let the Stark line die out. I'm not saying she will be enthusiastic about it, but I know she will be smart and choose wisely: someone, who wouldn't have power over her. She's supposed to mirror Elizabeth I according to some, but it doesn't have to be an exact mirror image. I didn't love the finale, it was just okay, but I did love her storyline in the episode. I like that she didn't attempt a power grab, like Edmure, and that her insistence about the free North was independent of the ruler in KL. Of course, it was easier to ask Bran than power hungry Dany, but the fact that she succeeded and kept her oath to her people proves to me that she will be an excellent queen.

Jaime said once, we don't choose, who we love and I have to say, he was right, because no matter how bloodthirsty, cruel or how many people she killed (and probable she killed more than anyone else in this show), I will always love this magnificent and beautiful character. She has outacted everyone else in this show, except for Lena and Peter, and I will always remember her powerful performance in the finale. Fly free and be safe, Drogon! I don't know what you're going to do with Dany's body. Maybe she'll pay proper respects or maybe she just needed a snack for the long flight. All I want for this smart girl is to lay hundreds of eggs and raise her little dragons. I can't stand the thought of her being alone. Well, I didn't find the episode too terrible, but it was tedious at times with the long walks and speeches. I could have done with less Tyrion slow-walking and speechifying. Dany: Yeah, that was expected, but I wish it had been anyone else but Jon. I've always found Kit very underwhelming trying to sell the love between Jon & Dany and this time was no different. The killing fell flat for me. Whatever, Drogon more than made up for his lack of emotion. Jon: I can't believe Tyrion had to explain to him, the kind of monster Dany had turned into. His stupidity is just too much. He had as good an ending as he could have hoped, though. I think he'll be happy with the Wildings and Ghost, and there is no way he won't travel south every now and then to see his family. Good for him! Tyrion: I love Peter, he's such a good actor! I can't deny he made me tear up over the bodies of the TrashTwins, but they gave him too many annoying monologues and I got tired of him. Did he deserve the be Hand of the King? Nah, but I'm not too bothered about that. Shout out to the amazing "Are you fucking kidding me right now?" face he gave Jon, when he said "Love is the death of duty". Sansa: Long live The Queen In The North! I love that she didn't waver about the North Independence. She wouldn't bend the knee, not even to her brother. I love how she waited till the others had said "Aye!" to make her move and the others' surprised Pikachu faces. There is no way she won't make a political marriage and have children to carry on the Stark line. She will do her duty. Arya The Explorer: I also love this for her. It's very much in character. She's free and adventurous. I'm sure she will visit Sansa and Bran every now and then, but she doesn't want to be tied down. Not yet. It's a happy ending for her. Edmure: ❤️! SweetRobbin: Eeerrr... a perfect "the advantages of breastfeeding into your teens" ad. Bronn: Master of dying of the pox in a couple of months. It is known. Brienne: My beloved Brienne ❤️ She will be happy, I know that. I didn't love that she had to sing Jaime's praises, but she is the actual best and doesn't have a mean bone in her. Still, I would have written: A pile of bricks fell on him and nothing of value was lost. Bran: He was playing the long con, wasn't he? I don't know, how it's going to work, though. Is he immortal? Will the 3ER download into a different body, when the current one dies and continue to rule with the next body? Also, Bran The Broken?!?!? Really, Tyrion! Jaime and Cersei looked mighty fine for having a ton of bricks fallen on them 🙄

That reminds me of a silly old movie about spies, the main characters spying for opposite sides. A confederate officer, who infiltrates the enemy's lines and an actress, who befriends a family of high ranking confederates. They fall in love, but towards the end he finds out, she is responsible for the losses on his side and proceeds to shame her for using less than "honorable" means, meaning feminine ways, as opposed to him, the manly man. She accepted the criticism meekly, of course. And I say, fuck that! People use the tools they can. There was no way Sansa could raise an army in such short time and there was no need to, when a few strategic moves could have had a better chance of taking out Danny without a bloodbath. She is an amateur, indeed. If she wasn't, she would have hidden her true feelings and maneuvered without putting a target on her back. However, it was Jon, who put that target on his back, the moment he told Dany, he's a Targ. Danny is the one, who wants the IT at all costs, not Sansa. Once Jon couldn't reciprocate Danny's love, how long would Dany let him live? Jon doesn't want the IT? Who cares, what that idiot wants? I never wanted Dany or Sansa on the IT, so... Luckily one of them is not even trying. There was only one queen worthy of the IT for me and she's dead. RIP Margaery. The crypts thing was one example of the frustratingly stupid writing, we're suffering this season.

Me too. I don't think she has any kind of radar, but a logical distrust of anyone coming to her home with weapons of mass destruction, that could be deployed against her people for not wanting Dany's rule. I don't admire or hate Sansa for her coldness towards Dany after the battle, after all, what had changed? Absolutely nothing. Dany was still the same imperialist, that threatened her people's wishes to remain independent. Part of the reason of doing it openly was, of course, bad writing. We needed to see a counterpoint to Jon The Bootlicker and Enabler, so we had Sansa The Defiant and Rude, since everyone else was more or less silent, even if they shared Sansa's dislike (Arya, for instance). I think they were perfectly justifiable and, IMO, it wouldn't have made sense for Sansa to accept Dany's rule lying down. Jon betrayed the North and she did, what she felt was right, to challenge Dany's claim.

The Bran stuff is still too weird. How would he rule? He doesn't seem to be present most of the time.
-
But that is a problem, isn't it? What happens, after he dies? Will he choose another 3-eyed raven, before it happens? Or is he immortal?
-
Sansa warned him: "You have to be smarter than Father. You need to be smarter than Robb...", and what did he do? It's not like I was shocked at his stupidity. He is the absolute dumbest creature in this show, but for all his honor, he sold out his sister, Lady Lyanna Mormont and all the Lords, who named him KITN. They all swore and oath to keep the North independent and he broke it. For a love that didn't pass the test of... How long was it? A few weeks. Robb was a genius mastermind compared to this rube. They came to Winterfell displaying airborne weapons of mass destruction and all-consuming ambition, Dany paid her the same compliments as Cersei did, when we saw her for the first time. Jon had just betrayed the North. So Sansa was snotty and ungrateful? She was Cersei-like? I wish! Cersei would have strangled him in his sleep and I would have approved. Jon has been nothing but an enabler and a royal bootlicker all this season. After Danny said she chose fear, he was still on her side. What the hell was he thinking? Oh, right! He doesn't think. How does he get to kill the tyrant? By faking love? Ugh!
