    I also am looking for recommendations for  books on this case. I, too, want to form my own opinion. I want to make sure the CBS show didn't choose to show only partial evidence and not others. (BTW I watched it on line at cbs.com if you missed it).

    I read that Burke is willing to take a polygraph test to prove he didn't do it. I think that's terrible if he is being blamed for his sister's death, IF he didn't have anything to do with it. I don't think  that should happen to anyone. We are all presumed innocent until proven guilty.

     

    However, this case had some strange, strange behavior. The baby beauty pageants are strange to me. For the same reason I won't watch Toddlers and Tiara's. I think the poster up above said it best with the crazy mothers screaming at a 5 year old to act sexy. Then Burke's behavior.  The inappropriate smile and look of his eyes was something that I would expect to see in a horror movie.  Then there's the other issues he has. Smearing poop on everything?! what! why hasn't that kid been to see a psychologist?! and I haven't even gotten to the point where he attacked JB with a golf club yet.....

     

    And yet, as a parent my heart breaks for the whole family.

    I can't believe that Jon has a bad relationship with any of his kids. Out of the two parents he was the calm rational one, the one the kids would rather be around. 

    I read in his interview that he only gets four of them for his custody time. He has no control over which four. I guess once he accepted that it became the norm. If he stood up and said, no, I want all of them or I call the police. He needs to be just as much a pain in ass as she is.

    Unfortunately that won't work if you just want to be civilized and have a peaceful life. 

    I should add, he was the calm rational one until he went off the deep end.   His behavior with all those women played right into his ex wife's hands

    Flip Or Flop - General Discussion

    I just watched Season 1 ep 11 a hilltop with a view where they borrowed money from his mother and it had a lot of renovations it needed and they maxed out their credit cards, and it still hadn't sold by the end of the show. He said he would take anything over 699 at this point, and they couldn't buy another house until it sells. Does anyone know how much it eventually sold for? I'm guessing it did, since they sold other houses?

    I wonder how much is fake? Do the producers ever kick in any money? Maybe for the renovations? TIA :-)

    Live with Kelly lost me as a viewer. I already felt Kelly was fake but this nastiness over MS sealed it in my mind.   She was unprofessional to not show up for work as were her antics with the book and People magazine article. Michael was the professional one and the only one who took the high road. I will gladly tune back in when they get rid of her. Why not give the 50 million women who would LOVE to do her job the chance to happily host the show. No drama included. How much does she make for 1 hour day's work? well, they could refill that seat in a NY minute and save themselves some cash.

     

     Another thing that really bothers me.... She is such a poor role model for young girls! There's a very good reason she had cracked her pelvis(?) and it's NOT because she's eating enough nutrients in her diet. She starves herself and it shows. She doesn't fool me for a minute. I used to really like her until I realized there wasn't much to like. This ugly side of her personality is becoming front and center her publicists nightmare, I'm afraid.

    Thank you all so much! I had a trip down memory lane thinking of all the shows I didn't know I remembered until I read   here all the shows Rita Moreno was on! She is such a great talented actress, isn't she? I think it was the role  Proud Mary described on Fran Drescher's "Happily Divorced" that I was thinking of. It used to be my favorite!

    Can anyone else please tell me where I may have seen Rita Moreno in the past few years? I know I saw her somewhere but can't remember where. I showed my husband, and said, you know exactly who this is... but he had no clue!  I eventually came onto this site and read who her name was from  here. (A great big THANK YOU! ;-)  I was thinking I saw her on another  show with "mature " ladies, but I really can't remember.

    I liked the book. I wish there were more with Zoey and Will, but maybe they will  when they have their next book come out. I like how , when they learned when children adopted from orphanages are used to caretakers coming and going they made sure to give the nanny time off and even limited grandparents time.The sent the tv crew away so they had family bonding time so the children could understand that they were their parents, not their caretakers. 

     

    The very end of the book was inspirational in dealing with challenges and how to get through them. Think Big. I liked that. 

     

    All in all, I think they are a wonderful family. Bill really cracked me up at points with his humor!

    I wonder if TLC 'supported' the family during Gosselin Hiatus?

    Psst‼ Does anyone know of the various ways and amounts in which the family is supported(salary, other monetary means, favors, connections,...) by TLC ? If so, do tell❗

    I read an online interview that when Jon sued for custody of just Hannah it was because she couldnt take Kates cruelty anymore. In that article jon is quoted as Kate "cant afford our old lifestyle anymore and its a real problem for her" so however much she has, she is no longer rolling in dough.

    Micks Picks I hope you can find relief from your back pain as quickly as possible. My problem with debilitating back pain came from disc degeneration and my back would "go out" and I would end up on the couch with a heating pad /tylenol/icy hot for weeks. Then I found a therapy called prolotherapy and I haven't been in pain since I tried it 5-6 years ago. I dont know if this can help you or not, but it worked miracles for me. Good luck! I know trying to live with back pain is miserable.

    Oh yes, this is just what Josh wants and needs. We all remember how delighted he was with the 4th kid. He always looked like he had acid indigestion every time she went on her wanting a baby rant, and he developed the runs and vomiting I'm sure when informed that it had happened. I don't think he wanted to see another pee stick as long as he lived. He appeared to be a good father to the three he had, but he was played out, and honest enough to know it, but not forceful enough to enforce it.

    I was going to add that I hope nothing unfortunate happens to ANYone with Josh obv not wanting all these kids and Anna wants 20+ of them.... His parents failed him on all levels. Its too bad they cant make their own choices. Josh needs to be free from endless children and needs to know how to prevent it. If he can figure out how to go on an Ashley Madison site and a couple of dates, then he can ask whoever showed him those things how to prevent more kids. And never tell mom and pops!

    I freaked out the first time I had an MRI done. I compared it to being buried alive. I had no idea I was claustrophobic until then. Jane Fonda conveyed it perfectly! Lol! "You can radiate the hell out of me just don't put me in the tube!"

    when'he widow was being led out we are taking a quick break I LoL at Frankie's For How Long!!! She recovered nicely. it took me until this episode to love it! I love this show. Jane and Lilly are awesome!

    Dear Derick and Jill, 1. Stop living off of other people's money to fund your mission to convert people to your way of life. 2. Most of the people you will try to convert are smarter than you are or will ever be and have REAL need of money and food, unlike you. 3. If you aren't telling your donors how THEIR money is being spent you are not being accountable to them and you are expecting to be paid for just being Christians which is VERY un-Christian like. 4. The Catholics and others you feel the need to 'correct' have the right and ABILITY to determine what is spiritually correct for them and do not need your input or guidance and it is so arrogant of you to think that you have a corner on all things religiously and spiritually correct. 5. You are not and will never be the only people to ever get married and have children so stop acting like the world owes you for this. 6. I hope you will be open minded enough to RESPECT other peoples spirituality and humble enough to recognize that you do not have all of the answers even though you actually think that you do. 7. You are accepting donations under the guise of 'helping' people when you are truly just feeding your own egos by trying to convert others into your way of thinking. 8. If you truly believe the things you claim you would sacrifice your OWN money to go on your mission, I don't remember Jesus (the one you claim to follow) expecting money from others while enjoying the worldly goods you two have become accustomed to. 9. You both are young and think you know the answers to the world when you haven't even begun to scratch the surface with the least bit of introspection and questioning. 10. You both remind me of mindless programmed robots.

    They can put the show back on tv but the damage has been done. I used to look up to that family. I USED to think they were more spiritual than I was. They arent. I used to watch their tv show and buy their books. I wouldnt watch them now if you paid me. The lowest most godless person in anyones life is Closer to God than they are. This family will eat its own turd if TLC tells them to. Anything for the almighty dollar. Sexual abuse and incest and covering it up and letting the abuse victims suffer and josh prosper is why they lost me forever. Biggest hypocrites in the world.

    I in no way meant any disrespect to the millons of families who work as hard and successfully as they do at their families homeschool.

    I was speaking only about the Duggar woefully undereducated (from what ive seen on tv)children struggle with reading and learning multiplication tables etc years behind other children. Their level of education is so low that I was comparing it to parents who "refuse to educate"
