I think what we are seeing is Geoff John's directives for the show and SA is towing the line whether he likes it or not. (I don't know if he does or doesn't). I am hoping the reporter has some reason for being other than just temporary love interest. DR made it sound like she's up to no good at his most recent con. Makes me wonder, after the mention of the start up company in 5.09 and MG responding to someone on twitter about Smoak Technologies happening that it could, if Felicity's 5B arc is to create her own company to eventually move her out of the show. IIRC comics Felicity Smoak only worked with the heroes for a period of time and then moved on. I originally thought she was going to create a network to recruit/deploy heroes (which is what she was doing in 5.02) but not so certain now. As for rumors there was one that Oliver & Felicity would be reunited sooner than people expected. SA himself made some joking remark about Billy having to die first. Oops! WM also talked like they would be reuniting but maybe not this season. MG told jbuffyangel they were going to rebuild them. That said plans change. BTW, the ship baiting flashback worked for some. He didn't kneel to pick up and then hand her the red pen for nothing! :-)

My guess is Felicity tracks her down to Hub City and then the guys head out.

2 Truths & 1 Lie: The resurrection is the lie. I bet Oliver, Rene & Curtis physically take a road trip to find Tina thus the diner scene. (Felicity probably helps track her down but does not accompany the guys.) Black Siren probably ends up destroying the ugly statue. Laurel Lance is not coming back.

Maybe trying to frame Lance as Prometheus is why he's crossed off? Probably wasn't expecting him to go to rehab. Or maybe he just wanted him removed from the SCPD and Lance did it for him. Depends on Prometheus end game.

If Prometheus is so sure he knows who Oliver "loves" why isn't Susan's picture on his display wall which I presume is his "list". I would be more convinced by the promo if they had used a shot of Thea for who he loves.

MG spoiled to jbuffyangel that there would be an Olicity goodie in the MSF that was going to blow fans minds. It is a flashback to S1. SA used the words "red pen" to some fans. (He also said something about magic but they weren't sure if he was talking about Olicity & MSF or not.) SA was asked for 3 words to describe Olicity he declined but said 3 words would nail it. "It was red" seems the most likely. The only thing I would say might make it hopeful is WHAT prompts the flashback to that moment (if it is the moment).

Well Green Arrow has seen Malone twice. 1st time with Captain Pike which is how he found out Lance was off the wagon and back in town. The 2nd time Malone faked a crime call and when GA showed up he introduced himself and told GA about Prometheus warning off Church. So now they are going to have them meet a 4th time and Oliver is going to forget he has met him even though it was Human Target? It wouldn't surprise me but really show?!

Anyone know what the episode is rated? Beth Schwartz tweeted during filming something about being on a secret mission for Antonio (Negret). Last time she did that I think she was on bra duty in 3.20 so just curious if we are in for a "treat " (rolls eyes) with one of the pairings. Maybe she had to find a red pen. :-)

I'm thinking if Malone is "evil" and related to anyone it would be the guy on the desk The Hood is holding a blow torch to in promo pic. Malone asked Felicity if Green Arrow wore a mask because his face was scarred.

HT!Oliver and Malone have already met offscreen. GA & Malone met onscreen. Why do I care if they meet onscreen if he's not evil? There's no fun in that!

Well I don't want Felicity defined by a man either but her only real storyline is "Felicity has a boyfriend" (said in a childish sing-song manner).

Who knows what age he's playing since Joe Dinicol is actually 32. Rory's actually pretty mature so I would say closer to Felicity's age than Evelyn's.

So in that scene does Curtis = Felicity & Wild Dog = Diggle? Are they trying to develop a new trio? (Just thinking about what the S1 scene represented and the fact that these types of scenes are rare on Arrow.) Not enough information to know where they are going but it makes me more curious about what Felicity will be doing in the latter part of 5B. Eta Just saw LeighAn's post. I thought confirmed were Oliver, Curtis & Wild Dog with some reports of a brunette. If Tina is there maybe it's take your kids to lunch day. :-) B-Team could be Wild Dog as Oliver, Tina & Curtis. Not sure what the plan is for Rory. What I am really wondering is if they are going to utilize a 2nd team in the field while Oliver is being mayoral instead of Green Arrow having to be on every call. This is assuming Wild Dog learns some self-control. They might not but it would allow Oliver to embrace both the man and the mask and be good at both. It also makes more sense (to me) than deploying 6 masks for every break-in.

Not sure if anyone else answered but I just rewatched the LOT portion and Oliver used the phrase "brainwashed aboard an alien spacecraft" to SuperGirl when he was explaining why he didn't want her as backup when going to meet the president. He told Barry they would take Ray and Sara instead.

Isn't there a photo somewhere of Oliver in suit and tie looking beaten and bruised? The mayor's desk looks like it's riddled with bullet holes in yesterday's pic. Is it the work of Vigilante, Prometheus, or someone else? I just remember SA being surprised by something in 5.09. I think ending on an identity reveal of some sort would be a bigger hook for people to come back after 6 weeks than a BC sighting. It looks like Prometheus agenda and Evelyn's betrayal are all revealed in the episode based on the promo. I don't think the Prometheus reveal is actually going to be a gotcha moment.

If the reporter is really up to no good maybe the final scene of 5.09 is her outing Oliver publicly as either a member of Bratva, Green Arrow, or simply that he wasn't on an island for 5 years. Any of those would cause him credibility problems as mayor.

I don't think Rick Gonzales is doing a bad job either. I just get tired of the attitude. I think he's supposed to be a tough guy with heart but they're writing more tough attitude than heart which is why it grates at times. I don't need 50/50 but better than 95/5 would work.

I wonder if personality wise they are trying to go the Heatwave route with Rene/Wild Dog but Rick Gonzalez doesn't come off as well as Dominic Purcell. Heatwave calling Felicity Ponytail doesn't grate near as much as Rene calling her Blondie. I think it's all in the delivery.

I'm okay with Supergirl saving Oliver but why didn't Oliver just reach into his quiver and grab his parachute arrow? Did he forget to pack it? :-)

Felicity looked at Kara in her street clothes and said it's like looking in a mirror. Ray replied "She looks just like my cousin." The final Oliver & Barry toast was "To the Fuller Life."

Ignore this post. I have gone back and can't figure it out. LOL! (I was doing something else at the time I was watching so I'm going to go with lost my mind.) I have seen tweets saying the same thing (brainwashed). They are all right around 8:00 ET so I guess it could have been in the Previously on segment which isn't on my recording.

Wasn't there a tweet somewhere from a LOT writer saying that Sara had to be a lesbian and not bisexual because of a network demand?

Well if Felicity keeps getting sidelined like last night because of Curtis I am all for kicking him to the curb!

If this is just them "honoring" the Olicity relationship but doesn't help Oliver see through the dream world I think they're going to once again be surprised by fan reaction.

I think the Olicity lines are the subtle Olicity in the episode. Hopefully it helps Oliver realize it's not real.
