  1. Thanks! I couldn't find it for some reason. 🙂 🤣
  2. I'm staying with my folks at the moment so I didn't get to see the whole episode. Did Michael really deserve to go home instead of Montana? I mean, I guess the fact that his fish wasn't cooked well is important but to me, he's SO much better than she is that it's hard to imagine his dish was that much more deserving of a booting. Oh, well, that's stupid production agendas for you. Hopefully the recap can help shed some light once it's up.
  3. I get a real "spoiled rich girl" vibe from Sarah. I just don't think most people who start out modelling would be able to reach a position where they can open multiple restaurants in another country. Surely good looks can only get you so far!
  4. Well, that was a bit painful with both RBF and Montana in the same immunity challenge. RBF: "I've just introduced a RANGE OF FLAVOURED POPCORNS to GOLD CLASS CINEMAS IN INDIA! I should have this challenge in the bag!" Montana: "There couldn't be a more "me" challenge than this! I've made choc tops SO MANY TIMES at home!" Montana's even got Keyma drinking that Kool Aid. "Montana could make ice-cream with her eyes shut." Don't encourage her, Keyma! So even though I think it's absolute bullshit that Daniel "won" that challenge, it was still a marginally preferable result than RBF or Montana winning it (but both of their ice-creams looked and sounded nicer to me). And again, Ben's recap is a tad late. 😂 Accurate! Yeah, it might have been nice to hear a word or two from poor Keyma. 😂
  5. You almost have to admire his sheer gall for going out there talking about a book which so many say should be in the fiction section! Meanwhile, here's the latest from Sportsbet...
  6. If she wasn't such a millennial and a TikTok influencer, I might have felt quite sorry for Montana tonight. It was almost comical when Jock and Andy were asking about the main course. J&A: So, do you have any ideas about the dish? Montana: Um... um... *crickets* I certainly would not want to attempt to lead a team containing bossy Mindy, bossy Sarah and Aldo, who's the bossiest of them all. I would be flat out doing that now at my age. At Montana's age they would have run right over the top of me. But then that bullshit story the editors tried to tell about Montana's "redemption" as team captain was ridiculous. Mel comes in and gives her a pep talk and suddenly she starts gaining confidence in herself, having a real influence over the dishes and running the show, right? Except that's not what happened at all. The red team made an effort to pretend she was being given a chance to speak up but I don't think they took any notice of her. And why would they? This is what happens when you put "fans" up against people who have their own restaurants or run restaurants such as Mindy, Sarah and Aldo. They're really not going to take your direction. Daniel looked uncomfortable in that team as well and didn't seem very happy throughout the challenge. In fact, the only fan team member who doesn't seem overawed by it all is Keyma. Meanwhile, the brown team never had a chance with raw seafood, chalky risotto, and a rare misstep by Billy in making what sounded a very weird dessert. And they only had one fan, Keyma, but Tommy isn't in the same league as Julie or Billie or Michael.
  7. It's a bit late but here's last night's recap. 😂 That's exactly what you said, @SnazzyDaisy! He's getting Aldo and Alvin mixed up. I have been known to do this too. They look nothing alike, obviously, but their names are too close!
  8. That didn't bug me as much as Montana claiming she could temper chocolate with her eyes closed because she's done it SOOO often. 🙄 Which is why she stuffed it up the first time?
  9. The crew must constantly have to repair holes in the floor from all the name dropping she does!
  10. My eyes hurt after only seeing all that smoke in the kitchen during that episode so I can only imagine how the contestants/judges/camera crew must have felt! Pretty sure that guy's been on the show previously but I think they did his challenge outside, which would have made a lot more sense. Rare to see Billie stuff up like that but nobody really wants to hear a knife slamming into a plate when cutting into a dessert that's usually quite soft. I think we can all be pretty sure she'll be absolutely safe tomorrow, though, and Alvin performs surprisingly well in challenges so I think he will be too. I'd prefer Montana to go because Tik-Tok Influencer (I don't think I need any other reason!) but I'm not that attached to Steph, either. I have to say, the Fans have mostly been a huge letdown this season and if it weren't for the producers' machinations, most of them would have been eliminated way before top 12.
  11. Harry's actually gone? Did I really just see that happen? I mean, they probably would have still tried to save her if she hadn't been in the bottom two with Daniel but worst luck for her, he's become more of a favourite than she was and honestly, they absolutely made the right decision because Harry's dish looked horrible and apparently tasted bad too. I don't know what she was thinking but I think the worst thing the show did to Harry was give her an immunity pin right off the bat because I think it inflated her ego to an unrealistic degree. She's got a lot to learn but I think she has the makings of a reasonable cook. @SnazzyDaisy, when Aldo started cooking yet another simple dish from his homeland that his Nonna would make, I pictured you throwing things at your telly. 🤣 If anyone was wondering about the song MPW was bantering with Julie about... And here is the recap. BAHAHA! He does have a very portentous way of speaking! 😂 Zing!
  12. To be fair to Sarah, she is a former model and I think RBF is one of the first things they're taught at modelling school 🤣
  13. Michael may have felt embarrassed, but Jock definitely should have! I thought I felt a bit of a weird vibe between Jock and MPW and it's not surprising given that MPW said that most of the stuff Jock wrote about him in his recently published book was straight up not true! Very happy for Keyma to win as "favourites" like Mindy now have me actively wanting them to lose! Keyma is flying under the radar a bit but it was really impressive how well she prepped that dish. Montana, on the other hand, was getting the "TikTok wunderkind" edit at first and now looks like a kid wayyyyy out of her depth.
  14. I mean, Mindy is gay herself so you'd think she would be all over what is and is not acceptable when addressing gay guys, but I have to say that "hey girlfriend" and "sister" almost sound insulting! Yes, they're gay men, but they're MEN, not girlfriends or sisters!
  15. I actually enjoyed tonight's service challenge episode more than I usually do. That amazing location certainly didn't hurt, but it was more the fact that the location inspired some real creativity in the contestants. Mindy's entree (OK, Harry's too, I guess!) was very impressive and that dessert that Billie single-handedly put together showed exactly how she must have won her season (even though it's one of the few I didn't see). On a totally shallow note, I LOVED Melissa's outfit tonight, especially the colour. Tonight's recap. Couldn't agree more - I thought this sounded 🤮
  16. Hmm, I suppose the actual chef who designed the dish had a major problem with the gelato part of Matt's dish and that wouldn't have helped his chances, but I still can't help feeling Matt was a bit unlucky that he was in the bottom two with a judge favourite. I liked Matt and hope he goes on to do well. Meanwhile, here's the recap. 🤣 So true! See, Ben agrees with me about Montana!
  17. You're right - that was just rude. I wouldn't have enjoyed Tommy's dish either because I don't like any seafood but there are ways to be tactful about it!
  18. Awww, Aldo talking about his grandmother was so sweet and touching that I'm choosing not to be cynical and accuse him of playing the famous "nonna card" which, as we all know, can elevate dishes to the top of the pile and save its users from elimination. Other than that, it'll be interesting to see how Montana deals with a pressure test. Matt keeps ending up in them so I'm not sure he will be around much longer. Daniel is too much of a favourite to go and Michael is a really good (not to mention professional) cook so he should be fine.
  19. @ppl, I don't mind your theory, except...
  20. 😁I thought it was just me who figured the same thing!
  21. Poor Alli. The "old age pensioner" contestants (i.e. anyone my age) never seem to last very long in Masterchef. To this day, the oldest person to win was Sashi (39), followed by Julie (38 when she won, so early 50s now). I like that she was trying to really push the boat out with her dishes, but I think the main mistake was adding haggis to, well, anything. 🤮 Maybe she figured at least Jock would appreciate it? I'm starting to wonder if the "Blokey McBloke" edit was more of a thing in the Gary/Matt/George days. It was actually kind of insulting, like, "Oh, my GOD - this big, boofy bloke who does skilled manual labour just boiled a pot of water without burning it! He's a cooking savant!!!!" I don't mind that they praised Daniel for his kale dish because it's appropriate to give a contestant credit for actual growth, learning new things and applying what they've learned. Matt's dish actually looked more appealing to me. I will have to take the word of the judges that curry leaf parfait tastes good because I can't really imagine it. Tonight's recap. He's not wrong. I was quite concerned for her when she got the "beach shots with kids" edit.
  22. Not to mention the packet filo pastry!
  23. Is anyone even slightly surprised at who won immunity tonight? No, me either. Moving on... Coming to the party a little late re last night's episode (had a rare busy night by my quiet standards) but the recap from the "bougie" (how do you even spell that weird word) challenge is a good one!
