Bingo! Ding, ding, ding Which is exactly why I have no problem in calling him what he really is: a GOLD DiGGER You nailed your assessment of him, he is a glorified albeit smarter gold digger. A guy close to 40 who lived in a shoe size apartment (his own words) and who by his own admission has seen Bethenny on RHNY and surely saw her in the Apprentice, I mean it didn't take of him too long to figure her out: a neurotic and over driven woman who longs for love and a child, a woman who has stared in three seasons of reality TV, has published two best seller books and strike a partnership with the maven David Kanbar. He sure did his homework on her. Now the way he introduced to her makes sense, he had time to study her while she knew nothing about him, he knew she was a smart ass, witty person who would need a lot of reassurance and a lot of emotional manipulation. During three seasons Jason has played this card of just wanting a normal wife who could bond with his parents and who would love to travel to the country every other week, a Susie homemaker of sort, are you kidding me? That is like the complete opposite of what Bethenny is, it doesn't take a whole to figure out that Bethenny is the antithesis of what Jason and his parents would have dreamt as the perfect wife. Yet Jason, the guy who seemed so traditional in his values agreed for him and Bethenny to have an open relationship in where they were not exclusive just because Bethenny was not ready for it. He agreed to that, why? Simply because he had a plan and he was carrying it out no matter what. Now it makes sense his insistence that she made up her mind and they become exclusive, his insistence on them moving in together, his insistence that they stopped birth control and see "whatever happen, happens", you would think that those would be demands of Bethenny who wanted to have a baby badly, yet the demands were started by Jason, at least that is how both retold the story. He is the one who proposed and insisted they get married before the baby was born, despite Bethenny wanting to do it after the baby was born, everything was working according to plan until he was demanded to sign a prenup, he fought hard not to, but had no other choice. But a guy like Jason always has an angle and he guilted Bethenny into modifying the prenup because he felt unprotected, lol that was a master move from GD Jason, Bethenny was dumb to do it, but she did. I am sure the money from that modification, which some articles have at 5M will be what he ultimately will receive. GD Jason has rolled the dice, he has convinced himself that he is entitled and can get more than 5M even though that amount is more than fair, in order to do so he has played all his cards on a row. Whatever ambition he never had to make it big in the business world, he sure has shown a whole lot of ambition during this divorce.

I disagree with that. When Jason introduce himself in such wonderful manner "Are you ever going to get the stick out of your ass" , Bethenny had already filmed the Martha Stewart Aprentice, she has filmed the first two seasons of RHNY and had a couple of best seller books under her belt. She had already been offered a spin off but most important whether her spin off "skinnygirl in the city" was sucesfful or not and we have no reason to believe it wouldn't , the fact is that by 2010 Bethenny had her cocktail off the ground with help from Mr. Kanbar, Bethenny's cocktail was going to be sucessful with ot without Jason. I also venture to say that David Kanbar saw who the real Jason was, the one we never got to see during BGM, I read on some articles that Kanbar is the one who put his foot down and basically insisted that Bethenny had a prenup. Jason protested, moaned and groaned, Jason pleaded that they didn't need a prenup, didn't believe in one and that they will never get divorce so a prenup was not necessary. It is say that he only signed the prenup five days before the wedding because Kanbar treatened that without a prenup their partnership was over, he was taking his toys and leaving. I don't blame him, they were in the middle of negotiations with liquor companies, they were looking for their best bid and the lack of a clear prenup that protected the cocktail line was a major treat to his investment. I don't blame him for putting his foot down, yet Jason still refuse and it is not until 5 days when Bethenny was going to call the wedding off that he finally signed. I wonder now if all that BS of the runaway bride and the picture was nothing but the set up just in case the wedding had to be cancelled. Betheny surely must be thanking her lucky stars that Kanbar saw through Jason's real intentions way before her. If Jason is acting like this with a prenup can you imagine without one?

I also believed that what he did to that poor dog was despicable and revealing of his true nasty nature. Cookie is an old dog, can you imagine what would have happened if anything terrible happened to that dog while Jason was playing his twisted mind games? I am not a dog person but I can tell Bethenny adores that dog and even calls her "her furry child". I am sure that Bethenny is not stupid enough to jeopardize her whole custody case and commit perjury in front of the judge with something that can be somewhat verified and this is what among other things might have prompted this settlement. As usual Jason has played up the victim card so he gets to sing victory for sharing custody when he knows that primary custody does allow sharing. He doesn't have to testify but he also cannot be confronted with any evidence of his shenanigans.

This is just me speculating of course. Jason has been playing the media since the divorce started, confusing the public with pointing at sole custody vs share custody which only represented the legal part of the deal. When it comes to physical custody though, they both have requested the same which is primary custody which from my own experience means sharing but not exactly split in half. The fact that Jason's lawyer has been so quick to come to the media and talk about an agreement to share instead of saying "my client was awarded primary custody and they will share legal custody" IMO can only mean that he was not chosen the primary custodial parent but was given the most possible time I.e 49% of the time with Bryn, which was always a possibility with primary custody, and they are promoting this as share custody. They both have requested primary custody and I don't think the judge could enforce any sharing, specially when the state of ny is well known for always wanting to have one of the parents named a primary custodian. So my speculation is that Bethenny was awarded primary physical custody with 51% vs Jason as non primary custodial parent with 49%. If Jason would had been named primary caregiver he would be shouting it loud and clear just to continue painting the figure of Bethenny as an unfit parent. JMO

Classic Jason move, his lawyers are making it sound as if he prevailed but I would like to know who was named primary custodial parent and if in reality the one who settled was Jason because he knew he was on his way to losing. After all the judge slam him few months ago when he demanded that he turned in all the wiretaped called and videos he had and forbid any more emailk hacking. Many details more to come I hope , even though the case is sealed I wonder who will be the one leaking more details.

Charming, I wonder if at any point one of the ladies who were there will come up with some tell all book or maybe even a fiction book about what really happened. I have to conclude that bravo actually ran out of tape or they would have replayed the unseen footage time and time again, it would had been a ratings bonanza.

Bethenny will not be sole custodial parent, she has not requested that, she has requested to be the primary custodial parent which translates in the parent with slight advantage of time, my situation was 55/45 time but I have a friend you was named the primary custodial parent and hers was 51/49 deal where their time was split almost evenly. So whether Bethenny gets awarded primary custody or Jason does, the other parent will be very much involved in the child's life. Jason has requested the exact same kind of custody as Bethenny has and nobody seems to have a problem with that. Legal custody which is the power to made decisions on the child's behalf is where their petitions are different. Joint legal custody only works when both parents have ended the relationship amicably and are friendly enough to be able to communicate and agree on decisions that affect the child. In this case and given how nasty Jason has behaved including his illegal actions of email hacking and taping of private phone conversations, I do believe that the communication is not possible at this point and one of them will be awarded sole legal custody, which also doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want with the child but just have final say to avoid going back to court every month to have the judge settle in trivial things like what kind of after school activities can the child attend. Jason has requested shared legal custody which given his behavior is a joke, whether the judge believes Bethenny or not is irrelevant. The judge is probably pretty clear that there is no way that Bethenny and Jason can communicate at this point and one of them will have to have sole legal custody. The fact that Jason is playing up the term sole custody as if Bethenny is trying to erase him from Bryn's life is another proof of his manipulative and conniving ways.

I think that ultimately there is where Jason and his legal team have done an excellent job in creating the illusion that Bethenny wants sole custody which means to erase Jason from Bryn's life. Nothing is furthest from the truth. I lived and got divorce in the state of NY and the child custody laws are much more complicated than anywhere else (in my experience) . AnnaL, I also got a Jason on my path and so he had portrayed as such a good guy that I also got taken for a ride. By the time I realized about 7 years have gone by, so I requested for divorce. Being that he was a good parent I went to my lawyer's office with the idea of requesting for share custody, my lawyer told me that in the state of NY one of the parents have to be named primary custodial parent for physical custody purposes so my divorce petition asked for exactly that, primary physical custody. My ex threw a fit and requested that he had the physical custody of my two kids (mainly because he found out that the non custodial parent has to pay child support. Being that we both were interested in having primary custody the judge requested the standard phsycological evaluations, hearings and what not and granted me primary physical custody but our time with the children was split almost evenly, I had them four days and he had them three days, we shared holidays and summer vacations as well. Our divorce was not smooth, despite his perfect facade he was very controlling and couldn't fanthom that I wanted to divorce him so he acted like a major asshole during divorce proceedings so along with the primary custody I also was granted sole legal custody, there was no way that we could agree on anything and the judge realized that. This never meant that I could do whatever I wanted to do with the children, during his three days he had the kids, during his time, he could do the day to day decisions, during my four days I was in charge of the day to day decisions. Major decisions however had to be communicated and discussed but in the event of a split decision, my say was final. I was told that I couldn't move out of the state without the judge permission. Make long story short, we had this agreement for the fist year after the custody was settled, after that he found himself a girlfriend and got remarried, then the three days he had turned into two days and some weeks it was a day and a half, when he started having kids with his new wife, even more time was taken and now my kids are lucky if they see him once every other week. They are teens by now so they don't care too much. I never requested the original arraigment to be changed so technically if he wanted he could still have the kids from Friday morning to Sunday night with no problem but he has chosen not to and I am okay with that. Bethenny has requested exactly what I was granted: primary physical custody and sole legal custody. My kids had plenhty of time with his dad and so will Bryn if the judge grants her request. I am the mother and there was no way that having the legal ways to do it I would have not requested to be my kids primary custodial parent so I am not going to bash Bethenny for requesting exactly that.
