palmaire February 24, 2019 Share February 24, 2019 (edited) Is it normal to have two consecutive posts with gold anchor lines? It doesn't cause any problems but I'm not sure if that's the correct functionality. Edited February 24, 2019 by palmaire Link to comment
Meredith Quill February 24, 2019 Share February 24, 2019 @palmaire Have you seen this more than once, if so would you let us have the URL next time you see it. Link to comment
theatremouse February 25, 2019 Share February 25, 2019 I believe this is intentional/correct if the link you used were to a specific post. So the yellow line on the post in question indicates "this is the post the link was trying to bring you to", but there's still the standard yellow line indicating "this is the first unread post for you in this topic". In the latter case denoting "this is where you left off". Link to comment
SVNBob February 25, 2019 Share February 25, 2019 I've seen this before as well, and only in threads that I follow and receive notifications. From my observations, this mainly happens if: the first of the two posts is one I made someone reacted to it, triggering the notification the posts after are new, also triggering a notification I click through to my post via the notification. Something similar happens if someone adds a post to a thread, triggering a notification I do not visit that thread I log off More posts are added to thread while I am offline, creating a new notification chain I return I visit the thread via the first/older notification. Ah, that seems like a likely explanation considering that I'm usually following a notification link to a specific post. @SilverStormm, I'll add a link the next time I see it. Thanks for the response. EDIT: Two gold lines One is walnutqueen's comment, which is the link I followed and which is the actual first unread. The other by Jeeves is below that. After I refreshed the page, the gold line at walnutqueen's post disappeared. Edited February 25, 2019 by palmaire Link to comment
Meredith Quill March 1, 2019 Share March 1, 2019 @theatremouse's logic above makes sense to me. I've never seen this behaviour myself; how frequently is it happening for you @palmaire and did it just start or has it been an ongoing thing? Link to comment

Meredith Quill March 6, 2019 Share March 6, 2019 Ok so essentially, if you see two yellow lines it means one is the direct link from a notification, one is the newest post. Link to comment
