This has always been a weird episode for me, him seemingly being thrilled/relieved that Susan died. (The doctor later described it something like "restrained glee.") Yeah, if you look at it there have been some really disturbing moments from the series. Here's an article on such: https://screenrant.com/seinfeld-darkest-shocking-moments/ 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/89099-seinfeld-general-discussion/page/4/#findComment-8577404

annzeepark914 April 28 Share April 28 The Fix up episode is my favorite as I did the same thing to a co-worker who was setting up a blind date for me & his friend. This is why Seinfeld was so wonderful. They used the experiences of regular people, so most fans probably recognized themselves in at least one episode. I wish they'd used this actor again in the show. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/89099-seinfeld-general-discussion/page/4/#findComment-8647698
iarwain 15 hours ago Share 15 hours ago I always thought the four main characters on Seinfeld were all Jewish, but I recently saw the Serenity Now episode, and Elaine says she is a shiska, which is a non-Jewish woman. I don't know how I stayed so misinformed this long. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/89099-seinfeld-general-discussion/page/4/#findComment-8683482

It says, "Several dictionaries define shiksa as a disparaging and offensive term applied to a non-Jewish girl or woman". Makes me wonder why they let Elaine use that term. It never crossed my mind that it might be offensive. Maybe at the time it wasn't considered offensive? Or maybe Elaine was trying to make herself appear less attractive. In the context of the episode, she goes to a bar-mitzvah and a couple of men there are attracted to her (whose affection she does not return). George tells her it's because she has "shiks appeal" and that Jewish men are attracted to non-Jewish women. So she tells one of the Jewish men that he is only attracted to her because she is a shiksa. Shrug. I don't know.
