Cranberry May 31, 2018 Share May 31, 2018 Quote As Leo struggles to come to terms with being human, Mattie takes him back to the Hawkins' home, where a surprise night out allows them to confront their feelings for each other. Laura is determined to uncover the truth about the too-secret Operation Basswood and tries to enlist Dr Neil Sommer's help, only for things to take an unexpected turn. Joe reluctantly decides to help Karen with Sam, and Niska receives a mysterious message. Link to comment
John Potts June 1, 2018 Share June 1, 2018 Well I guess this was the sex episode, with Mattie getting busy with Leo, Laura thinking about hooking up with Dr Neil (loved her children's "Mom, you're allowed to date, you don't have to pretend!" looks at each other) and even suggestions of possible romance (maybe) between Joe and Karen (I guess he does miss his family). Very disappointed in Max - I thought he had a plan, but it seemed it was very much like the one Ned Flanders' parents had: "We've done nothing and it hasn't worked!" - it's not surprising he's facing unrest among his people. Not sure that showing the commission is the right move, but at least it's something. Of course, there's going to be some sort of terrorist attack on the Commission, so I hope he's planned for that. Love the idea of "Elsterology" - robots finding religion is something I hadn't foreseen! 2 Link to comment
scrb June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I can see some organized group with an agenda hounding Mia and stalking her at home. But average people who see her at the market and follow her home? They seem to be gawking like they've never seen a synth before and have nothing better to do. London is home to people from all over the world and there are a few racists who would persecute ethnic minorities but they don't do it out in the open -- throwing rocks at her home. Max has few choices. He can't very well have the synths fight back because that would only bring more repression. Agnes the hothead is going to get more people and synths killed. I thought Laura made great points. The green eyes would have a lot of economic potential. Of course, that won't go over too well with bigots, who are often around the bottom of the socio-economic ladder and will resent the other who come in and do better than them. I guess peaceful co-existence with synths just doesn't provide a story with enough tension. The early seasons with people struggling to accept synths as they became sentient seems to have been ignored and now, humans are full-on intolerant of synths. Like the Doctor (Laura's date) said, he knows it was an accident that led to the demise of his child when his nanny synth awoke. But he still blames them? If he and Laura get close, wait until he finds out that Mattie sent the code to waken the synths when they did. 2 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo October 2, 2018 Share October 2, 2018 You'd think that someone who's getting bottles thrown at her in public and getting phone calls saying "I hope your kids get cancer" wouldn't just fling open the door whenever someone rings the bell. Agnes can STFU. In the previous episode, she stood up and refused to kneel, which could have resulted in the police killing all 500 of the synths at their compound which means I don't think she necessarily has the group's best interests at heart, but this week she's mad because Max won't let in four unknown synths because there's a possibility that they're terrorists who could come in and kill everyone. She can't seem to pick a point of view and stick with it. Awww, I want someone to spend the weekend watching Disney movies with Leo! Interesting that Toby was so angry at Joe for having sex with Anita but he seems to be the one who's forgiven him the most at this point. What kind of contacts are the synths wearing that Sam's just popped out of his eye because some kids ran into him? I wondered the same thing when one of Niska's came out after the explosion too (although in that case, I remembered people whose shoes had been knocked off their feet from a strong impact so I just figured I didn't know enough about the physics of explosions to know whether her contact would have really popped out like that - I can tell you as someone who has worn both soft and hard/gas permeable contacts, I've never had one come out accidentally).
