GHScorpiosRule May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 I feel as though I should put a disclaimer every time I try to start a topic: one that says, in Giant Bold letter: I SUCK at Witty Titles! Mods, please feel free to edit/change/whatever to make it witty--I won't be offended. Gee, that makes me sound like Lana--It isn't all about me! Ahem We had a very young Amy Adams, in the first season--who knew she'd end up as the latest Lois Lane on the Big Screen? We had Michael McKean--for me, he'll always be Lennie, form Laverne & Shirley, but he was a decent Perry White. We should have seen MORE of him. Michael Ironside, as Gen. Lane. He should have reprised his role as Darkseid as far as I'm concerned. 1 Link to comment
ElleryAnne May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 I'll throw in Shawn Ashmore (Eric Summers in Leech and Asylum), who went on be Bobby/Iceman in the X-Men movies. And while he probably doesn't count as a "star" at this point, Ryan Kelley (Ryan from Stray) has had a recurring role in Teen Wolf this past half-season and I'm hopeful he'll be back for the new season. 1 Link to comment
wingster55 August 14, 2014 Share August 14, 2014 We had a very young Amy Adams, in the first season--who knew she'd end up as the latest Lois Lane on the Big Screen? And the best live-action version in my opinion (sorry fans of Kidder and Hatcher). The two male leads from The Vampire Diaries..I'd say they'd count. Link to comment
GHScorpiosRule August 14, 2014 Author Share August 14, 2014 OH.MY.GOD. How could I forget this STAR. One Christopher Reeve!!!!! And of course June Allyson, and shoot, what's the name of the actor who played Jimmy Olsen in the George Reeves series AND the one who played Jimmy in the Reeve movies? Link to comment
pootlus September 7, 2014 Share September 7, 2014 (edited) Smallville certainly ran the gamut of past/future superheroes/superhero sidekicks. Apart from those already mentioned: Dean Cain showed up as Curtis Knox in S7 "Cure". Teri Hatcher showed up as Lois's mother in S10 "Abandoned". Marc McClure (Jimmy in the Reeve movies, GHScorpiosRule) showed up as Dax-Ur in S7 "Persona". My fave of the lot (Reeve aside, obviously) was Lynda Carter as Chloe's mom in S6 "Progeny". I'm sure I've missed some out. wingster55, I'm going to have to wrestle you for the best Lois Lane title - Hatcher is unpassable, IMO, although I did like Amy Adams. BkWurm1 September 11, 2014 Share September 11, 2014 I really enjoyed Amy Adams but there was just sooo much of Terri Hatcher to love (was it five seasons?). I would be happy to award both a best of TV and a best of Movie award. Link to comment
wingster55 September 13, 2014 Share September 13, 2014 Honestly, I liked Lois and Clark but I never really followed it that much (I didn't really follow tv shows until Smallville really) Link to comment
GHScorpiosRule October 29, 2015 Author Share October 29, 2015 I never managed to comei up with a witty title for this! Anyhoo, since I recently marathon watched the entire series a couple weeks ago, guess what I discovered! We had two stars from Home Improvement and two from Psych, who appeared on this show! Jonathan Taylor Thomas as Ian the freak who could split himself, in "Dichotic" and also showed up in "Asylum" and Ty Zachary Bryan, who played Jonathan's older brother on the same show, and also as a meteor freak in "Witness." Then, in Season 3, we had Maggie Lawson (Jules) from Pysch in "Redux" as the cheerleader who kept sucking up the lives of guys so she could remain eternally young, and Sage Brocklebank (McNab) who played one of the members of the Lex political club, who beat up Jonathan in "Fanatic." 1 Link to comment
GHScorpiosRule November 2, 2015 Author Share November 2, 2015 Methinks we need a thread for the cast of this show in other roles! Because as I am going through my Bruce Timm DCAU (DC Animated Universe), I have learned of one other cast member from this show that was cast in those shows, before this show premiered! I say one, because I knew about Rosenbaum doing double duty, and of course Allison Mack as Powergirl in Superman/Batmn: Public Enemies. But I'd forgotten that The Riddler in Batman: The Animated Series was played by none other than John Glover! and he returned in "Knight Time", an episode in Superman: The Animated Series when Timm and company brought back Bats and we had Superman/Batman Adventures for a year. No, I don't have anything better to do, because I'm suffering from the worst case of insomnia ever and am trying not to rewatch this show AGAIN. I need a break! But watching the DCAU, I see how this show perverted a lot of the arcs in the DC universe. They should all be ashamed. 1 Link to comment
