Maverick July 12, 2017 Share July 12, 2017 I had forgotten how the lame the scenario where Bashir''s secret comes out was. Oops, we told a holograms. Zoinks! The ending was also more pat than usual. If the Federation was that strict about genetic engineering then there's no way they would let him stay in. They had the perfect setup to keep him on the show. He could have went to work for the Bajorans and remained on the station. They could have him earn his way back into Starlet later or not. 1 Link to comment
blueray July 22, 2017 Share July 22, 2017 ^That would have been awesome. I've always liked the scene in this episode with Miles and Julian discussing his past and the last scene with them playing darts. And it maybe an opinion of one, but I liked the "twist" in this episode. I think it added to his character. If you look back an react earlier episodes, like the one where they are playing tennis. Julian knows that Miles really can't play at his level and was generally worried about him trying too. Also it explains that he probably got the one question wrong on his final on purpose to not be valedictorian. Link to comment

Maverick July 24, 2017 Author Share July 24, 2017 If you gloss over some things it fits, but not perfectly. The biggest problem is Distant Voices. Since the alien was in his head and playing on his own fears, the big secret he should have been throwing in Bashir's face was the genetic engineering, not whether he missed the question on the final intentionally or not. There's also the fact the Dominion should be aware of Link to comment
rmontro April 21, 2018 Share April 21, 2018 I can certainly see why the Federation is so against genetic engineering in humans, what with the Kahn problem and all. But if I needed medical help, I sure wouldn't mind having a genetically superior super smart doctor to work on me. Link to comment
