DollEyes August 30, 2016 Share August 30, 2016 (edited) With the death of Gene Wilder, yet another piece of my childhood has died. I've been a fan of his ever since he played a bit part in Bonnie & Clyde and his brilliance shone in, among other things, The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Silver Streak, Stir Crazy and one of my all-time favorites, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. While Wilder made me laugh, his relationship with the late Gilda Radner made me smile, before and after her death. Theirs was one of the great Hollywood love stories. The world of comedy will miss him. The world will miss him, period. RIP, Gene. Edited August 30, 2016 by DollEyes For clarification. 5 Link to comment
Amethyst August 30, 2016 Share August 30, 2016 He seemed like a lovely guy. Very gentle, sweet, and of course, funny. I'll remember him mainly for Willy Wonka (that Tim Burton mess doesn't count) and Blazing Saddles. 3 Link to comment
Spartan Girl August 30, 2016 Share August 30, 2016 The entrance he made as Willy Wonka was one of the best entrances in film history. And the fact that it was his own idea so that the audience wouldn't know, from that point on, if he was lying or not. I know See No Evil, Hear No Evil wasn't the best movie with him and Richard Pryor but it still made me laugh. I'm totally going to watch Stir Crazy though (and Hanky Panky). 5 Link to comment

Spartan Girl September 2, 2016 Share September 2, 2016 Okay, finally saw Hanky Panky, and while I loved watching Gene and Gilda together....I didn't like the movie. More of a crime drama/action movie than a comedy. 1 Link to comment

Spartan Girl September 4, 2016 Share September 4, 2016 Rented Stir Crazy, and everyone that said it was the best Pryor/Wilder movie was right! I loved the scene where they're entering jail, trying to act tough. "We bad, we bad, we bad!" 4 Link to comment
