bluvelvet June 19, 2017 Share June 19, 2017 Just watched this movie and I really enjoyed it. Loved the twist with the villain at the end who wasn't really a villain just someone who lost her heart. I also loved that Moana went back and got through the carrier adder Maui left. Songs are nice also and some make great earworms. Link to comment
Athena June 27, 2017 Share June 27, 2017 I really wanted to see this and enjoyed it. I agree that it's not perfect or as a good as Zootopia, but then again Zootopia is the kind of animated film that comes every five to ten years. In terms of being a Princess model film, I liked this much more than Frozen or Brave. Both of which I enjoyed, but I feel Moana is simply better in terms of animation, music, voice acting, characters, and protagonist. While the songs were not all perfect, some of them were catchy enough and the music was powerful in certain scenes (baby Moana and the ocean, Moana and her grandmother, and Moana at the end against the "enemy"). I liked that Maui was there but he was a supporting character who got his own development. I loved the Moana/Grandmother moments. I really liked how female focused the whole film was as well but also emphasized the sibling like and platonic love that Maui/Moana shared. No romance in it at all was great as well. It moved a little slower than I would have liked, but I would watch this movie again. I hope Auli'i Cravalho becomes a big star. 5 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo February 14, 2018 Share February 14, 2018 Moana is being redubbed in Hawaiian! Auli'i Cravalho still plays the title character but they have recast the other voices: On 6/27/2017 at 7:05 AM, Athena said: I hope Auli'i Cravalho becomes a big star. She has been cast in the new tv show Rise (based on the book Drama High) about the drama students at a high school in a working class town. She will be playing Lilette, one of the drama students. Ted Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) plays the drama teacher, Rosie Perez plays his assistant, and Stephanie J. Block (Wicked) plays the mother of Simon, one of the drama students. The show is supposed to begin airing on NBC on March 13. 2 Link to comment
