Sembene is an African man with ritual face scarring who serves as Sir Malcolm's sentry and confidant. He has an air of mystery about him and his heroic efforts will prove invaluable to Sir Malcolm in his personal quest.

I hope they do a back story on him. I am so curious why he puts up with all this crap. Maybe he came to London for his own sense of justice and is now realizing the mistake that revenge can have.

I like that they have hinted at subverting the "noble savage rescued" trope by intimating Sembane feels responsible for Sir Malcolm and that's why he sticks around. Can't wait to learn more about him.

One of the few things I liked in the latest episode was when Sembene came in, while Vanessa was trashing the room with her mind, and slapped her twice, then picked her up, giving Malcolm a look that said "Why do I have to do everything around here?"
