Re #2: The old white suits getting their groove on was seriously gratuitous. However, I have to wonder if it's one of those so-bad-it's-true things about record company sh meetings.

I think it's the show's black writers getting revenge for decades of clueless white writers putting cringeworthy lingo in the mouths of black characters.
