ae2 February 11, 2016 Share February 11, 2016 Tim and Elizabeth hear from two teams with decadent late-night bites: Rolz and I Got Balls. Link to comment
jcbrown February 11, 2016 Share February 11, 2016 I didn't think Tim wanted to work with the petulant whiner that was Ralphie so I think he tanked his bid on purpose. Could not believe it when Ralphie was yelling at Tim--his potential investor!--while Tim was doing the dishes, of all things. And the name of the concept was beyond juvenile and stupid. Could also describe Ralphie, come to think of it. Link to comment
ae2 February 11, 2016 Author Share February 11, 2016 I like that Tim will jump in and help in the kitchen when they need it. The guy was way too hot headed to run a commercial kitchen. And two out of the three non-rice ball dishes they created were terrible. So I think retail is best route to take with this (although the name probably isn't so good in the grocery store). Tonypitt February 12, 2016 Share February 12, 2016 (edited) Those two guys were annoying! I'm betting that a lot was cut that couldn't be aired. I was tired with all the 'ball' jokes. It was not funny the first time. By the 50th time I was ready to claw my ears. I'm starting to think this show has an even lower completion rate than Shark Tank. I'm wondering if any of the deals actually play out the way they're supposedly presented on TV. Tim totally tanked that offer. His demand for 80% of the restaurant and then "we'll negotiate" the co-packing probably would have left them with less then 10% ownership of that. He just didn't want anything to do with them. I think the idea might make sense for retail but could not survive as a restaurant. I can't imagine that the food was very healthy, and it just isn't going to resonate with people. Guest February 12, 2016 Share February 12, 2016 Those guys were pretty annoying. This was only the second episode I've watched and both times Tim has had to help in the kitchen! Link to comment
PepperMonkey February 12, 2016 Share February 12, 2016 I wonder why they added Elizabeth. I really liked Joe and Tim together, and I don't care that much for Tim. He is rapidly becoming the Robert Herjavec of Restaurant Startup: he almost never gets the deal. Of course, if I were him, I'd be happy as a pig in slop if I didn't get a deal with Balls guys. That ambrosia was like the types of fruit salad everyone's mom and grandmom prepares at all the holidays, and while it may be tasty, it looked like vomit and I just can't get past that part of it. If I paid for that, I'd be pissed. Maybe he did purposely kibosh the deal. The way that guy yelled at him WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO HELP was ridiculous. Happy to see Tim and Joe back together next week. I don't think Elizabeth adds anything, but that's just imho. 2 Link to comment
anonymiss February 12, 2016 Share February 12, 2016 I liked Tim's FU offer to them. The second he threw the toddler tantrum I lost interest with no one to root for. No Joe, too, so less engaging--can't they afford all 3 of them at once? Elizabeth is lovely but always so nice. Acerbic Joe balances that out and his compliments mean something. I always enjoy seeing their vast experience at work when any of the investors help out in the kitchen. Link to comment
The Solution February 15, 2016 Share February 15, 2016 As an Italian-American from the NY-NJ area, it always makes me cringe to see these gavones go on television and reinforce the stereotypes. However, their arancini did look amazing! Link to comment
