joshleejosh December 13, 2013 Share December 13, 2013 I enjoy the soapiness scale, but sometimes I feel like Nashville could use a SKIP/WATCH index for its characters, since they're all so inconsistent (either in characterization or in the quality of their storylines). For example: Rayna: WATCH -- unless she's marking time with Luke Wheeler, in which case SKIP. Teddy and Peggy: SKIP -- unless there's pork blood involved, of course, in which case dear lord WATCH. Scarlett: SKIP -- unless she gets pushed up against the wall and is forced to be proactive and plucky, like when she got booed at her first tour show and was forced to wake up and actually perform at her second, which upgrades her to a weak WATCH. Will: His eternal quest to explore every dusty corner of the closet was starting to inch towards SKIP territory, but that storyline found a new gear, so he's definitely back to a WATCH. Gunnar: usually an easy SKIP, but I really enjoyed him getting bossed around by Deacon in the last episode. Sidekick/buttmonkey is a good look on him. No one's hopeless! 2 Link to comment
Tara Ariano December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 Scarlett has REALLY turned into the show's most skippable character. 1 Link to comment
Katiepenn December 17, 2013 Share December 17, 2013 Zoe is even worse, but she and Scarlett are close to a photo finish in the race for that title. And unfortunately they're almost always featured together. Link to comment
Tara Ariano December 18, 2013 Share December 18, 2013 I thought for sure that Zoe was going to be one of the people killed off in the fall finale just because her character is such a zero. Link to comment

formerlyfreedom December 19, 2013 Share December 19, 2013 You did miss Deacon, who is pretty much my WATCH, my only reason for watching. I like the pretty. Link to comment
sdpfeiffy December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 Juliette + Avery: WATCH and cheer. Those writers must be wizards because I never would have thought I'd warm up to Avery Barkley. 1 Link to comment
KarenClassic January 16, 2014 Share January 16, 2014 I always thought if a television show introduces pork blood in Act I that it will come back in Act III. Does this mean Teddy will never learn the truth? Also, I am glad that they are giving Scarlett a little street smarts and recognizing that people show up at your door at 2 am for work related reasons. Even in the music business. Link to comment
MaryPatShelby February 27, 2014 Share February 27, 2014 Gunnar used to be a SKIP, but I like his friendship with Will a lot. He's a WATCH now if Will is in the scene. 1 Link to comment
