ApathyMonger September 9, 2014 Share September 9, 2014 (edited) Zachary Quinto and Brian Cox have joined the cast: http://deadline.com/2014/09/zachary-quinto-brian-cox-nbc-miniseries-the-slap-832023/ I'm surprised Cox's character is still called Manolis. Given the casting so far, I'd assumed they'd dropped the Greek angle. Edited September 9, 2014 by ApathyMonger Link to comment
ApathyMonger October 3, 2014 Author Share October 3, 2014 (edited) Melissa George is going to be David Tennant-ing her role for the remake: http://deadline.com/2014/10/the-slap-castings-thandie-newton-melissa-george-nbc-miniseries-845699/ She probably won't be topless in this one. It'll be nice to see Thandie Newton in something without having to watch that DirecTV show she's in. Edited October 3, 2014 by ApathyMonger Link to comment
Kromm October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 Melissa George is going to be David Tennant-ing her role for the remake: http://deadline.com/2014/10/the-slap-castings-thandie-newton-melissa-george-nbc-miniseries-845699/ She probably won't be topless in this one. Is George going to be doing a terrible American accent as well? Having never seen the original I had to google why she might have been topless in the original and um. Wow. Yeah, that'll never play on American broadcast TV (but would have worked fine on cable). It looks like it's an important story element though, if the point of this is to explore various attitudes towards child rearing. Link to comment

Kromm January 21, 2015 Share January 21, 2015 Mary-Louise Parker is recovering from pneumonia, so she's been replaced by Uma Thurman: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-29871934 Probably that's an upgrade. I wonder how much they actually had to reshoot. I mean for a February premiere I'd normally think the entire thing would have already been in the can by early November (when the change was announced). 1 Link to comment

ottoDbusdriver March 6, 2015 Share March 6, 2015 (edited) 'The Slap' is being demoted from 8pm to 10pm to fill the gaping void at 10pm left by Allegiance's cancellation in order to burn off the last 4 episodes and being replaced by Dateline at 8pm -- Dateline is what they show when they have nothing better that's original to show (so basically little better than re-runs or nothing). And just to be cute, it's 'Dateline: The Real Blacklist' edition -- gotta love the cross-promotion and brand integration angle. Does this mean there is a real life Lizzie and Red out there somewhere ? </snark> http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/03/06/nbc-pulls-allegiance-from-thursday-schedule-moves-the-slap-to-10pm-launches-dateline-the-real-blacklist-at-8pm/372111/ Edited March 6, 2015 by ottoDbusdriver Link to comment
JudyObscure March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 My original decision to follow this series was based on it coming on at 8PM. Now, I'll probably have to quit watching due to a chronic condition I have know as Sleepy-head. Darn. Link to comment
autumnh March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 I really wanted to like this..and I still DVR it...but when I watch it I quickly lose interest. It must be bad when I would rather vacuum rather than watch this. Link to comment

ottoDbusdriver March 27, 2015 Share March 27, 2015 Ratings for the The Slap continue to suck. While the Blacklist continues to set new weekly lows, The Slap consistently loses nearly 60% of its lead-in audience since the switch to 10pm. 0.7 18-49 rating and approx. 3.43 million total viewers. And with ratings this poor, did the promo monkeys really think that putting "End ?" in the promo like they are going to make even more of this trainwreck of a show. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/03/27/tv-ratings-thursday-bones-returns-up-the-blacklist-scandal-hit-lows-american-crime-flat/380422/ 1 Link to comment
