S01.E06: Arlo Brandt

Recommended Posts

I said in another episode thread that I wanted to see an escapee who wanted to live quietly and not kill; Arlo only fulfills half of that, so I guess I gotta keep waiting!

Oy - so even The Pit's 'success' stories are screwed up. The pilot episode said that it did do some good, they should show that at some point.

The lack of support/backup for our main three is still annoying, but it seems like that's the format they're sticking with. ::sigh::  And the rule about supposedly not involving local law enforcement seemed especially dumb at the end of this one, since Arlo had kidnapped like ten people - AKA witnesses. I was wondering exactly who did they hand Arlo off to after they arrested him. The show  just skips over any follow up or repercussions. (Yeah, yeah, I know, it would boring TV. But they still need to make some better in-universe rules so I don't have to be thinking about these questions while I'm watching.)

Huh?? So Ex-Prison Guard Guy is there often enough that the nursing home staff know him, but not the actual next-of-kin of the doctor? Also that seems like a massive failure on the nursing home's part.

That seemed odd to me too.  The patient has obviously been there for some time.  The daughter had never come to visit before?  Should we believe her?

Oliver told the crew that Arlo’s DNA had been found under the survivors fingernails.  Yet part of the pit’s cover story is that the prisoners are all supposedly dead.  That little discrepancy didn’t get leaked to the local press?   You’d think by now some journalist would be hearing  about multiple executed convicts not being dead.

Yeah, but not just that, I also find it hard to believe that 0% of the escapees haven't already gone directly to the press, or at least told their previous friends and/or family that they've been in a secret prison.

I just feel like it's a secret that can't be kept forever, and I hope that the show addresses that.

I thought that David Ramsey (who previously played John Diggle on Arrow) did a great job of portraying Arlo Brandt.

DIGGLE NOOOOO!!!!

thought that he looked familiar!  But since I didn't watch Arrow regularly (I would only see Dig during Arrowverse crossovers with Supergirl and Batwoman), I couldn't place him!

I was shocked that the show featured a black serial killer, especially since I found it unrealistic.  Have there ever been any real black serial killers?  The only ones of which I've heard have been white, Hispanic, and Asian.
