ItCouldBeWorse January 10 Share January 10 (edited) Totally different origin story from the comics: Spoiler where Nina did this to herself as an adult. ETA: Actually, a similar origin in the Flashpoint timeline. Why wasn't Nina just a candidate for a lung transplant, instead of a guinea pig? Also, Phosphorus can touch people without burning them, as when he put his hand on The Bride's shoulder, but he can't feel anything? He certainly felt where Weasel had bitten him! Snapdragon January 10 Share January 10 WTF was that? I was really into the first five episodes of this show but last week was a bit of a nothing burger for me and then this finale? Are you kidding me? Nina dies (And why was she in prison, exactly? For the crime of swimming naked?) and then the princess storyline is wrapped up in the dumbest, quickest way possible. Ugh, I was all excited about this getting renewed for season 2 but now, eh, I'm not sure I'm even going to bother. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151348-s01e07-a-very-funny-monster/#findComment-8550862

Which makes no sense since there are meta humans all over the place, half of them being heroes. It's like whenever they bring the X-Men in with other Marvel characters. Why would anyone be bothered by mutants when you've got a ton of other people walking around with powers they got in random ways? Also, they showed Dina going to school, going to the playground. People were obviously aware of her but all of a sudden no one knows who she is once she's on the news? And why didn't they sign her up for some sort of swim team? Argh, the more I think about this episode, the madder it makes me. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151348-s01e07-a-very-funny-monster/#findComment-8551159
Lantern7 January 13 Share January 13 That was a downer of an ending. Good to see GI's head fixed on a larger body, but Nina's dead. So is the Princess. Patchwork Pepe Lepew is still bouncing towards The Bride. I see that as a good thing, even though he's probably the world's oldest incel. Stupid question . . . did they bring in Sylvester Stallone to voice King Shark? Either way, my go-to is still Ron Funches. On 1/10/2025 at 9:08 AM, ItCouldBeWorse said: Because she's a monster! I couldn't say the same for Nina, Dr. Phosphorus and GI Robot, though. In Gunn we trust, though, and he did good working his way towards Superman. AnimeMania January 13 Author Share January 13 I thought the actual story/plot was very thin. Unless you are a fan of character development more than plot (which I am not), this might influence how much you liked this series. It also seemed a little harsh on women.
