PurpleTentacle December 2 Share December 2 Tbh, I fast forewarded through a lot of this. It's kinda atmospheric till he sees that flashing sign, but after that point, yeah we get it. Get on with it already. I don't think this is the show for me. Nothing much happening and just atmosphere and "deep" conversations can be fun for a 90 minute movie, but it can't sustain a whole season of a TV show. Also he is taking the elevator? Is he crazy? You don't know for how long that power is going to stay on. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150893-s01e01-alone/#findComment-8522537

babyrambo December 8 Share December 8 Well shot and mostly well acted but the dialogue was pretty rough. Especially in the casino. When the lady said ‘just because my heart is beating, doesn’t mean that I’m alive’ I got flashes to being 14 and listening to tacky emo lyrics, thinking they’re were so deep and genius lol. Felt like the writers were trying so hard to be deep yet the conversations were full of dull cliches. And none of the actors sold the gravity of the vibe at all. But the show isn’t super dark/muddy (lighting wise) like almost every other show right now & I like the premise well enough—looks like it’s going trying for a slower less action driven version of a post apocalyptic series which I think could be interesting if the writing gets stronger and less self indulgently pretentious. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150893-s01e01-alone/#findComment-8527543
