TVbitch November 17, 2024 Share November 17, 2024 16 new artists who will go tat for tat in a battle of generations for Season 16 of the reality competition series, returning to Paramount+ with its first three episodes on Oct. 23 in the U.S. and Canada. The OGs, a group of artists who have worked in the industry for more than a decade, and the Young Guns, a group of rookies who have worked as artists for less than 10 years, put their skills to the test and battle it out in epic challenges for the chance to win $250,000 and the title of “Ink Master.” Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150649-season-16-all-episodes-thread/
TVbitch November 17, 2024 Author Share November 17, 2024 I am through episode 6 and really enjoying this season. Some good artists and fun flash challenges. They have dialed down the stupid trash talking aspect between the teams and show more tattooing, so that is a plus. Two blind judgings so far, so hopefully we will get even more of those. Spoiler Rooting for the Asian woman! While his tattoos are good, I don't want to see the father win. The mettalic challenge must have looked better in person. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150649-season-16-all-episodes-thread/#findComment-8510067
sharifa70 November 20, 2024 Share November 20, 2024 I appreciate that the drama has been dialed down (though I don’t want to see Pony get caught up in the alliance nonsense that Stephanie proposed. Poor Lucy ended up with the absolute worst canvases! I am *over* artists getting derailed by canvases who don’t care about the brief. I get that it’s your body, dude, but this is season 16 and the artists have specific challenges to meet. The canvases know this. I think the show should have a pool of standby canvases to allow artists to reject people who demand, say, a black & grey realistic portrait on their ribs, non-negotiable, when the challenge is a 6-hour American Traditional pinup on the forearm. Take that bit of drama out of the equation entirely and send a message to the canvases that “the customer is always right” has its limits when you sign up for a free tattoo on a competition show (and for people who argue that the artists need to be able to finesse their clients, in the real world the artist can simply refuse to tattoo someone who asks for a tattoo the artist can’t do well). 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150649-season-16-all-episodes-thread/#findComment-8513062
azshadowwalker December 3, 2024 Share December 3, 2024 The problem with this season is that they're either going to have to get a really, really surprisingly bad tattoo to send Old Man Tex home or he's just going to win. I mean, there's no drama in a good way but there's also no drama in a bad way. It's either a foregone conclusion or they're going to have to twist themselves in knots to get a different outcome. The double elimination really screwed Lucy. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150649-season-16-all-episodes-thread/#findComment-8523758
Madding crowd December 6, 2024 Share December 6, 2024 I love this show but didn’t like the new guns vs og theme. That one new gun had no experience with drawing, color, line work, traditional, new school etc. Lucy seemed very talented, I was looking forward to seeing more of her work. I’m guessing it will be James or his son who looks older than his dad. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150649-season-16-all-episodes-thread/#findComment-8525814
TVbitch December 12, 2024 Author Share December 12, 2024 Wow, and I thought the live finale had a lot of filler. Maybe they could throw in a competition between the ones that got eliminated for a $5,000 bonus prize or something to fill out the finale. Aside from that, I thought it was a pretty entertaining season. The winner was a foregone conclusion, but that guy was the most talented. Had to laugh when they threw a couple votes at the son to try to keep it interesting, but I really don't think there was ever any contest. I binged watched this over the weekend. The blind judgings were a farce. The first one only the first round of tattoos were judged blind, then when James' dog with the bubble was deemed not a great tattoo and the judges found out it was his work, all bets were off and the second round the tattoos weren't judged blind again! Where's the fairness in that?? Also the episode which determined which contestants were going to the finale, once the results were in, I found it laughable that when each finalist was revealed, funnily enough it was exactly both of their tattoos they did that flashed up on the screen! How is that blind judging?? It was fixed for dad and his son to make the finale no matter what. I don't know why I bother with this show anymore. azshadowwalker January 3 Share January 3 I still haven't watched the finale. I knew who was going to win. Why bother? Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150649-season-16-all-episodes-thread/#findComment-8545479
