Young Catherine was so predatory with her “Kylie” seduction. She knew she has the power because of his desire for her.

The prolonged sequence of young Catherine giving Jonathan a tutorial on how to pleasure a woman is just cringey. Is it really necessary to show how inexperienced Jonathan was?

Nancy had quite an imagination and unhealthy obsession with his son. She believed her son’s innocence was tainted by women — pressured to smoke by Sasha and seduced by Catherine.

Nancy was an unreliable narrator and Stephen believes everything she wrote.

Are we getting an episode where stories will be told from Catherine’s POV?

And was he really THAT inexperienced? He seemed to know his way around his girlfriend's body on the train in the first episode. That sequence may have been how his mother wrote it in her book, not wanting to believe that he was a horny young dude banging his way around Europe.

The graphic sex scene was nothing more than cheap Christmas trash (TM Chick Boyle in "Crimes of the Heart.") Desperate attempt to lure in viewers with a script stolen from lurid 1970s pornography.

I turned to this series for class and skilled acting by esteemed actors. Not sure if I will finish it.

I had a difficult time getting through the sex scene.  Catherine seemed predatory and was grooming Jonathan.  It was making me cringe.

I had to fast forward through it. The whole "grooming" aspect is why I think this is how his Mom wrote it in her book. She assumed her son was sexually naive and inexperienced, not the horndog he actually was. The later scene where he's got the camera and is directing young Catherine on how to pose is probably how it actually went down.

Interesting that here in the States we pronounce Nikon with a long "i", like in "sigh", but in the UK it's pronounced with a short "i' like in "sick".
