Snazzy Daisy October 3 Author Share October 3 Why doesn’t Aaron go for further checkup on his muscle strain? Get a second professional opinion. Brian Murphy being honest with Aaron and his family about the scrutiny surrounding the scouting/selection processes is admirable. Aaron thinks his skills and speed are everything. Quote “Murphy is bending over backwards to clean you up so you can play on Sundays. I’ve been spotless my whole life and I’m gonna end up in Germany. Hope you really understand what you’ve got.” No, he doesn’t. He keeps failing himself, DJ. Social maturity — 1/10. Quote “Nobody’s questioning your athletic ability, Aaron. They’re questioning your character.” New England Patriots may think they have the right culture for Aaron but he’s too messed up. All the internalized anger, suppressed feelings and self-loathing. The childhood sexual abuse explains the anger. Aaron hooking up with Chris (the physical therapist) is so predictable and a bit sensationalized. Link to comment
ShadowHunter October 3 Share October 3 The scenes between the brothers were the best part of the episode. This is more of the stuff the show should focus on. The ending scene with them being happy was sad considering what we know happens in the end. If Aaron was molested by his Uncle that was truly awful. They really did treat the Athletes like cattle during the draft picks. I understand it's a process but asking him if he had sex with Cattle ect was not what I was expecting to hear. I guess they have to weed out the crazies. 1 Link to comment

All the internalized anger, suppressed feelings and self-loathing. Like his coach at college, they are giving him too much leeway given his red flags. He has enough talent that the Patriots were too willing to look the other way, especially given other teams were not rushing to pick him up Was the child sexual abuse obliquely suggested or outright said and where? I seemed to have missed it. The only mention of sexual child abuse I recall was about the trainer’s uncle Link to comment

The only mention of sexual child abuse I recall was about the trainer’s uncle It’s suggested in the opening scene during a flashback where little DJ found Uncle Bobby (Terri’s brother) and little Aaron in a locked room. Uncle Bobby said he’s just giving Aaron his birthday money. Little Aaron looked so upset and he pushed little DJ against the door. In the middle of the episode, during their fight, Aaron yells to DJ — “you’re supposed to protect me!”. Link to comment
