By this point I am tired of Voit, tired of the actor and his hair and stupid grin.   I can't believe they're still going with the head-Voit gimmick.   Is he a Cylon? (give me Tricia Helfer any day).

The Tyler-Penelope sub-plot is BORING BORING BORING.

JJ's hemming and hawing instead of confronting Emily directly feels like a TV trope.

The Gold Star arc is not grabbing me in any way.   The story lacks menace.  The unsub poses no threat to ordinary innocent people, just crooked cops apparently.   Do we really care about victims who kinda deserve it?

And Emily's potty-mouth ... at one point it was like Tourettes.  Do they think this enhances the character?  Endears her to us?  If they're going to start making changes to her, please do something with her hair instead.   The long, flat locks look oppressive and are unflattering to her face.

I have this weekend set aside to catch up with the whole season so far. From reading the comments, I am not sure if I will want to continue or not. For me, a lot depends on how much Penelope is crammed down our throats. Especially with her in any kind of relationship. (Although, I did like her with Kevin way back when. THEY made sense.)

The reveal that Gold Star is a network falls flat to me. The narrative is too convoluted and the connection between these cases is too vague until the BAU team spell it out for us. The exposition dump is frustrating!

Am so sick and tired of BAU’s dependency on Voit and Rossi’s hallucinations. I don’t care about his wife and daughters. And Holly manages to sneak a lipstick/knife into a max security federal prison? Come on! 🙄

JJ couldn’t find the right moment to talk to Emily about her deepfaked porn is ridiculous. Just blurt it out, it won’t take long. In a room full of experienced profilers, it’s so unrealistic that no one notices JJ is dissociating.

Another ridiculous thing? The INTENSE, INCREDIBLE connection between Tyler and Penelope. What connection are they talking about? There’s NO deep, meaningful connection between these two. They hooked up and now they move on. It’s casual. Penelope continuously acting weird around Tyler is nauseatingly immature. 🤮

I continue to be not sure but ok I kinda like it because it has its moments about this show.

I am a sucker for a female killer so I kinda liked the juxposition between the killer and Voits daughter.    How Voits daughter was so very on the edge and how the BAU was both willing and not willing to use that to their advantage.   Yeah they were gonna blackmail Voit but they were gonna give her the therapy anyway.

i liked the image of the police badges with the concept of Gold Star.

I am watching the episodes now, but I am not enjoying them. First, the scenes are just too dark (lighting) and I am just totally confused. Plus, when they give their special snowflake anything important to do, it takes me out of the show. There is no way anyone as immature and naive and ridiculous as Penelope Garcia would be in the BAU, much less have the attention of grown men. So, I will keep hanging in there, but once I have the first few watched, I will enjoy just watching 1 at a time.

That moment when Emily asked JJ what she wanted to talk about and JJ was just like, "...nothing..." and Emily just went, "Okay." and walked off. I was sitting here like, "...Emily? How many times have you and JJ found yourselves in this situation?" Especially given Emily's own experience trying to keep secrets and refusing to admit when she's struggling - one would think she'd notice that JJ's clearly not in a good headspace as a result.

On that note, did anyone else expect the reveal that the unsub's relationship with her father was going to be a lot ickier than it already was? The whole "Daddy's girl" comment and all...

There are elements of the Gold Star storyine that I do find intriguing anc which I'm curious about, but I do agree that it's becoming way more complicated and twisty than it really needs to be. And it's weird to see Tyler sitting at the conference table with the others. Yeah, he's been helping them, but...dude, you're not a profiler.
