AnimeMania September 14, 2024 Share September 14, 2024 Moonflower Murders September 15, 2024 PBS 9 pm 6 episodes Susan Ryeland has left the publishing business and is now running a small hotel in Crete with her long-time boyfriend, Andreas. A book that Susan helped publish 8 years ago, Alan Conway's novel “Atticus Pünd Takes The Case” about an ex-actress, Melissa James, who was strangled to death in the picturesque village of Tooley in the county of Devonshire, in 1954, seems to hold the key to proving that the murder the book is based on, sent the wrong person to prison and a young female hotel clerk, Cecily Treherne, who read the novel and realized this, has now turned up missing. Cecily's parents offer 10,000 pounds to Susan Ryeland go to their hotel and find Cecily. Many of the actors have a dual role as the characters in the present day mystery and the characters in the novel. sempervivum October 7, 2024 Share October 7, 2024 I'm having the same problem with this one as I did with 'Magpie'- I keep losing track of who's who/reality or fiction, and trying to remember each story line. I admit I'm usually doing dinner cleanup during this show, though. I do love watching for the fashion/clothing, interiors and scenery. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/146636-moonflower-murders-general-discussion/#findComment-8474928

Even with my undivided attention I am perpetually confused. This will definitely need a rewatch to try and sort things out. Three different time periods as once is too much for my small brain to handle. 2 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/146636-moonflower-murders-general-discussion/#findComment-8480598
HappyHanna December 12, 2024 Share December 12, 2024 (edited) Having just read the book, any reasons why they changed so many [minor?] things (name of Melissa's husband, Cecily's dog, Cecily threw a glass vs knife, why Melissa stayed in England, etc)? Only Anthony Horowitz knows, he wrote the book and the screenplay. One more difference, Cecily's killer was much more callous and unrepentant in the book. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/146636-moonflower-murders-general-discussion/#findComment-8531025
