ProudMary January 22, 2024 Share January 22, 2024 The show has really hit its stride now, IMO. I'm enjoying the friendship between Sophie and Diane. The scene in the department store where Barbara used to work was a delightful tour de force of Gemma's comedic talent. I was iffy on this show one episode in. Episode 2 was an improvement. Now, I can't wait for next week! 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142795-s01e03-discussion-thread/#findComment-8272040
HoodlumSheep January 22, 2024 Share January 22, 2024 (edited) Noooo of all the hook ups I was half expecting, her and Clive... :/ hopefully it's a short fling. Dennis is married? :( What Barbara's manager said about the push and pull of stardom was pretty spot on. you can really see her starting to get swept up in the mania of it all. Daff January 22, 2024 Share January 22, 2024 Oh, this was absolutely THE best! Loved seeing the former boss get her comeuppance! The “Badger”! At this time, I was just a smidge too young to have had a department store job, but if I had, friends and I would have mislabeled that hat as the boss’s beaver! Loved the writing process, and the TV appearance, and the bar scene. Love all the characters as well. I wish her roommate had a personality though. Do we know why she’s so awfully subdued? 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142795-s01e03-discussion-thread/#findComment-8272219

While she's happy for Barbara's success, Marjorie knows that she doesn't possess any of those qualities. It can be tough being close to such a shining star when you're an ordinary Joe. 6 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142795-s01e03-discussion-thread/#findComment-8273132
