Yes, having discovered the doctor was a dead end, they felt he was living on borrowed time.

I spent the entire episode bracing myself for Nathan's head to explode at any random moment.
One might think that if news got out that it was possible to upload and download people's brains into younger, healthier clones of themselves, it would basically be discovering immortality. 
Of course, it would only be possible for the 1%'ers who could afford the procedure. 
I do appreciate that this show leans hard into the harsh corporate/financial reality of these type of 'utopian' ideas.
