cpcathy October 9, 2023 Share October 9, 2023 (edited) I liked it, it reminded me of those crime movies from the 90’s. We got to know so much about the core group of detectives and it seemed like an actual, real town they were working in. I would watch a movie with Benicio and Alicia Silverstone just solving cases, lol. It did seem like the director told Timberlake to tone down that charm he likes to show off, so instead we got a flat, boring performance. I wish they had cast someone else in that role. A lot of back at the squad and family stuff here. It was like a couple seasons case of the week worth of background. About the time of the shootout I was wanting less of the flashbacks and for them to advance the whodunit only to have them announce a more real to life administrative leave after killing. methodwriter85 November 3, 2023 Share November 3, 2023 (edited) I really kept thinking that this is a movie that should have been directed by David Fincher. It would have been so much better if it had been. It felt like a meandering mess, which is NOT what you want from a crime thriller. I was also really confused about the conspiracy. So the girlfriend was acting as a realtor and "fake selling" properties that her boyfriend's family owned. She was also having sex with her clients in those houses? At the same time, the girlfriend had no awareness of the drug smuggling in the properties she was faking selling? She never wondered why she wasn't getting any money? I'm still so confused. I liked the usage of "Knocking on Heaven's Door" but I kind of thought they should have used it to show where the survivors of the story end up, including Alicia Silverstone's character. How does she deal with knowing her uncle was part of a plot that got him killed and nearly killed her husband? I did like the chemistry between Alicia Silverstone and Benecio DelToro. It was a little "Excess Baggage" reunion. LOL Edited November 4, 2023 by methodwriter85 Link to comment
