frenchtoast February 9, 2023 Share February 9, 2023 Yay, Rex. And Senator Chuchie. And Senator Organa. I do like the intrigue episodes. And Rampart is so smug. Seeing him get annoyed with her was awesome. But why was Organa meeting with her so secretly. That seemed a little forced. The filler episodes haven't been terrible but I really do appreciate these wider world episodes. Those clones at the bar, talking with Chuchie, it was hard to watch. Seeing her realize that these Clones were indoctrinated to just be soldiers, to only want that. To realize that they will perhaps outlive being a soldier and what that might entail and how bewildering that is. I mean, even Omega doesn't say family she says squad. It's so depressing. 3 Link to comment
Chyromaniac February 9, 2023 Share February 9, 2023 It’s wild to me that weeks of mostly fun adventures with character development and learning moments for the BB have been labeled as “filler”- while this wound up as essentially table setting for the next episode. I’m not saying it wasn’t good, or worthwhile in its own way- but this is the first show of the season that actually felt like filler to me. It’s like they knew they had necessary plot points (the Stormtrooper vote, the blank clone assassin, bringing back Bail, Rex, and Chuchi, etc) that they couldn’t fit into Truth and Consequences - so they built a mystery story around the deaths of two clones iirc we didn’t previously know (Slip and Cade) to fit them into. I will say, the best part of this was Chuchi meeting with the “They terk er jerbs” clones at the bar. It’s really tough to see these guys who have been literally programmed to think that they have nothing more to contribute to society than to be soldiers. I also thought it was a clever fake out to not have the sniper be Crosshair- especially after it became clear that this show wouldn’t have any other main BB character in it. The implication of an untraceable clone devoted to some unknown cause is intriguing, and I’m sure will play out in the back half of the season. 2 Link to comment
Tachi Rocinante February 9, 2023 Share February 9, 2023 I preferred this much more than the "side quest" episodes. 2 Link to comment
