A series of brutal home invasion robberies finds the team paired with Detective Borkowski, an old friend of Ruzek's, to work the case. Things get complicated for Torres when it becomes clear Borkowski has a vastly different policing style.

I like Dante Torres. It’s great seeing him getting paired with Adam this time round.

My fav moments:

➡️  The way Dante handled the raped victim, cautiously and delicately.
➡️  The way Trudy read the room and  knew right away something is off. Always have their backs.
➡️  Dante firmly held his ground when Borkowski threatened his career while Voight was watching from afar.

We’ll be seeing this detective again.

With 23 CRs, he is still a detective. Now make Kev/Adam/Kim a detective already!

Do you know what CR stands for when they said that Borkowski had 23 CR's?

Complaint Registers.

What are complaints and CR documents?

Another week another 'bad white cop' friend storyline for Ruzek... sigh.

I did like this one though, if I put aside my apathy for the repetitive storyline. Ruzek & Torres together was a nice mix up & I enjoyed the pairing. I am not sure if I 'love' Torres yet but I am intrigued enough by him to keep watching.

It was amusing seeing the peanut gallery commenting that it's a pity that Ruzek never had Kevin's back like he did Torres in this ep considering out of all the cops on this show the only one who had Kevin's back every time was Ruzek.

Torres leant some tough lessons in this one. I guess everyone comes in with an idealistic hope that everything is black & white & can be tied up in a neat bow. Ruzek believing him & not letting him blow his career up by going off half cocked wasn't what Torres expected & I don't blame him for replying to his question about whether he thought Ruzek wouldn't have his back the way he did. You don't just trust someone because you work with them..... wait until he hears about what others in that unit do..... you need to learn that you can trust them.

It was nice to get away from the mopey wife storyline, her obvious buddying up with Voight brings me great joy. Two peas in a pod.

Even though I am clearly a Burzek fan I liked that they had no real interaction in this one. I don't need them yoked together every single week. Now if we could just get a Atwater/Burgess pairing in an episode that'd be grand.

I like that Torres is a man of few words.  I also appreciated how he handled the rape victim.  I'm not sure we've seen any of the other characters do that, including the women.  Narrating what he was doing and asking permission to touch her to remove the restraints was A+ police work, IMO.

I was so confused about the people complaining that Ruzek never had Kevin's back when he was literally the only one who has consistently ever did. One of the reasons I got annoyed with that switch up on Ruzek they did in season 7 was because people now associate him with his weirdly misplaced microaggressive comments and that brawl they had like Ruzek wasn't actually quite literally fighting people who were racist to Kevin for the entire series. He was also the ONLY one who told Kevin he had his back if he chose to go up against that dirty cop... I'm so sick of revisionist history.

I LOVE Torres. I've loved him since he first appeared and he's just getting better. Loved the pairing with Ruz to switch things up. Now all we need is a pair up with him and Burgess where they kick it in Spanish and he'll have found his place on the more likable group of the unit.

His talking to the SA survivor actually brought tears to my eyes because I have never seen that handled so well on this show before not even with the female characters .

Ruzek needs new friends. Truly. This us ridiculous. Why have they made his entire personality being a cop now? Because even he looked out of place trying to kick it with these oldheads. Torres definitely wasn't viking which amused me so much.

Ruzek's whokd it helps to know people approach collapses in on itself when ever cop he knows is shady, dirty, or vaguely racist. Plus Torres knows people in a different context. His well will always be the streets and the community which is Very useful. On connections alone he could be on Voight and Kevin's level with time which just generally seems more useful for the field they're in.

Not sure it's revisionist history or just bitter Upstead trolls who are yet to grasp the fact that Jesse Lee Soffer didn't want to be Upton's lap dog anymore.
