Morrigan2575 December 9, 2022 Share December 9, 2022 (edited) I've seen this story done so many times before but, having it be in French makes me want to watch it, Eva Green as Milady de Winter doesn't hurt either. JustHereForFood December 25, 2022 Share December 25, 2022 I'll wait and see before I form an opinion, so far I haven't been fully satisfied by any adaptation of the book. The 2-part French movie from 1961 comes the closest, so this being also French and 2-part could be a good sign. Raja November 4, 2024 Share November 4, 2024 On Hulu the two parts are like the 1973/4 The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers. I missed the humor, although I normally prefer more serious versus more comedic stories, of the earlier two movies not counting the Captain D'Artagan movie years. And the modern quick cuts and night scenes for the fights also seem sub par compared to my favorite production of the story. While nobody can match Raquel Welch and the slapstick turn she had to do Lyna Khoudri as Constance was lovely. I had to do a double take when he appeared, I think that Éric Ruf can play Charlton Heston Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/135885-the-three-musketeers-i-and-ii-2023/#findComment-8498503
DoctorAtomic December 22, 2024 Share December 22, 2024 I watched in French with English subtitles because I can't do dubs in any language. I read the books a long time ago. I think for movies you just need the characters and the political situation. I didn't recall the books had much of the king or them being pals with the queen, but I liked it. I liked how everyone was kind of homely too. I'd say the focus wasn't really on the four though. They set up for a third movie easy though. I also liked how you could get from Paris to London in about 90 minutes. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/135885-the-three-musketeers-i-and-ii-2023/#findComment-8538742
