zoey1996 April 6, 2022 Share April 6, 2022 Ken Burns's four-hour documentary, Benjamin Franklin, explores the revolutionary life of one of the 18th century's most consequential figures. Episode 1 | “Join or Die” (1706-1774) Episode 2 | "An American" (1775-1790) I watched Episode 2, but not Episode 1 yet. It's a thorough, in-depth look at Franklin's life and legacy. 1 1 Link to comment

I thought it presented a balanced picture of Franklin and brought out a lot of small details that I'd either forgotten or never knew. 2 Link to comment
Crashcourse April 6, 2022 Share April 6, 2022 I watched both episodes and it was quite interesting. It was sad at the end, though, that he never reconciled with his son, William. 1 Link to comment
Wilbur Whateley April 7, 2022 Share April 7, 2022 (edited) If events had happened just slightly differently, I suspect Franklin would have remained a Loyalist. That parliamentary inquiry where he was humiliated swung the balance, IMO. Edited April 7, 2022 by Wilbur Whateley spelling 2 Link to comment
